I haven't been in the Summit Family Restaurant in awhile. Stopped in today for a quick breakfast at the counter, and the staff here is super friendly. The Classic Eggs Benedict breakfast I had was excellent.

This is a truck stop kind of restaurant. Unpretentious. I had a nice breakfast here. Eggs came just like I ordered They put something other than butter on the toast though They have corn beef hash on the menu but it's from a can Ok to go. Clean and nice staff but keep your expectations in check

I've passed Watershed Pub a million times and never stopped, so when I met a friend for lunch, it…read morefinally felt like the right time to check it out. Naturally, I had already done my due diligence (read: stalked the menu for a full week) and had a game plan. At the top of my list? The deviled eggs and the Kale Caesar salad with salmon. The only problem...I absolutely did not need $40 worth of food for lunch. So I quietly spent the week putting "deviled egg energy" out into the Universe, hoping my lunch partner would suggest splitting them. Manifestation is real, people. I arrived around 12pm and found plenty of parking out back in Watershed's designated lot, which is clearly labeled--a good thing, because parking in that area looks like it could get competitive if you're not paying attention. We had made a 12:15pm reservation (Monday lunch felt safe, but why risk it?), and our table on the enclosed patio was ready when we arrived. It was the perfect setup--sunny and bright, but still warm enough to be comfortable on a chilly day. The vibe was great, and our server was even better--friendly, attentive, and consistently checking in without being overbearing. Then it was time to order. I let my lunch partner go first and waited... "Do you want to try the deviled eggs as an appetizer?" Are you kidding me?!. YES. Yes, I did! We ordered the deviled eggs ($11) to share, and I followed through with my Kale Caesar salad ($15) topped with seared salmon (+$13), officially completing my week-long menu-stalking mission. The deviled eggs came out FAST, and in my excitement, I completely forgot to take a picture--which tells you everything you need to know. Each egg was topped with a cube of candied bacon that absolutely stole the show. Sweet, savory, and just the right texture to complement the creamy filling. We made quick work of all four--excellent start to the meal! Not long after, our lunches arrived, and my salad? Gorgeous. Like, actually exciting to look at. I dug in immediately and it delivered. The mix of shaved brussels sprouts, kale, and romaine gave it great texture, the dressing was well-balanced, and the red onion didn't overpower the rest of the flavors. But my favorite part? The garlic parmesan crouton crumble. No chasing rogue croutons around the plate--just perfectly distributed crunch in every bite. Genius! The portion size was generous, too--I made it through about half before calling it and boxing the rest for dinner later. By the time we were wrapping up, the enclosed patio had filled up significantly, which tells me this is a popular lunch spot--and for good reason. The food is solid, the atmosphere is great, and the service was spot on. That said...$40 for deviled eggs, a salad and water is a bit steep for an everyday lunch. For me, this feels more like a "treat yourself," client meeting, or special occasion kind of place rather than a regular rotation spot. Would I come back? Absolutely. Would I be casually popping in every week? Probably not. But those deviled eggs? Totally worth manifesting!

