Solid burger joint. Definitely a plus that they allow online ordering for pickup! Instructions said go to the drive-thru window but they don't actually have a drive thru. However they do have very clearly marked ordering and pickup windows that are walk-up. No seating so we ate in the car. There's a small lot with 10-15 spots. Double cheeseburger with good flavor, adequate meat patty size. The cheese was practically all melted off and in the bottom of the bag but still tasty. Lettuce was sparse and I wished for a tomato slice instead of the "tomato relish." I got a cherry and blackberry shake which was very good, even has real berry bits and seeds! Came here on Saturday night around 5 PM. It wasn't too busy, the weather was 84. I saw this place after seeing a couple of reviews on my video feed, so I decided to check it out. I was really happy with it. The wait wasn't too long, the fries were nice and crispy yet still fluffy on the inside. I love a burger with relish. You don't get that very often around here, and the burgers were grilled perfectly with lots of melted cheese. Had it capped off with a cherry coke. I haven't tried Frisco since they came under new ownership and I am sad to say it has went completely downhill. What arguably used to be the best burger around town is now so mid. The bun and patty were completely burnt. My only good comments is that it was quick and I am glad they have Coke slushies. As a Stadium student, this was a must stop by spot after school as it was affordable and filling. I have tried their shrimpwich (seems like it is discontinued), fishwich, cheeseburger, fries, shakes, onion rings, and sodas. Never had any issues with this place. The service here is pretty good, the employees are always courteous no matter when I stop by. I appreciate that when you do order, they will call out your name so you can wait in the car when it's cold or hot. Additionally, it avoids any issues of people not knowing if they are waiting for their order or standing in line. Not much to say with the ambiance as it is a walk up or drive thru spot that is primarily take out. No chairs or tables nearby but they don't have anything messy and it's easy to enjoy. I had the triple meat double cheeseburger with a side of fried and my girlfriend had their fish n chips. The burger was really well made and the buns were toasted just right. This was the best burger experience I've had in the PNW, and probably the best burger I've had at a fast food spot. Service was good. The staff was nice but given that it's a walk up window you don't have a whole lot of time. There is very little seating within the area so you eat in your car or somewhere else and that's really what they're going for anyway. I would recommend stopping by here if you come out to Tacoma. In my opinion, the best fries in Tacoma are found here. I also really enjoy chicken fingers and the fish sandwich but those fries...gimme! My favorite thing to do is place an order online so that when I show up, I only have a few moments to wait until deliciousness is at my fingertips. Well, I'll start off like this. I ordered a cherry milkshake, french fries and their chicken corndog. I waited about 10 minutes for my order and when I received it, the french fries were so heavily salted. I could barely eat a few of them. The crisp was there but way over salted the corn dog tasted fine, but you don't need to add salt to it, The cherry milkshake did not taste like cherry, and it was so over blended within about three minutes it turned into a cherry milk rather than a milkshake. But here's the Kicker. I spent the last few weeks in Tacoma General, dealing with liver failure. I'm at end of stage liver disease, and after place in my order with the young kid at the window, I proceeded around the corner to grab my napkins and straw, this kid yelled to the fry cooks in the back stating you should've seen this guy's eyes. They were so yellow, and they started laughing. I leaned down in the window as he walked back to take the next order and stated to him I'm sorry my eyes are yellow. I'm dealing with liver disease and I don't have much longer to live. All he said was OK sorry. I thought about seeing more but bit my tongue and realized these kids are not the brightest anymore back in the day he probably would've had his teeth knocked in, but I hope he has what's coming to him maybe a reprimand or making clean the facilities in the parking lot for the next month. And if the owner or anybody in this establishment is reading this, they should put him in his place I wish I got his name, but he knows who he is. read more

Frisko Freeze has been around since the 50's. It's a classic burger joint I've been going to since I was a kid. My husband wasn't a fan but I convinced him to go last night for a late night meal and he was pleasantly surprised! It's everything you want in a drive in style meal. The burgers were perfectly greasy and yummy, fish was great and fries were good and crispy. Got the blackberry shake as well and it was good. Wish it was a little more tart but tasted as I expected it to so that's not so much a negative and a personal preference. They're under construction right now so they're temporarily working out a food truck. That being said, we had a few orders ahead of us so we had to wait but it wasn't overly long. The staff was good all though one person inside was overly loud about their personal issues using rough language in the back but they weren't right in the front so I just ignored it. Last night after a movie, my family and I stopped by Frisko Freeze like we've done many times before. But what happened this time left me highly disappointed. As we pulled up, there was a homeless man lying near the road--not really visible, not bothering anyone, just... there. It was late. Maybe he was tired, maybe hungry. As we walked up to place our order, we saw a worker with a broom approach the man in the road. That worker comes back to the window says to another employee with a shorter black scraggly beard, he wants some food. But instead of compassion, the man with the beard, I'm pretty sure he was the cook says, "Well, he can come in and do some dishes" making a mockery amongst his coworkers.. :/ That comment hit me hard. It felt cold. Dehumanizing. Like this man's hunger wasn't worthy of kindness unless he earned it--right there, on the spot I understand there may be a lot of homeless encounters but that was disgusting behavior. I couldn't just stay silent. So I told them, "We'll, buy him a burger since y'all won't provide one." We bought him food ourselves, gave it to him, and he quietly left. I'm still thinking about it. After us two more people asked if the man was okay and staff blew it off I even overheard another girl say "Did he get hit yet is he dead" like what the heck.. About how easily we throw away food at the end of the night, but act like giving someone a warm meal is a burden like it comes out of their paychecks..About how some people have nothing and still get judged for asking. About how easy it would've been for someone behind that counter to show an ounce of compassion--but didn't! This isn't just about Frisko Freeze.
