French Toast and Egg Plate

Such a classic corner diner. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The servers are all very funny and clearly care about making sure the restaurant sticks around for years to come. This is a great place for a casual weekend brunch with family and friends when you don't feel like cooking. Love!

Great neighborhood place to grab a bite and a drink. Friendly people, clean, good food. We order a breakfast sandwich came with hash browns, and a #1 (eggs, bacon, pancakes). We were happy satisfied campers

Three meat omelett with veggies.

This place took me by surprise. When we were searching for diners and came across this restaurant I was skeptical cause of the pictures I saw but on getting there it was very different from my imagination. The ambiance was GREAT! It was very neat and gave me nostalgia cause I am a diner person. The food was amazing, cooked fresh! We started with the rice chicken soup and it was so tasty. Even the Lipton tea I had there was amazing! I ordered a three meat omelet and it was really tasty! The server a kind nice lady was amazing too. In fact if I can give more than 5 star I would. I HIGHLY recommend!

How the gyros meat looked 5 minutes after picking up

This has got to be one of the worst efforts I've seen from a restaurant, we ordered a Turkey and gyros plate and it was literally the worst cooked meal I've had in a long time, I would've preferred fast food from the dollar menu over this. The gyros was burned to a crisp and looks like it had been re-heated and the turkey club had no bacon so when I called to ask why it didn't have bacon I was told that the one with bacon is the turkey clubhouse ?!?!? I live less than a block away and will never return to this place, not to mention the turkey seemed like it's been in the fridge for weeks. No pride in what they do here.

Burgundy Restaurant is located on the southeast corner of Austin and Irving Park. I feel that almost every neighborhood needs a family-friendly, affordable diner place like this. Fortunately, Burgundy offers "breakfast-all-day" option and it's open until 10pm from Mondays to Saturdays, and 9pm on Sundays. Breakfast is Rosa's favorite meal because it may be the only meal she can have in a peaceful, non-hectic setting. However, hubby and I wanted to grab a quick bite before heading to a friend's Halloween party. We ordered these following dishes: - tuna melt: it came with soup (navy bean soup was his choice) and fries, unless you ask for a special accommodation. Hubby munched it quickly before I had a chance to talk to him. I guess I was caught up with the soccer game playing on TV. - steak skillet: it came with a choice of toast (wheat in my case). Poached eggs were done impeccably! Those were really the highlights. Otherwise, the steak and hash browns were passable. Hubby also requested coffee, so the grand total came to $24 after tax. Credit cards are accepted, yet unsure about the minimum purchase. Like I have mentioned in the first paragraph, a diner like Burgundy is essential for a neighborhood. It's within walking distance and I know I will be back for certain.

Hard-working kitchen does a great job. Loved my Pancake Sandwich.

I disliked the meal I had here today. Chicken was bland and tasteless and I was given 1 hard dinner roll. Too pricey for dull food.

One thing that really stood out is that everything is made from scratch, from the bread to the jam, which gives the whole experience a homemade, comforting feel. The portions are very generous, so you're definitely getting your money's worth. On top of that, the service was friendly and impressively quick despite how busy it was. That said, the pancakes personally weren't my favorite. They weren't bad, just not something I'd go back specifically for. Overall, it's a solid spot with great service and quality food. I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu next time.

And I know they got…read morethe money to do it cuz... my husband ordered a skillet (and upgraded to pancakes) and I got an omelette (which needed to be sent back cuz it was still runny on the inside). We ordered a coffee and a Diet Coke. Our bill was OVER $70. SEVENTY dollars. I always say I believe in paying good money for good food but the juice just wasn't worth the squeeze. And this is on top of the city parking you have to pay to eat there. It's just craziness. I will say that the toast was pretty delicious. The server was nice enough. The bathrooms were downstairs and needed attention.

The atmosphere was so…read morecute and charming, and as a Shameless fan, it was especially fun knowing this was the spot where Fiona worked on the show. Everything we ordered was delicious. I had the corned beef hash, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, while my husband ordered the Mexican omelet with taco meat, and he couldn't stop talking about how good it was. We also enjoyed an iced coffee and a chocolate shake, both of which were fantastic. Of course, we couldn't resist trying a few extras, so we ordered the chocolate-covered pancakes and potato pancakes for the table. Both were incredible and the perfect addition to our meal. Between the delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and friendly service, this was such a great experience. We will definitely be back the next time we're craving an amazing breakfast or brunch. Highly recommend!

I would assume a place where the newest thing since the 1980s is the security camera would have vinyl with more cracks and patina than my trusty old leather jacket! But no, it's in fantastic shape. Especially given that, the vibe in here is awesome! It's like stepping through a time-portal. For food, I ordered an old favorite: Pigs in Blankets. The food came out fast, though, to be fair, there was only one other person dining in at the time. The sausage links were crisp, and the pancakes were lightly sweet and fluffy. All in all, great! While perhaps not enough to summon the Michelin Guide inspectors, it was better than the average greasy spoon. Finally, I really appreciate that the prices are reasonable, and that there is parking! Final verdict: I've had a small handful of spectacular breakfasts. I've also had criminal breakfasts, where two unsalted eggs, two bacon strips, and a tablespoon of potatoes costs $14.95. Golden House Restaurant & Pancake House finds itself in that sweet spot in between - it is neither a spectacular spot (often have prices to boot), nor is it an overpriced, underwhelming greasy spoon that stays in business thanks to regulars who have been coming for decades and don't want anything better.
