After a full day of traveling with furry ones, we opted for stopping in the area for a break.... We were looking for a good hamburger place and Ike's was closed. Well, it doesn't advertise that they're a smash burger place or we would've chosen different. My daughter's burger was so over done, it was crunchy! I went back to try this place again as I haven't gone since they first opened and wanted to see if they had made any improvements or changes. We got the loaded fries this time for the appetizer. I will say their queso taste different from other places it has more of a different flavor and a little spice but the fries were my favorite . As far as the burgers, they were very dense and packed with jalapeños. I like jalapeños but they just put way too many on all menu items we ordered for it to be enjoyable. It overcomes all the other flavors. They were cooked to our liking but we both didn't eat more than half of the burger. For the sides, the caesar salad is okay, nothing spectacular. The max and cheese is more of a cold pasta salad than actual mac and cheese or "southern mac and cheese" I believe it's made with mayonnaise and we were not a fan of that. I do like the place and it's location and perhaps would purchase something different but I'm a little disappointed because I had very high expectations. I definitely would not choose this place if you want an american burger. Overall an okay local place with fantastic service but needs to work on the food and we paid $45 for everything not including tip for two. read more

I had such an incredible time at Burgar! Fresh food, friendly staff, and an overall fun environment. I was able to try several burgers and they were each packed full of flavor. I was able to try the Southwest, the Texas Burger, and the Hold My Bun. I also ordered the Triple Dip Cajun Wedge Fries for an appetizer and was pleasantly surprised. I hadn't realized exactly what I had ordered until they brought out a tray with wedge fries with several different cups with house salsa, quest, and guacamole. I love being able to mix and match food and to really take in the flavor. It was so So amazing. Very fresh and enhanced the flavor. I had never had anything like it! I also tried the sides of Mac and Cheese, the Avo-Caesar Salad, and the fries. The next time that I go by I will definitely be ordering the Triple Dip Cajun Wedge Fries, Texas Burger with a side of the Mac and Cheese. My daughter saw this restaurant on Yelp and suggested we give it a try. We did today. It was approximately 11:30 am and there's only one other customer in here. Should have been a RED FLAG! I had a nice sized serving of Buffalo Wings and my daughter did the create your own burger deal. I swear my wings were possibly several days old. They were a bit twangy! They were dry and the meat was tuff. Also they were not sauced at all. What a big let down! A wing lover knows when something is amiss and it definitely was today.My daughter had a burger that she described as being average and nothing special. She gave it three stars! Generous I'd say based on the look on her face as she ate it. The price for my wings has increased from 16.00 and change to well over19.00! Tax included was 20.71. WOW!! Second time eating here and just as good as the first time. As a "transplant" from San Diego, this is the best food spot in Spartanburg and reminds me of SoCalifornia grub I've been missing! When I walked in the smell just about knocked you over. It smelled like a combination of cooked cabbage and mold inside. It made my throat close even with a mask on. I would have left immediately but my lunch partner chose this place so we sat outside. Even still, Every time the door opened we caught a waft of the smell. I hope they had some type of weird issue going on that day because I cannot fathom asking people to work with that smell. Our waitress was not well versed on the menu so we fended for ourselves and figured out what was vegan and/or dairy free on the menu. The fries were really delicious but my beyond burger was way way undercooked. You can't cook a meat substitute burger to medium or at a minimum ask instead of assuming. They really should be cooked well done. We got our bill and paid but sat around for a few minutes. Our waitress came back through and somehow only then realized she'd rung us up incorrectly. She made a large production about taking my card, issuing a refund, recharging me at a higher amount, etc. It felt really unprofessional for a few dollars.
