This was an amazing random find while passing the area. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful! The inside has a cute section for selling cute small items and miscellaneous things. They offer a small selection of baked goods and brunch foods. I have yet to try them. They had a nice variety of seasonal flavors and different hot and cold beverages. They sell whole beans and had over a dozen varieties with good descriptions of the beans and the notes. I bought a bag of beans to try at home and they do a punch card promotion in addition to giving you a free hot coffee to go for the bad of coffee bought. This gave me an option to try another type of coffee. I got the black sesame iced latte and it was delicious. You can smell the toasted sesame scent but the flavor was not super sweet. Stopped in on a whim for a quick bite---had a Latte and Ricotta Toast w/house made Ricotta and lemon zest finished w/sea salt flakes and a drizzle of EVO. They have gluten free bread options and I chose raisin walnut. I don't usually eat toast but I thought this sounded really good. The house made ricotta was so creamy, the lemon zest so fresh and the sea salt and EVO brought out all the flavors and took this toast to a really nice place. It's fun to watch the coffee beans being roasted in house right near the pickup area. Service was great and the staff are very knowledgeable about the food and the coffee process. Cute place with lots of plants and jewelry and candles and such to look at. It's my oldest daughter's favorite place to get coffee. I didn't try the coffee but grabbed a couple of the breakfast wraps to take home. They were good but on the smaller size for the price, in my opinion. I will have to give the coffee a try next time. This is a long overdue review! During the pandemic, I would come to this coffee shop almost every day -- one of the only activities during those days that I had looked forward to. Six or so years later and after moving to Florida, I still look forward to the times I am able to stop by and pick up an avocado toast and a latte. I have never been disappointed! UPDATE: Stopped back at this kitschy spot because I really want to like it; I'm just never in the area. Decided to go in a different direction and had a matcha latte with oat milk and it definitely didn't disappoint! Unsweetened matcha lattes are quite difficult to come by for some reason, and this one is delicious. 10/10 recommend! Burlap and Bean has become our go-to coffee shop in Media when we are in-town visiting family from Chicago. Of all the competition in the area: Burlap is the standout for a variety of reasons. First, it is the best tasting and highest quality coffee. From drip/black coffee to fancy/creative espresso drinks: you can't go wrong. Everything is delicious and will meet your coffee needs. Some personal favorites are the nitro cold brew and seasonal lattes such as the Honey Bee Latte. Second, the food is delicious! I've had a couple of their salads and the quantity, quality, and freshness is divine. I had the strawberry almond salad today and it was perfect on this hot day. My husband had the avocado toast and it was scrumptious. They do not hold back on the avocado or other ingredients, creating a hearty and flavorful experience! Third, the staff are friendly, the location is clean and inviting, and the plants/pots are fun to look over as you wait! We love it and always look forward to the next stop. Haven't been here in ages but thought I'd try it out again. Got a 12oz iced lavender latte with oatmilk today. Very delicious and they roast their own coffee in house which is cool. I thought it was interesting the only sizes they have are 12oz and 20oz for their iced coffee. A 12oz was $6.47 which is pretty pricey. I know oatmilk is extra and I know lattes aren't typically cheap but I don't know, it just seemed high. The cups are also a dome shape, narrow at the bottom, and wider at the top and for some reason it just doesn't seem like 12oz of coffee to me and seems more like 8. I could be wrong, maybe it was just the shape throwing me off? Good for a treat every now and then. Latte was very delicious. Service was friendly. read more

I loved the Black Sesame Iced Coffee which was amazing. I tried a few of the breakfast items but highly recommend the yogurt bowls which have a bunch of different customizable toppings. Service is good lately but the seating area smelled like gasoline and the smell didn't go away even after 30 mins. I didn't want to rush to leave but didn't want to be breathing that in. Coffee is good but the grilled cheese was a big disappointment, I got the grilled cheese that had tomato, cheese, pickles and bacon. It tasted so bland and barely had any bacon in it. I cannot say enough about this amazing coffee house! The quality and flavor of their coffee is incredible. Their menu offers a wide variety of interesting flavors and combinations for drinks. The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff is always kind and you are greeted with a smile. The location is dynamic in that there is a beautiful park across the street (if you are looking to take a stroll with coffee in hand) and if not they offer a inviting patio for you to sit and enjoy your beverage. I recently moved to Media and checked out Burlap and Bean for the first time today. I've tried quite a few coffee shops in town so far, and this has become a favorite for sure! The Excalibur roast was excellent, and I believe the price point was reasonable (~$3 for a VERY good large hot coffee). The staff was personable and friendly, and they made great recommendations. The shop offers breakfast and lunch items, and I'll certainly be back to try some of their many toasts! Seating was limited to outdoors (which it was too cold for in January), but this would be a lovely place to sit down at in the spring. The shop atmosphere is trendy, clean, and calm, and it showcases plants available for purchase and local artists' work. My favorite part of the ambiance was the sustainable book exchange. I'll be back to try more menu items, and I'll be sure to bring a book with me to exchange! read more