Knowing Father's Day would probably be busy, I decided to do my homework ahead of time. Before we even left the house, I used First Watch's online "Check In" feature to get our name on the list while we were driving there. The website estimated a 10 to 20 minute wait and instructed us to let the hostess know when we arrived. Perfect! Or so I thought... About 15 minutes later, we walked through the doors...into absolute chaos. The lobby was PACKED with people waiting for tables despite the fact that roughly half the dining room appeared to be sitting empty. I squeezed my way through the crowd, made it to the hostess stand, gave her my name and mentioned that I'd already checked in online. "Great," she said. "It'll be 20 to 25 minutes." Wait...what? So the online check-in that said we'd be waiting 10 to 20 minutes...didn't actually accomplish anything? If I'd known we'd still be waiting another half hour after arriving, we honestly would have chosen somewhere else that accepted reservations or true call-ahead seating. The online check-in created expectations that simply weren't met. About 20 minutes later, we were finally seated. Unfortunately, things didn't improve. We sat for another 15 minutes before our waitress stopped by to take drink orders. We decided to order all of our food immediately because we weren't confident we'd see her again anytime soon. Good decision! The coffee arrived fairly quickly. The water...tap water, not fancy water, not bottled water, not water that required any preparation other than being put into a glass bottle and carried to the table, showed up about 10 minutes later. Here's what we ordered: Million Dollar Bacon ($6.29) - four slices of hardwood-smoked bacon glazed with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and syrup. This was absolutely phenomenal! If nothing else, order this (or learn to make it at home so you can avoid an excessive wait at First Watch to eat it). Sweet, smoky, just enough heat...this absolutely lived up to the hype! Power Wrap ($11.49) - egg whites, turkey, spinach, mushrooms and mozzarella in a sun-dried tomato basil tortilla with fresh fruit. The wrap itself was really good. The fruit was a mixed bag. The grapes were great, but the pineapple was still hard and noticeably underripe. At this point in the meal, I wasn't surprised and definitely wasn't going to try to get it fixed. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes ($13.29) - these were also really good. The lemon curd completely stole the show and made the pancakes. The menu advertised seasonal berries, which turned out to be strawberries. They were perfectly fine, though I probably would have expected blueberries this time of year. The Works Omelet (FREE BECAUSE THE ORDER WAS NOT CORRECT) - this was my stepdad's Father's Day breakfast. He ordered it WITHOUT onions. It arrived with EXTRA onions. By that point, our waitress had disappeared again, so rather than wait another 20 minutes for a remake, I flagged down another employee near the kitchen. I explained that we'd waited long enough already and simply wanted the omelet removed from the bill instead of remade. To their credit, they handled that professionally and removed it without any argument. While I had someone's attention, I also requested plates for the Million Dollar Bacon appetizer that had been sitting on our table for about 15 minutes and asked if my mom's meal could please be brought out since everyone else's food had already arrived quite a while earlier. Our final bill came to just over $44 after tax and tip. Even after everything that happened, I still left our waitress a 25% tip. It was Father's Day, the restaurant was clearly overwhelmed, and I try to assume people are doing the best they can with what they've got. That said...it was obvious something wasn't working. Whether they were understaffed, overwhelmed by the Father's Day crowd, or simply having an off day, the entire experience felt disorganized from beginning to end. The online check-in wasn't accurate, service was painfully slow, food came out at different times, one meal was prepared incorrectly, and our server disappeared for long stretches throughout the meal. Ironically, the food itself was actually pretty good. If I were reviewing only the Million Dollar Bacon, it would easily earn five stars. Unfortunately, restaurants are more than just food. For me, the overall experience matters just as much. There are simply too many excellent local breakfast and brunch spots to justify returning after an experience like this. I'm glad my stepdad's omelet was removed from the bill, and I appreciate that the staff made that right, but I left more frustrated than impressed. First Watch may have just had a really bad Father's Day. But based on my first experience, I don't think I'll be back to find out.

We ordered the oxtails and grits along with a pitcher of pineapple mimosas. The grits were honestly some of the creamiest I've ever had! I also ordered the strawberry stuffed French toast and bacon to take home, and it did not disappoint. The French toast was really good and, thankfully, not overly sweet. The service was another highlight. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of without being overbearing. I also really appreciated the atmosphere. The music was playing, but at a comfortable volume where you could actually enjoy it and have a conversation -- not the "why did I come here?" level of loud that some brunch spots have. The location is also a plus. It's far enough away from the busiest part of 2nd Street that parking wasn't a hassle, and they have their own parking lot, which is a definite bonus in downtown/midtown Harrisburg. Overall, this was a really enjoyable brunch experience. **Good food, strong drinks, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere.** I'll definitely be back to try more from the new menu!

