I went to their shop on a Monday and Ordered a funeral arrangement /spray for a Friday service at the church for a total of $360. I chose the Paradise spray as the young man who had passed away really liked Hawaii. I asked the young lady that took the order whether it's large or if I pay more would it be larger and she said all the sprays are the same size and if you pay more, they would just add more flowers but the size would be the same. So, I asked her to charge me more for more flowers $300 and go from there. Told her it's for a young man who has passed away and I want it to be special. After calling someone to make sure they can do this arrangement due to the fact that they were very busy with weddings that weekend, She assured me that it would be done and made special. She even said that they have all the flowers in-season to be able to make this spray. At he church service on Friday I was so EMBARRASSED by the arrangement. It was small and not balanced (maybe it was missing the leaves around it... not sure) but it looked terrible or maybe the florist just didn't take the time to arrange in properly. I think they should not take additional business when they cannot handle it. I know the cost of a funeral spray does not compare to the revenue they get for a wedding but this was important to me and I wanted something special for my loved one. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to take a picture because I did not want anyone associating those flowers with me. After calling the store, a couple of people (Regina and then Mark) called me back and just apologized; At first offering to refund me 50% but then rescinding that offer. Their messages mentioned that I was charged appropriately for the arrangement and they would contact me but I never heard back after leaving my review. There should be better training of their staff when a customer orders so they do not give the wrong information about the size of an arrangement and also, not take on additional business when they cannot handle it. Think twice about ordering a one-off arrangement from here; their focus is only on big-ticket revenue from weddings. read more

My favorite flower arrangements from my boyfriend have all come from Blossoms & Botanicals. Yes, they're on the pricier side, but in my opinion they are absolutely worth it. Today I received an early Valentine's Day bouquet of red roses and it was absolutely STUNNING! I'm really bummed they're no longer at Hillsdale Shopping Center, but the service and overall experience are still superb. Their attention to detail never goes unnoticed; the arrangements truly feel like works of art, and Blossoms always delivers on that. They also have a wide variety of selection and somehow always have peonies (my favorite) available, even when they're not in season. I used to go to the old location at the mall and although the arrangements were beautiful, I never really enjoyed going to the mall. Also, parking was always frustrating. Plus the traffic buildup to get into the shop was always hard. I recently saw that they moved to Belmont, so I had to stop by and wow. As I was driving down El Camino, I noticed that there was a lot of parking in front, but I decided to park in the back parking lot, which had so much parking! That was a huge plus for me! I was able to walk right up the stairs and make a left to the beautiful new shop . The new location was AMAZING! Super clean, beautiful, and such a great vibe. Plants were everywhere art was hung and such a cute little shop. I noticed that their workspace was incredibly bigger than their old spot which made me happy for them. I recognized Sandra, she was extremely helpful from the moment I walked in. I was looking for a hand-held bouquet for my mom's birthday, and Sandra made it immediately and absolutely nailed it. It was gorgeous and exactly what I had in mind. While I waited, Sandra invited me to check out their Sister shop, which is right next-door that can be entered through their tea lounge. It was a cute mystical store! I would've never imagined this connection between the two! I had myself a cup of tea while I waited, the "mindful "was amazing. The whole experience was easy, warm, and honestly just such a pleasure. I'm so happy they relocated and I will definitely be coming back for sure. Highly recommend! read more

I was recommended this place by a friend, so I decided to order a bouquet for my wedding here. I placed my order in person over a month in advance, but when I came to pick it up on the scheduled date, the store told me they didn't have it. They even made it seem like I never ordered there. As the workers scrambled to figure it out, they said my order was somehow at their other store. That made no sense because I never ordered from there. They gave me the choice to drive there myself or have it delivered to this store within 20 minutes. Since I didn't want to drive, I asked for delivery. The other store is only about a 10-minute drive away, but even after 20 minutes, nothing had arrived. They called the manager or owner, who was apparently at the other store, and even after the second call it seemed like they barely left. It took almost an hour for the flowers to arrive. The whole experience felt really unprofessional, especially since I ordered so far in advance for my wedding. The flowers were just okay and started wilting after a day. I wouldn't recommend this place for anything important. read more

