Hello, l am a new customer at Burke. The man who signed me up offered a wonderful package, including full service. I had no hot water yesterday. I called and spoke to Liz. She was so helpful and supportive. She said someone would be at my home between 10pm-3am. I explained if they weren't here when l needed to retire for the night, l would call her and we could reschedule. Around 11pm a worker appeared. Ryan was extremely thorough and explained what he found that seemed to have been causing the issue. He was friendly, and most helpful. I am so grateful l became a Burke customer last year. Stay away from them. Bait and switch. Offered me a $125 credit to use them for oil service. Rwentged the house and the renter stayed with them as the oil delivery company. Wanted their credit back and would not give it to the new renter. Tried to call them and on hold forever. They call back at the most inconvenient times and then you can't speak to anyone. Now charging me interest on the credit they gave me. So fed up with dealing with this I almost just want to pay it but it's the principle that's stopping me. read more

They enroll you into a contract without letting you know. Then they do auto-deliveries without any advance notice and charge you for what you didn't request, and then cancellation fees on top of that. Stay away from this company! read more

I've been a Burke Energy customer since 2021. I signed up for maintenance service. That year, the extension tank attached to the water heater was leaking. So I called them, they came, removed it, and installed a new valve for which I had to pay, but they took the extension tank away, the tech guy said I do not need it. I've investigated this now, and it's false; of course, it's necessary and because it is not there, the pipe relief is leaking all the time. I, unaware of the situation, since then I have collected the dripping water in a 3-gallon water container. I have to empty it every week to keep the floor dry. So, when I neglect this activity, I have a puddle of water under my house in my engine room. The point is, as a result of this leaking, I consume more oil. I've filed a complaint by phone and they tell me it will take 48 hours, and they haven't told me anything from then. I called them on May 13th, on May 16th, they said not answer yet, they called me today 19th, letting me know to call them back, so I called and supervisor was not available. this is an unacceptable, It is totally unacceptable that they do not take responsibility for these situations. read more

after over 23 years of business with Burke i recently moved. I set up a new account with them at my new address because even though they are not the cheapest, its been a good company. Unfortunately, they were unable to close my old account even after several phone calls. THEN they CHARGED ME $653 FOR FUTURE SERVICE AGGREMENT ON THE OLD ACCOUNT EVEN THOUGH I SPOKE TO THEM SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR TO THE CHARGE. its really disgusting the treatment i received. I will be closing all business with burke heat as soon as i receive my refund!! read more

This review is more a matter of complimenting a particular tech, Ryan, to whose manager I have already left a voicemail. The techs have been fine overall, but Ryan's work in CLEARLY identifying and communicating understandably a pervasive AC problem (that other techs had merely suggested), and finding a clear solution to get us back up and running was nothing short of extraordinary. read more

We have been experiencing a number of issues with our water heater. On a number of occasions, we have been without hot water in the late evening. When we call off hours, they've been responsive. Fernando did a great job, as did George, ensuring we had the new parts on the unit. read more

after 27 years with a previous supplier we changed to Burke last fall. Every interaction with this company was handled professional and efficient. Burke sent Mr. Sean Ryan (#62) to service our heating equipment today. Mr. Ryan took his time explaining issues that were not covered under contract. At all times Mr. Ryan was personable, professional and courteous. Congratulations to whomever decided to hire Mr. Ryan. Horribly un ethical business. Between not accepting my cancellation and trying to sneak in fuel deliveries in, to billing me late fee's for a service contract I don't have to inflating oil prices at the end of my annual ceiling contract this company is awful. We used them for years and were happy. But in the last couple of years Burke has gone down hill fast. With all the other options out there I can't understand why anyone would do business with these clowns. read more

We recently had Fujitsu ductless mini splits installed in our home. Overall, we were very happy with the entire process-from the estimate to the finished product. John, the install manager, took his time to insure us that we would be happy with how everything was going to be done. He answered all of our questions and addressed any concerns that we had. The install team-James, Ryan and Don were very knowledgeable and worked efficiently together. Everyone was professional, courteous and careful in our home. My review is about Michael Zvonik who is the delivery manager at Burke and as far as I'm concerned the best thing that Burke has going for it. Over the 7 years I've been a Burke customer there have been many things that have gone wrong but once I was connected to Michael, even when things went wrong, he made them right. Michael cares about his customers and knows his system and what he can and can't do and he will work hard to get you taken care of. I continue to be impressed by his level of service and care. The rest of Burke should take a page from his book and rise up to his level of customer service. read more

