I love coming to this location however they're always shortstaffed The lines are always long. They only have two workers at the front. Most of the time. People allow their children to destroy the place and run around and throw things on the ground. They don't control their kids. And their kids are screaming. The staff shouldn't have to be chasing down somebody else's kids they need to make like a policy or something. I feel like it doesn't have to be that stressful of a environment. I've found a lot of cool stuff here over the years. My white and black paisley shower curtain that I have up right now is from Burlington. I came in the other day, and ended up looking around the whole entire store. The whole building kind of smelled like wet dog. Where there used to be jewelry, now there are just lots of empty racks. I'm not sure if they're doing a re-model or what, but there was a ton of empty space. They had a few cute bags, but nowhere near as many as they used to. Upstairs, it was the same way-- a few cute things, but not much selection. I saw a really cute bicycle planter for like $30 that I thought about getting, but didn't get, so, if anyone is looking for one... Downstairs, I found lots of cute clothes that I wanted to try on, but, the fitting rooms were still closed and roped off. I ended up trying the jackets on in front of the mirrors, and found one that I liked, and bought it. I was disappointed I couldn't try on any of the pants, though, and ended up just putting them back. Overall, I've been pretty satisfied with all of the unique items I've found here over the years, but the selection seems to have gone downhill lately. read more

so I went into Burlington today today is 1216 2024 and I didn't find any type of good deals in there. Everything is still the regular prices. Yeah they got some Christmas sets and some stuff like that but they're still high prices a bunch of junk in Burlington got a bunch of junk trying to sell it to us. Meanwhile, they have perfume all kind of purses and stuff that should be marked down. There's no deals at all at Burlington no 10% unless you get a credit card nothing so what we should do is protest we should start protesting want to raise the prices of everything but then they don't give us the correct amount of money for when we I didn't know ppl still get paid 11 and 12 and $13 an hour that's crazy minimum wage I think is what $15-$20 an hour so where did you get 12 and 11 and 13 from back to the deals at Burlington in Citrus Heights do not shop here do not shop here they don't have any deals for you all year you blow this store up and one time of the year Christmas time they could at least give back and they didn't do not shop at any Burlington's all that cheap shit in there. I will say that when it comes to the larger discount department stores, "Burlington" (formerly called "Burlington Coat Factory") is one of the few places that actually always has what I'm looking for. Their selection for the most part has been impressive and most importantly, the prices are very competitive. Which kind of surprises me considering the majority of Yelp reviews are 2-3 stars. The location I am focusing on is one of only a few Burlington's in the greater Sacramento area and their only one in Citrus Heights, CA. Located directly on Greenback Lane & San Juan Ave., this store has been around since 2009. What I do enjoy about this particular location is that it shares the same parking lot with big box retailer "Kohl's" as well as smaller discount retailer, "Ross". Therefore its a good location to get your dose of retail therapy. The parking lot is rather spacious and open. It can get very dirty at times since I've noticed several vagrants and tweakers around here so I would avoid coming here after dark. However, on the inside, it is very open and spacious. Not to mention, its an impressive two-story building. Several of my Yelp buddies have complained of Burlington not being well-lit, disorganized racks, and a confusing layout. However, I must say that everything for the most part is very easy to locate. Most importantly, it went through a much-needed extensive renovation in 2017, particularly on the upstairs. On the main level, you will find men's and women's clothing, socks, ties, outerwear, shoes, purses, handbags, accessories, electronics, makeup, fragrances, and snacks. The upper level is where you will find boys, girls, and baby clothing, sheets, comforters, curtains, area rugs, candles, lamps, glassware, mugs, pots/pans, utensils, water bottles, and luggage. Conveniently, there is one elevator (for those wishing to take a stroller and/or shopping cart) as well as an escalator. And finally there are men's & women's restrooms located on the upper level. Now based on my experiences shopping here (which has been a couple dozen times since moving to Citrus Heights in April 2016), I've scored some pretty sweet deals. Some things that stood out were as follows: -600 thread count sheets ($29.99) -16 piece small/large drinking glasses ($9.99) -insulated coffee thermos ($8.00) -6-pack boxers ($12.00) -wireless Skullcandy Bluetooth headphones ($29.99) -several gym tees ($6.00 to $10.00) and gym shorts ($8.00 to $12.00) Overall, Burlington has quite an impressive selection of merchandise. Their overall prices are far lower than neighboring Kohl's while their variety is roughly 5 times as much as Ross. Since the store is big and very busy (particularly on the weekends), this place does lack customer service. And the lines can get a bit long just waiting to get rung up. But for the most part, I'm definitely a fan. My rating, four solid stars. read more