This is by far my favorite cafe in Media. I usually always get the Cafe Meil and it is just the best. I even recreate it at home when I'm not able to go there. It's delicious both hot or on ice. I also just tried their toasted almond latte and it was great! I will definitely order it again. I am obsessed with all of their toasts. My favorite is probably the ricotta lemon toast. Their hummus feta toast is great and so is their avocado toasts you pretty much can't go wrong with whatever you order there. I even tried the maple tahini banana toast which sounds different but was actually very delicious. It's on the sweeter side so make sure you are a "sweets" person if you order it. This place is very cute, the menu is interesting, coffee tasty and the staff very nice but I can't give it 5 stars because it is the slowest coffee place I've ever been to! I've been here three times and waited more than 20 minutes each time. Initially, there was a long line which I thought explained my 30 minute wait my first visit. But this time... there was no one ordering in front of me and it took 20 minutes for an iced mocha and avocado toast. I appreciate they make things fresh (they cut the avocado right then) ... But watching the girl make it felt like I was watching molasses fall down a tree. I don't think she could've gone any slower if she tried. I appreciate taking time and not being rushed but a coffee shop where there is no dine in is not the place to practice this. I watched them make two other toast before me and it really seemed like it took 10 to 15 minutes for them to put spread on bread. Also, avocado toast that was pretty basic was $8 which is a bit overpriced. I could justify the cost if it didn't take so so long to make maybe! If the manager is reading this, maybe have the employees just put a LITTLE more pep in their step. read more

They have a beautiful indoor space with big windows, lots of cute succulent plants, big tables and absolutely NO CHAIRS. The only seating is outside. This was very confusing as we would have loved to enjoy the indoor space and it was a chilly day. The breakfast wrap was really tasty though. There are two kinds of porridge, savory and sweet, and I got the first one without parmesan cheese. It has steel cut oatmeal, sweet potato, kale pumpkin seeds, with sea salt and black pepper. It was delicious! $6 was worth it because it was enough for a meal. There are several other vegan options although you need to customize some to make it vegan. Coffee is good layout is really bad. Servers seem like they have a little bit of an attitude problem and maybe not the best hygienic practices. I didn't really mind the wait today for my refill of cold brew because I got to really watch the operation. my server with the strap tank top wiped the corners of her mouth with her thumb and index finger and just continued working. That's what got me to notice her outfit with her phone hanging out at the back pocket. The layout of the store needs Improvement hopefully they will see that over time, there is no ability to stand in line when you walk in the door and the second person in line is in front of you. Shifting the cash register to the end of the counter would help alleviate this and maybe showcase some of their offerings next to customers as they wait in line to order. The self service coffee fixing station needs to be shifted to the wall where presently file boxes are. People who presently congregate in front of the straws and Lids are blocking other patrons access. read more

I love this place! Very accomodating staff. Can't wait for them to open up the sit down tables and sip coffee from a ceramic cup and saucer like normal. Because of the virus hoax, i've only been able to drink their take away coffee in paper cups which does affect the taste of the coffee slightly but, I'm very grateful this place exists. The lattes here far outdo anything dunkin doughnuts, starbucks, or wawa could dream of making. This cafe is an authentic coffee caffe specializing in real coffee/espresso drinks. I feel like I'm back in L.A. at one of the myriad of excellent coffee caffes when I come here. Let me start by saying that this is a lovely place. It would be a great hangout to do work but... the açaí bowl is really a chia pudding bowl and I don't do chia pudding. Chia seeds on my açaí bowl I do but not chia pudding. So that was disappointing- twice. I also tried the lavender latte and honestly it tasted like soap. I could not come close to finishing it.