What can I say Joe F is one of a kind. He's been to my house twice in the last 2-3 months. One to replace my mixing valve and than one to service our AC unit. Both times my newborn was sleeping when he arrived. Joe was extremely quiet during both services he even held the glass screen door every time he went out side. How awesome is that!!! He was beyond my expectations of a service guy he was so nice and respectful! He went above and beyond during both his times here. I have been a loyal customer of Burke Energy close to 20 years. My boiler has broken down sometimes late at night or during a holiday. The service has always been exceptional. Today I had my annual cleaning and tune up of my boiler and I just have to compliment the tech who came to my home. His name is Zach Ryan a wonderful young man who was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and took the time to explain things about my boiler. I I just purchased my first home back in April in Carmel NY, and decided to contract Burke for my oil, Boiler/furnace and Hvac needs. I must say I am truly disappointed with the Hvac service I have received thus far. I reached out to Burke back in late July because I found water on the floor leaking from the furnace and my unit stop blowing cold air. I called on Friday and the Technician arrived Saturday. He troubled shoot the situation and found that I needed a new condensation pan and was low on refrigerant. He said that his manger will reach out to place the order for the pan. No one ever reached out until I finally decided to make a call two weeks later (August). I finally got hold Of the manager and he explained that he needed to order the part and that it would take several weeks. Once they received the part, they called me to schedule the appointment, which they had to cancel twice due to rain. After the two prior cancellations, on the third scheduled appointment I was able to have a technician come to my home to preform the work. After several hours of work, and now a lost day of work and wages, the technician had to break the news that they had ordered the wrong part. At this point I was in complete disappointment. The technician was very nice and apologetic. Fast forward, I then received a call from the branch to reschedule my appointment (September)for the following week. I again take off from work on 9-15, send the kids to the sitter and receive a call at 7:45 am that they "apologize but we are going to have to once again reschedule the appointment". At this point i became completely discouraged and have lost trust in Burke's ability to ever get the work done. Unfortunately, I have already committed to a contact with them for a year. However, I am strongly considering not renewing my contact with them and looking elsewhere for all my future oil, heating and Hvac needs. Burke has shown me that I can no longer rely on them for any of my future needs. read more

This is my first and LAST year with this company. I waited several months to get a service appointment and when the day arrives I am told my appointment window will be from 9-12. My husband had to leave work to wait around while I picked my kid up from preschool as it fell during this window of time. At 12 pm I called them to find out why they weren't there yet. The woman tells me they won't be there until 4:30! Why they couldn't be bothered to give me a call earlier in the day to let me know they changed my time is horrible business practice. My husband is a small business owner and lost revenue due to their inability to effectively communicate with their paying customers. I understand emergencies happen and of course I expect emergencies to take precedent over a service call but there is no excuse to not notify someone if you change an appointment. Shame on you Burke Heat! read more

I have been whit Burke heat for almost 20 years I Kwon no one is perfect but is no reason for all I went through. It took 3 months to get an appointment which it was 8 to 12 they guy came at 3:30 no called to let me Kwon I call the office end they treat customers like idiots because they are so smart they even hand up on me I had an emergency my father was been operated end here I am wasting my time end took the day of to . The service sucks I am ready to move out end they want to put the blame on the guys that they do the job , he was to nice end apologize to me more than he had to I am very unhappy customer. read more

I had no service contract, although I have had in the past. Burke came and delivered $1000+ of oil, without asking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then they called and said "we just delivered oil and our price is $2.46/Gallon" .... what a rip off, when every other company around charges 20-50c less per gallon! On the phone they claim "we charge more because we are a full service company, offering exceptional customer service". I retorted (on a recorded line LOL) that we don't use ANY of their other "full services" and just want oil, and that I am highly dis-satisfied with the appalling customer service. Their first rep told me "no you're wrong, our rates are very competitive" which was a flat out lie. Customer service 101 - the customer is always right; especially after I'd called around! I strongly recommend you use a different company vs Burke, or any of their pseudo names like Effron, Meenan, Petro Home services etc (that's real sneaky btw) ............. low integrity. read more

Buyer beware!!! I have been a long term Burke Energy customer of 13 years across two homes and recommended them to multiple people (unfortunately). On my previous home I had an annual price ceiling contract and didn't do much due diligence on their rate. For my current home of 4 years, I signed up during a time when oil prices were pretty high so I didn't lock in a ceiling plan I decided to just pay the going rate with auto-fill, NO service contract, NO anything other than come and fill oil. After referring a friend to Burke he commented on paying $2.82 a gallon. I checked my receipt from the day before and was paying $4.15! Same rate for the previous couple hundred gallons as well. Called customer service and was told that it's like a cable bill and people get introductory rates. They offered me $3.48 as a cap and current rate. I said I'd like to cancel and they called back and offered $3.13 and said that they have great service including budgeting plans and parts on trucks. Again, this is just an auto-delivery service so budget plan doesn't come into play, nor does their great service that ANYONE can call and pay to have work on their system. I thought that sounded reasonable so called two places to check Heritage Oil and Servall. Both were between $2.63 and $2.84 per gallon. No introductory rate, that's just THE going rate for oil. So in short, I've been getting charged 57% over the cost of oil for NO REASON. Scammers. Complete thieves. Don't assume that these companies are held to charging reasonable prices. Do your homework. I lost thousands of dollars over the past 4 years by using this company. Never again. read more

We recently moved into our home (about 2 months ago), have not yet had a reason for service or to establish a contract. While we were traveling this holiday weekend, my parents stopped at our house and found that it was freezing. They tried to restart the burner, etc, nothing. We found information that Burke had serviced before under the prior residents. My husband reached out to Burke to explain our situation and that it was an emergency, could they please send out a technician. Michele, the representative explained that although they were able to pull up our address they couldn't open a contract for us because we never used them before. We offered to give a credit card, pay extra, whatever it would take, but she simply stated she couldn't help us. We were sitting in the airport waiting for our flight home trying every place we could find, but no luck. It's Christmas Eve, no one was answering. I called Michele to possibly plead for someone, as it's Christmas we have a son and dog and no heat. She again stated that it's policy they cannot send someone to help. I wished her a warm Merry Christmas and ended the call. A few minutes later I received a call from someone else at Burke - to confirm they cannot help us. I asked for a little bit of compassion, but was simply told this is policy, we can't help. I also wished her a WARM merry Christmas, to wish she replied, whatever and hung up.