This place is depressing! I see the potential in shopping here, but they would need to do the following steps: 1) Straighten the clothes and organize! The sizes are all mixed up. XLs in the Small section, XS in the XL section, etc. 2) Get some better lighting - it is so drab. Makes me look grey in the mirrors! 3) Add some ambiance! Just because it is a discount store doesn't mean it has to look like one. 4) Re-arrange the store. Nothing is highlighed, everything is jumbled. Make it exciting to be here! 5) Get a better sound/music system. The music is a bit...different. Plus when the random statements come on about this promotion or the walk to cure some disease and then they get cut off so you don't even know what the heck they're talking about, it just adds to the confusion. I do believe you can find some deals here, but you really have to spend a long time looking around because nothing is really arranged properly. There is a second floor with housewares, kids clothing, jackets/coats, and baby stuff. Despite the rather large size of this place, I could not find anything to try on or even contemplate buying. The clothes themselves, well, because it isn't really laid out in any predictable and rational manner, you have to hunt through every rack. Who has time for that? I found a very cute Michael Kors sweater for winter, but it was XL. I tried desperately to find a small, but decided that for the amount of time it would take me, it wasn't worth it. Also, folks, how many ruffled blouses can the people of Sacramento wear? I swear there were enough to clothe every man, woman and child in this town. I've been here a few times before and can't seem to shake this feeling of being thrown in to someone's closet! As unorganized and overwhelming as this place is, you can definitely find some pretty awesome things. I've found lots of clothing that you would normally see at Macy's or Nordies. If you're pressed for time, I wouldn't recommend coming here to find something easily, but they do have lots of gems if you have the patience. They have a huge selection of cute underwear/sleepwear as well as super cute accessories. This is also an excellent place to find inexpensive basics like tanks, tees, etc. Prices are amazing. I found a $40 shirt I saw at Nordies here for only $7. Steve Madden shoes that are so cute as well as other shoe brands you normally see at Wet Seal/Love Culture, etc. Perfumes such as Burberry, BVLGARI, Marc Jacobs, Juicy Couture, and others you would normally see at Sephora. Home decor is affordable and there is a large selection of almost anything you can think of. I was a fan of the bedroom sets. Highly recommend this place. They must be getting paid minimum wage, You get what you pay for. Then loss prevention plus 3 other employees were all scoping me out the entire time I was in the aisle looking at hygiene products. I was so pleased at check out. Simone was working at register 6. She was so friendly and pleasant. Her smile lit up the whole front line. She was patient and very professional unlike the person who was a supervisor of sorts yelling at an employee for being behind the register area and off the clock. He was not in fact off the clock but the was she spoke to him was demeaning. I gave her such a look. That was so inappropriate, she could've pulled him to the side. I politely asked an associate (named Beth) to clear the floor of the artwork area because the area was a trip hazard. Artwork were scattered all over and I couldn't even get my cart through. Kids were tripping over the merchandise and damaging them. Beth gave me nasty look and said she was busy. At the time, she was organizing the utensil shelf. But customer safety should be priority over those utensils. I asked her if it would be better if I asked a manager because the area needed immediate attention. She said yes and she started having a fit. She said I was harassing her and that she would call security on me. She went to the artwork area and started throwing the artwork around like she was a child having a tantrum. By the way she was tossing them, I know she damaged a lot of them. I asked around for a manager but nobody seemed to know where he was. I called the store and was able to get a hold of him. The manager listened and apologized for beth's behavior and thanked me for bringing it to his attention. (He was very kind.) I walked out and left my cart full of stuff behind. I am a regular customer here and because of this lady's behavior, I won't be coming back. But I should thank Beth for saving me $150 that day for crap I almost bought and didn't even need!! I did some shopping at the Citrus Heights location and saw a white $15 sweater I liked. It was the only one left and I wanted it, but it had what looked like makeup on the front of it. I rang up all my items (a little less than $200) and I asked about the stain on the sweater. The cashier asked the manager Tabisha or something like Tobisha, she walked up to us and offered a 1.50 off of the sweater and said, "It'll wash off". I was pretty disgusted that I would get $1.50 off when I spent close to $200 at the store. She expected me to wash the brand new sweater and do so with a ridiculous discount. I will never shop at that location again because it's some poor customer service, bad business