The Review: Men in the Kitchen…read more My reviews are different. I do not announce myself or tell anyone. I am here to do a review!! It was a rainy Sunday, and I was working up a hunger while driving Uber for content. I went to three different spots before I finally found the place I should've gone to first. The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are so good that I want to find another establishment just like it, but so far--at least on this day--nothing in the area can beat it. I don't know why I treat this restaurant like a good wife that a man might constantly cheat on but always returns to. I'm not saying that I actually cheat; I'm just using that for context! So, I found myself once again at Two Men in the Kitchen. Since it was Easter Sunday, they offered a buffet or a special limited menu. There was fish and chicken wings available, and I chose the wings. Since I don't eat meat often, I asked for their "House Sauce," and it is by far amazing. I paired the wings with the 3-cheese baked mac & cheese and sweet potatoes. I went for the sides first because I wanted to save the best for last--I already knew that house sauce was going to be incredible, especially on the chicken and greens eggrolls they have. The mac & cheese was great; it had a crunchy outside yet remained soft in the middle, and the cheese pull was amazing. The sweet potatoes were definitely homemade; I could tell because every slice was a different cut, which I appreciate because it proves they didn't come out of a can. Now for the best part: the chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly--neither overdone nor underdone, with no pink on the inside. Everything was pure. I did happen to taste a little bit of Old Bay on the wings, so I asked the chef if that was part of the secret seasoning. He said no, so maybe someone slipped some in by accident, but it didn't stop me from indulging. I also ordered one of their house special drinks--a Hennessy and rum cocktail. It was a very pretty drink, but unfortunately, I am not a fan of Hennessy. Personally, I think it tastes like house keys or licking a brass knob when you're a kid. On my scale, the drink was a 2 out of 5; I just don't think rum and cognac should mix, but that's just my opinion. The atmosphere was amazing and the bathrooms were clean. I will definitely visit this place again and again, although sometimes it is hard to tell if they are open because of the heavily tinted windows. For those who know the area, this is the old firehouse in Harrisburg. I was told that on the weekends, they clear some tables to create a dance floor, which is a nice touch. There is plenty of bar seating and booths, making it a kid-friendly environment. The only thing I don't like--which applies to every restaurant on 2nd Street--is that it's very hard to find parking. The Scale * Location & Parking: (3/5) * Staff & Engagement: (4/5) * Food Consistency: (4.7/5)

I'm not sure if maple syrup is an option. Maybe we'll ask about that next time. My eggs were perfectly cooked. The sausage links had a nice flavor & great "snap". The tater tots were crisp on the outside & soft inside. The booths have enough space between them & high enough sides to feel separation between diners and focused into your own party. The floors, seats, and tables were clean & comfortable. The artwork is large & unambiguous- photographs of food. And finally, the coffee is good!

I stopped by Flinchy's Restaurant, Bar & Deck in Camp Hill to watch the Eagles vs. Ravens game and…read morehad a great time. It's easy to see why this spot is a local favorite. The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and full of regulars enjoying food, drinks, and football. A few highlights from my visit: Great game-day atmosphere with plenty of fellow fans. Friendly bartenders who seemed to know many of the regular customers by name. A welcoming crowd where friendly strangers quickly became bar friends over the course of the game. TouchTunes available, allowing guests to choose the music. Good selection of food and drinks to enjoy while watching sports. For food, I tried several appetizers, including: Crab rangoons Chicken fingers and fries Brussels sprouts Everything was good and hit the spot for a casual game-day meal. While none of the dishes particularly wowed me, they paired perfectly with a beer and an afternoon of football. One thing to note is that the restaurant ch ose to play music rather than the game's audio. That wasn't necessarily a negative, but if you're someone who likes hearing the commentary and broadcast coverage, it's worth keeping in mind. Overall, Flinchy's offers the kind of comfortable, neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back. Between the friendly staff, welcoming patrons, and relaxed environment, it's a great place to catch a game, grab some drinks, and strike up a conversation with fellow fans. I'd gladly return the next time I'm looking for a friendly spot to watch sports and enjoy some local company.

Flinchy's is a very solid American restaurant/bar in Lemoyne, PA. My companion and I have visited…read moremany times over the years and have had good experiences every time. We dropped by for lunch on a recent weekday. She ordered "The Meltdown" as her meal whike I had the "What The Weck" sandwich. Both were excellent, and my sandwich was a decent approximation of a Buffalo NY favorite (roast beef on a kimmelweck roll). Authentic "weck" is impossible to find in this area and I appreciated their attempt. Our bartender/server also brought additional chips for The Meltdown after we devoured the first batch. Whatever tortilla chips Flincy's uses are slightly thicker and ideal for this queso dip. Service here is fast and friendly. There's a large indoor bar/seating area as well as a nice outdoor bar. The outdoor space is enclosed and heated during cooler months and is a great open air spot when the weather warns up. Full bar, nice beer selection, and a decent wine selection for a place like this.