We hired Blossoms and Botanicals for our wedding reception at Domenico Winery in San Carlos, and we were blown away by the product that Regina and her team put together. We didn't know exactly what we wanted when we reached out, but knew she was a preferred vendor at our venue and thought she would have a good idea of what would work in that space. Regina knew the venue inside and out and helped us tweak some of our ideas to work well in the space. She also agreed to try something new that we were interested in, and it worked out so well. She showed us examples of potential arrangements, had several different options for floral arches for photos, and when we ended up with an extra table on the day of was able to put together an extra centerpiece at the last minute. Regina also made sure to wait until the flowers she would be using were in season so we could get the best idea of what our centerpieces would look like. The arrangements and décor themselves were incredible, we got so many compliments from all of our guests at how beautiful and unique the flowers were, and the quality exceeded our expectations on all levels. If we ever need flowers for anything in the future we will be using Blossoms and Botanicals, and definitely recommend them for any special occasion you might need flowers for. read more

This florist literally saved my Valentine's Day. I was taken advantage of by another company who never delivered my arrangement. I got home from work at 7 pm on Valentine's Day to find my order from the other company (Blossom Flower Delivery) was never delivered. I checked the status of that order and it said delivery was completed. The phone number that company provided did not work. I called Blossoms and Botanicals San Mateo by mistake thinking it was the company I placed my order through. Mark who is the owner explained this happens quite regularly that people confuse the two businesses. I then asked if I could place an order for the 15th since it was so late in the day. Mark asked if I would like delivery that same night of the 14th instead. Of course I accepted - and he personally hand delivered himself the most beautiful flower arrangement I've ever received. My wife was ecstatic. He made the delivery 45 minutes after me making the phone call, during the busiest day of the year for florists. He did not take advantage of me on cost. He wouldn't accept gratuity. And he gave me free delivery fees given my circumstance. I could not be more thankful for Mark and the staff of Blossoms and Botanicals in San Mateo for literally saving Valentine's Day for me and my family. Customer service like this simply does not exist anymore. Truly genuinely good people with a great product and top notch service. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Love this shop! It's so beautiful. Nice space and location. My kid enjoys walking through with me too. She's very careful as there are breakable things including gems. She loves the gems and stones! They're usually just making bouquets or doing their own thing which is fine and nice. Someone's always been available if I needed help or had a question. Terrible customer service and disappointing flower arrangements. Not only was there a complete lack of communication between the owners regarding instructions for delivery and "installation", Mark -one of the owners (still can't believe he's an owner- like really? I've read reviews and seems like his behavior toward other customers has been an issue.) He was extremely, extremely rude the moment I opened the door. If you can't do the job you are paid to do, find other ways to make it work or don't offer the services, period. As for the actual arrangements I was told they'd look almost exactly like my inspo photos. Given I paid hefty fee I was excited but nope- not close. They refunded me $200 to make up for the experience but no amount will be enough to cover the way I was treated. I still get so upset thinking about it, or when I look at photos of my baby's first birthday with the flowers in the pictures, or everytime I pass by the store. I used to come here to support a local business but wow, never again. Hope they change because no one should ever have to be treated as disrespectfully as I did. PS: The only positive thing that came out of the interaction was the sweetest girl Kelsey who ended up coming later. She apologized, and hugged me as I cried when I explained how awfully Mark treated me. She is the definition of what great customer service looks like- empathetic, kind, respectful, and there to get the job done. Ended up buying a bouquet here for a bridal shower. Called a week in advance and they were able to make it. I suggest calling earlier just in case they don't have your color, or if they need time for it. After picking up the bouquet, it was a simple transaction, but I wish they would've told me how to take care of it. I ended up asking them how to and then they gave me a "food" packet for the flowers. So if I didn't ask, I don't think I would've gotten that packet. Think they should ask their customers if they would like to know how to take care of the plants they sell. As for price, I cannot tell whether this was considered high or low. I was happy with the batch that was given to me. Parking here is a nightmare on the weekends, plan accordingly. read more

The young woman who took our order was very helpful and made a great suggestion of adding to the standard size when my husband and I couldn't decide between the standard and deluxe sizes. We went in spontaneously because I saw peonies in the chiller which are my favorite flower! Our bouquet was over $100 (without the vase) and included 4 Chilean peonies which were $15/each. So basically $40 for a couple roses and filler. Sadly they didn't last more than a couple of days but certainly for the cost I would expect them to last longer. The rest of the bouquet is dying quickly (it's been less than a week in this picture). We trimmed them every other day and kept them in our dining room which is a rather cool part of the house. I'll have my husband look elsewhere in the future and wait till the summer for peonies. read more

Incredible wedding bouquet from Oct 2023 by Regina! It came out beautiful in the photos!! I became teary eyed when I picked it up - it was perfect. I reached out about a month in advance and passed on my inspiration to Regina. SHE NAILED it! The process was so seamless and the bouquet was ready on time.