and straight up insulting. If my girlfriend wasn't with me I would have given everything back and left. We showed up at about 8:45 pm because the hours posted online states open until 10:30. We get in the store and can hear over the speaker that they are closing in 15 minutes and that we have 10 minutes to do our shopping. This was frustrating. Then every few minutes they announce that that are closing and to bring items to the front. Over and over. I felt they were overdoing the announcements but whatever. I also feel that if your in the store before the doors are locked you should be able to do your shopping, period. At one point my wife was told that they were closed, five minutes prior to actual close. She had been looking for 5 minutes! I felt this was unprofessional and rude. Then we get up to the checkout with a few items and the cashier was unpleasant with us. My wife says she is always like that with her and that pissed me off. I used to really like this location. I would come here frequently for shoes, jeans, home décor and other treasures. I don't know what happened, but it seems to be going downhill. The past several times I have been here the organization seems to be a little off. It appears they have done some remodeling, which could be part of the issue, but even the selection has declined. The prices are questionable. I used to be able to come in here and get a pair of shoes, jeans, a few shirts and something for the house with a total bill under $100. The last time I went it, all the prices seemed much higher than usual and the quality of products was lack luster. I ended up buying some jeans only to return them after discovering that the button was broken. The service can be hit or miss. I have had some great interactions with very helpful and friendly staff. I have also had some interactions with folks that seem to be either having a bad day or a bad life. All of that said, I refuse to give up on this place! I have found so many great items here! I just hope that whatever transition is taking place, they get it worked through. read more

As another reviewer mentioned "this place is depressing." The lights, the stuff literally just thrown half way on hangers, and everything everywhere. Finding a size is like going on a scavenger hunt and although those can be fun, not while I'm trying to find something I just fell in love with but it's not my size. I have to say that with a little time and a little patience the findings are pretty fantastic. Their bra and panties section is the most chaotic part of the store. Sizes and matches are hard to find yet they have some pretty spectacular stuff. The stuff ranges from the tackiest, "maid like" sets to the nicest, sexiest, that's the one I'm buying type sets. I found quite a few matching sets and the feeling I got every time made me want to scream, EUREKA!! The prices were awesome too. My mom would always say, "make sure your underwear is always decent because you never know what could happen." I'm sure she probably meant if I was ever in some sort of accident and had to be stripped down to underwear, but seriously if that were the case I really doubt I'd be concerned as to whether or not my underwear looked good. I simply enjoy knowing that the undergarments I'm wearing are fabulous. ;) There's other stuff there but that was the highlight of my shopping. read more

I had a last minute important business meeting and didn't bring my suits with me. I went to Men's Wearhouse in Roseville and they wanted over $300 for the suit that fit me the best, and the pressure from the sales lady almost made my head explode. I passed on them and got a suit jacket, shirt, tie, and pants at Burlington for $102. Everything fit perfect and I wore it out of the store on my way to the meeting. I visited this Burlington this past week, sadly I hesitate to go back, my dad, my sister, and I went in to get a start on Christmas shopping, we were followed around the WHOLE store, by LP and multiple other workers who were not good at being inconspicuous. When we checked out we were asked questions like "Oooh are you buying allll this or is it layaway!?" then the cashier kept telling us our total as we were ringing up, EVEN THOUGH WE DIDN'T ASK. The racial profiling and micro aggressions in this store is at all time high, and they are BLATANT about it. Then the cashier says "oh wow 49 items .. you just met the cut-off we only let you buy 50" statistically speaking the average thief is middle aged white woman, my dad is over 60 and my sister and I are both well over 25, and as I'm sure you've figured out by now BLACK, the assumption that we as black people came into BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY to steal is offensive also the fact that you thought between the 3 of us grown adults and the 3 debit cards on our persons, that we couldn't cover a $600 tab. I have only been here a few times and had no issues until today. I was shopping for jackets and I found one I really liked. While trying it on I noticed that not one but both side pockets were torn and completely unusable. The associate upstairs said they do take discounts off sometimes in these situations. I took the $40 jacket to checkout and was offered a 10% discount ($4) off for a jacket with useless pockets. I think this is completely absurd and asked to speak to a manager. Charles P was extremely rude and told me that it wasn't THAT big of a deal for a jacket to not have pockets. Idk you tell me?
