Then they told me to first reach out to the small business it was from, because they would likely fix it for much less or even free. I did as they suggested and the original jeweler is repairing the seating issue for free, and the prong for $40. I have since gone back to have a different gold ring and a silver bracelet repaired and they did excellent work on both. Honest, friendly, and reliable--Bryn Mawr has our business for life!

Pam and Pat Holtzmann are the most phenomenal folks around. When you're in their store, you feel like family. They are super friendly, and made you feel comfortable from the get-go. They are both super patient, and they really take the time to educate you on different stones, and different aspects of design to help make sure that you're creating a jewelry piece that will last a lifetime with proper care. We ended up having my engagement ring and my husband's wedding ring made by them, and then after having my husbands wedding ring made, I ended up wanting to make a more feminine, mini-version of his ring to be able to wear myself as well, and they helped us make that too. The quality of the jewelry pieces we received is outstanding, and working with Pam and Pat was the same. We valued getting to work with them so closely on pieces we plan to wear a lifetime! Although we had rings made, Holtzmann's specializes in all types of custom jewelry. We happened to pop into the store at the tail end of another couple leaving who had the most beautiful custom bracelet made, and at another visit saw someone picking up a necklace that they had redesigned with stones from a different necklace they no longer wore anymore. A friend highly recommended this place so I was super excited to check it out! However, that all came to an end yesterday. I found Larry's assistant very dismissive and not interested at all in doing any business with me for some reason. I called to make an appointment to check out some settings and diamonds to purchase "the ring" but was told I should go elsewhere to do my research and know exactly what I want before going to them. I was taken back as I gave them my ring size, stone shape, carat size, range I wanted to spend and setting I wanted. I guess that wasn't enough information apparently and also was told they had limited inventory due to safety reasons. I was super bummed but found a couple other places nearby that I ended up making appointments with that will actually help me and take my business elsewhere! read more

He started me off with a diamond tutorial on more than just the 4 Cs. We covered table, depth, fluorescence, etc. Based on my price range, Jeff pulled five diamonds that satisfied the myriad categories covered in the tutorial. I didn't feel pressured at all to buy the most expensive diamond or stretch my budget. He said that the extra money I'd pay for a higher quality diamond would not translate to a more beautiful ring. After selecting the stone, Jeff's set it in less than a day. He set the diamond in a simple, thin platinum band to complement my fiancee's dainty hands. The prices are tremendous as the cost was only 51.6% of the appraised value. As I left, Jeff let me know, "If she doesn't like it, rejected the proposal, or whatever, just bring it back. No problem." Well, my fiancee just returned from the re-sizing, and she had a similar pleasant and speedy experience. Jeff encouraged her to bring the ring back every 6 months for a polishing. When she asked what the re-sizing and polishing would cost, he responded, "Geoffrey basically paid for all that." My fiancee absolutely loves the ring. It's beautiful and I have Jeff to thank for that. Fast service + great prices + no pressure + good selection = 5 stars
