1970 called and they want their flowers back. My dear friend, who lives in London, always sends me a beautiful floral arrangement for my birthday. Every year they are spectacular....but they were never from here, until this year. I know she spends a lot and she is a classy gal with great taste. I just feel so bad for her because I feel like they ripped her off and figured she would never know. i used to work for a florist many years ago so I know there's less than $10 worth of flowers in there. 5 carnations, 4 Gerbera daisies, 2 small clusters of white mums and a couple of stems of alstroemeria....and lots and lots of filler Like purple statice. Cheap and tacky. Safeway and Trader Joe's has better flowers. It also looks like it was sitting around awhile because the water was already a little gross. I am shocked that a "professional florist" in an upscale area would not look at what the competition is doing and see what the current trends are and up their game. Oh man. This place is just not even trying you guys! My husbands grandmother passed away and his boss and co-workers sent him flowers. What arrived was just awful. We got a sparkle pink vase with tons of filler that was shedding dust everywhere and like 6 roses. It was so ugly we actually had a good laugh! Just ran in to buy Mother's Day orchid. Wanted a white one but it didn't look too nice so I chose the pale pink one. Price seemed fine. Horrible experience. This shop is heartless! I ordered wreaths for my mom's funeral. The flower they delivered was dry, old and looked like being used. The wreaths came with no ribbon even though I gave specific instructions to them for the writing on the ribbon. Super! Walked in on a Saturday morning wanting a bouquet for my mother's birthday. Got helped right away. Talked about colors and she asked if I trusted her putting together a bouquet. I did. Told her my price range and 10-15 minutes later I had a gorgeous bouquet in a vase ready to take to mom. Definitely more flowers for my money than my typical choice of florist!!! Laguna Florist did the flowers for my San Mateo wedding. I worked with them through my catering vendor, Cheat a Little catering. I am giving them 4 stars since I did not interact with anyone at Laguna myself. Thus, I cannot comment on their customer service. I provided sample images to my caterer, which he shared with Laguna. Their prices for guest table florals and wedding party flowers (including bridal bouquet) were very reasonable for the area. The flowers were beautiful - I selected orchid plants for the tables and guests were thrilled to take them home. The wedding party bouquets were as fragrant and wild as I hoped - a mix of herbs, succulents and a few pops of bright color. I was very pleased with the flowers and on-time delivery. read more

I gave this store 3 stars because I have mixed experiences with them. I ordered a big bouquet at the school beginning last year. It was such an amicable experience! The lady with long hair who helped me quickly put a beautiful bouquet together, and it was reasonably priced. So today, the last day of school year, I went there at the last minute to get a small bouquet for a little kid. The lady with short hair helped. She told me with my budget it will be very small, I told her that's what I am looking for. She put something together, I just run away. On the road, I noticed the flowers were not fresh, most of them withered. The worst part is, she even didn't tie the bouquet very well, it fall apart when I run. A totally waste of money. My husband was away on travel for our 20th anniversary. He was so thoughtful to order me flowers for delivery but I have to say I'm so very, very disappointed in the quality. I think he went through FTD & they contracted with Laguna. For $120 dollars I expected fresh stargazer lilies - hubby knows they are my favorite. When looking up this florist, their website popped up with the usual visual display of flowers and what could be ordered. I chose the orchids in a stained glass 6" container. But it turns out that the orchids arrived in a glass container, no different from a drinking glass. All this for $65 plus tax and delivery which came to nearly $82! When I called the shop to complain about the appearance of the container which I discovered quite by accident, the excuse was that I probably talked to someone "after hours". (The orchids were chosen specifically because of the container.) Poor excuse. Nothing offered to improve the plant. Would I do business with them again? Absolutely NOT. read more

I don't understand some of the bad reviews. I had arranged to have Laguna Florist to decorate my wedding reception and do my bouquets. The flower arrangments were beautiful. I got a lot of comments from my wedding guests. They asked where I got them. I told them at Laguna Florist of course. Lucy at Laguna Florist worked with me on my flower arrangements a few months before my wedding and she worked with me to create the perfect 2 wedding bouquets. Few weeks before my wedding, I had second thoughts to the flower arrangements. Lucy said no problem! She was happy to accomodate my changes. The flower arrangements came out lovely. I have a confession to make - I have a love/hate relationship with flowers: They're so beautiful, but I hate the idea of spending so much on something that will die so fast. But my sweetie over the last few years has sent me dozen long stem roses (orange and/or yellow with red tips... my favorite) from here. Not only are they just beautiful, they seem to last for a long time. The couple times floral arrangements were delivered to me at work, the ladies would rave about how gorgeous they were and often would stop by me desk just to smell them. I ordered flowers online in the morning for same day delivery to my boyfriend for his birthday. I received a confirmation email but was not told a time when it would be delivered. I assumed they would be delivered during standard business hours (9am-5pm), but they were not. When I tried emailing and calling, the person I spoke to said the delivery people were on their way. They got there AFTER my boyfriend had left, and just left the flowers outside. I had to go drive to my boyfriend's office, pick the flowers up, and bring them to him at home. When I emailed in my frustration and disappointment with the service, the customer service person just told me that there was a place to put my desired delivery time on the online form. There's a space for special requests but there's a disclaimer that specific time requests cannot be honored...so that discouraged me from adding any specific time. What it comes down to is a terrible online system and mediocre customer service. read more

Laguna Florist provided all of the flowers for my wedding this past Sat. 9/10/11 and they were absolutely beautiful! I first went in for a consultation and received a quote from the owner, Lucy. She was very helpful in suggesting flower choices for strength and color combinations for my theme. Her prices were also very affordable. The potted flowers died within 2 days. I called up the Burlingame Laguna floral shop and the manager claimed I didnt water the flowers that's why they died. These guys are fantastic. They do great work and it was really pleasant to work with them. We needed an arrangement that contained thistles for a funeral. With less than 24hrs notice, they came through with a beautiful arrangement that exceeded our expectations. We had known that thistles are difficult to find for floral arrangements. The weekend that we needed the arrangement, no one had them in stock. Instead of just giving up, they researched thistles and obtained a similar flower in the same family. I was pleasantly surprised to have flowers delivered to me at work for my birthday last Monday. Unfortunately, the next day the roses were still frozen shut and crepey, the carnations were turning black around the edges. I called on Friday and never received a response. The Safeway roses that I received on the same day still look gorgeous, but the expensive arrangement is ready to be dumped. read more

I don't know where to begin! This company is so unprofessional. A colleague bought flowers from this company and gave them to our office. The flowers died in 2 days!! I contacted the company and they acted like I was lying. She had me send pictures and when I did, she said that she saw nothing wrong with the flowers and that she doesn't know what I did to them???!! She then wanted to charge me a $15 fee to have the new flowers delivered. They are literally blocks away from my work.
