I stopped here on a whim when the truck was at the Pierce county bike swap. I don't even like fried chicken that much and I think the chicken here was AMAZING. Perfectly crispy, not greasy, just the right ratio of chicken:breading:spices. This is probably the best fried chicken I've had in the PNW. The waffle (we got churro flavored) was really good too. I had my first ever encounter with P&J's Waffle Delight at the Explore the Outdoors fair. I went with the "Ari" a spicier version of Chicken and Waffles and it was AAAAMAZING. Not too spicy, with just enough kick to leave you wanting more. I only got through half of my order before my 3 kids noticed my meal and ended up taking over the rest. Also....the plate you're seeing is $13 not including the drink. If it didn't cost so much for so little, hell yeah I'd go back for more! But then ask for just a tad bit less sauce. Very disappointed in their service. Canceled at the last minute for an event, even though he was booked several months ahead. Says he scheduled us incorrectly and was "out of the country". That's food truck talk for "I scheduled a better paying gig that day". I only found out, when I double-checked we were good to go. No phone call, no email. Very unethical. Left us hanging with 150 people who cannot be fed for an event. I never write a bad review, but felt it was necessary. Will not hire for any subsequent events as he cannot be trusted. Ok, this truck literally made my weekend. We reached out because we were hosting a large, academic event in Union City. Thousands of hungry high school kids who needed to eat for two days and Paige and James came to the rescue. Not only were they an absolute pleasure to work with as we were planning the event, but they were just lovely people to say hi to throughout the weekend (between them feeding swarms of hungry people, that is!). SO MANY people were raving about the chicken and waffles from P&J's on day one that I knew something special was going on there. So special, in fact, that they ran out of food early and had to close up--- and that's not because they were unprepared, they just had high demand! So, needless to say, on day 2, I absolutely had to try their food for myself. And let me tell you: I was NOT disappointed. The chicken is spicy, flavorful, and super juicy .. . the waffle was crispy and perfect. Even the syrup seemed to be the good stuff. All together? Forget about it, that was amazing! P&J's Waffles not only had spectacular customer service, but they were quick (without compromising the quality and taste), and the food was exquisite.
