    BMK!

Holy smokes, if you're looking for a perfectly made burger with spectacularly unique flavor, do yourself a favor and go to Boss Mama's Kitchen! I was first introduced to BMK when a work vendor had them catering a holiday event and I was blown away with the experience. I ordered the Cowgirl burger with no cheese and it was so good that I immediately looked up where BMK would be next so I could take my spouse. I've now been twice and can't wait to introduce others to this awesome food truck!

So I stopped by today to get some lunch for my dad and I and it was delicious. So first the mama fratelli burger was damn amazing probably the best burger I've ever had. It was messy, gooey cheese, tasty burger patties, awesome bun, just hands down an awesome burger, a little pricey at 10$ but well worth the money for a treat. Next was the B&B grilled cheese was bad but because it was burnt my dad nor I could taste much of anything so at 9.50$ it wasn't worth it only because it was burnt. As for a treat once in awhile would recommend but for everyday it would get a tad pricey.

    Emails confirming June 9th

I went to Half Lion Brewery specifically to start a relationship with this food truck. She attended one event at my business and while it was during the winter season I packed the house to promote it. She told me that she wanted more business so I decided to wait till summer hours when our patio is open and I could get her even more business wanting to build on our relationship. In May I referred her to a customer who was hosting an event at my business and tried to give her and her truck more business. Unfortunately the customer cancelled Boss Mama's because they couldn't get the 200 guests they were anticipating over two days. Boss Mamas wrote me two emails confirming dates at my business for June 9th and June 22-25th. The June 22nd and 24th dates Boss Mamas requested to cancel for another event and I agreed telling her I understood - AGAIN trying to build this relationship. She text me on June 2nd to ask about times on June 23rd and I told her 4:30 and the same for June 9th. She replied that she wasn't at my business on June 9th and that she meant to say May 9th in her emails. I sent her photos of both emails (see photos). Ultimately I tried to build a relationship with Jen, refer her to my clients and in the end I promoted her event to my 500 email subscribers and to all of my customers. She took no accountability and there was zero follow through - instead she said I had never asked for June 9th. I am looking for food trucks to build a lasting relationship with at my growing business, and I love my clients and customers and will refer you to them for their special events as well! Feel free to reach out to me 805.464.9343 **must have follow through

3.5 stars for taste, but way overpriced. $7 for a cheeseburger that is equivalent to frisko freeze.

I visit viet kitchen about 1x/week!…read more I usually order SP4. Banh hoi thap cam to-go. This is a vermicelli noodle sheet dish with grilled pork, shrimp, and grilled pork sausage! The grilled pork is my favorite part! The serving size is huge so it could definitely feed 1.5 people. I usually eat about 75% in one sitting and save 25% later. The other dish I order if I'm eating at the restaurant is R9. Fish tamarind sour soup and Caramelized braised fish with rice. This is a staple I had when I was younger and ate out at Vietnamese restaurants. The food here is truly authentic Vietnamese! The prices for some of the dishes are also very reasonable for Tacoma. A banh mi (Vietnamese baguette) only costs $9. In addition, there's free and easy parking in front of the restaurant, happy hours from 2-6 pm Monday through Friday, and catering! Highly recommend this place.

I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, and I really appreciated that they were able to make substitutions since I don't eat pork blood. I also mentioned multiple times that I didn't want cilantro, but when my soup came out, it was covered in cilantro. They took it back and picked most of it out, but there was still quite a bit at the bottom of the soup. I really don't like cilantro, so I tried my best to eat around it. Despite that, the broth was AMAZING. It had the perfect spicy kick and so much flavor. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the crab balls tasted like they were made with real crab. They also gave me a generous amount of meat, which I loved! The fresh coconut was also so good! Since we're in Washington, we probably won't get the freshest coconut like you would somewhere tropical, but it definitely did the job. Overall, the food itself was really good, but I wish they had been more careful about the cilantro since I specifically mentioned it several times.

She was fast greeting us and so sweet. It felt like we were eating at a family's house with much better chefs. This time we had the ribs, hen, Caesar salad, and steak sliders. I almost ate the plate because the food was so good. I didn't want to leave anything behind. My wife didn't quite enjoy her drink this time "the sunset" but I had a great glass of red wine. The steak sliders are worth a second mention. I would eat that every day. It was also happy hour so we tried a lot more than we usually would. I'm really loving this place.

The server didn't come by to check after food was delivered, so over 30 minutes went by before we could flag him down and ask when the 4th entree would be coming. He admitted he forgot, promised he'd get it going ASAP, and that he'd adjust the bill (unprompted, mind you!) Another 20 minutes, no food. No one checks in about drinks, no updates about the order, nothing. My friend has to flag the server down and ask for it to go; we just want to leave. Next, no itemized bill was presented before paying, so we had to ask for a breakdown. The server had given us a 10% discount on JUST her entree. $3 off a $250+ bill after making her wait nearly an hour for her food. They didn't offer to comp the meal - in fact they said it wasn't an option. "My hands are tied. This is our policy for when food comes late." They only agreed to remove the price of the entree when she said she didn't want it anymore and gave the to-go bag back. On the way out she stopped to speak with management, come to find the server didn't tell the whole story to his own boss. He said our table was merely upset about late food, not that the server never put in her order in the first place. Management retrieved her order from the kitchen and gave it back to her, though who knows what may have been done to it. Two stars because the food that we did get was delicious, but it wasn't worth the wait.

It grilled perfectly. I am not sure if the kimchi was vegetarian or not, I eat fish so I didn't check. My kids got the hot beef broth and liked it. There are many noodle options, including ramen, which the kids liked. They also enjoyed the brisket. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and checked on us a few times. How it works: Select your tier ($35/$45/$55). The whole table needs to be on the same tier. Pick two broths. Select five meat/seafood/tofu/noodle options to start. Go to the self serve area and get your veggies. Go to the self serve sauce bar and make up your dipping sauce. Cook your food. Value: three people, with soda/tea was $135 and I tipped $15. We got the first tier only. Hot food like egg rolls and pot stickers are extra and we didn't get any. Soft serve ice cream and cookies are included at no extra charge. I appreciate the pricing model but I found it expensive. This is more than we spend on sushi.

And if you want something a little fancier, they do have mocktails at $8. I spent $185 including tip and taxes for 3 people. The set up is nice as you can grill and have soup on the next grill. They do have a few booths and then some tables. But if youre a larger party, you might get split up if they're busy. I'd recommend reservations if you have a large party. But getting to the food. For the Hotspot portion, you can pick 2 broths and its set up in a yingyang formatted pot. Then you go to the "buffet line" to get your veggies, meats and etc. They do have some hot foods like chicken wings and some type of fried roll. Hotspot was just okay. I was hoping for more flavor. The kbbq was just okay too. But one thing to keep in mind, this spot does not have the exhaust pipes/hood like they do at kbbq to help with the air, so prepare to smell. Leave your fancy/dry cleaning clothes at home. When my friends and I went, it got pretty hot inside, and there was only a box fan. So being next to a grill and no A/C made it more hot and uncomfortable. Maybe its changed now hopefully. The staff was nice and service was decent. Oh, and they do have an ice cream machine, so that's what made this spot like a 3.5 out of 5.
