Unlike The Christmas Tree Shop that I think of as offering cheaper items and being great for getting little things, Big Lots has a great and pretty extensive selection of everything from non-perishable food to household items to furniture. Definitely get a loyalty card with them and then wait for their "20% off everything in the store for members" weekend to get everything you need. They sometimes email out coupons that are an even steeper discount, like $15 off $45, but those are less convenient because you have to buy a certain amount. The coupons come frequently enough that there's no need to shop there inbetween, and the discounts can even be used on big purchases like furniture. The things I typically get here are a mixed bag, but my regular items are generally food-related and include: canned corn, Beanitos (tortilla chips made out of beans), Terra chips (normally super expensive but healthy brand of various kinds of vegetable chips), organic tea bags, and Bob's Red Mill products. Staff are friendly and pleasant to interact with--definitely recommend this location over the Manchester store. This review is four stars because they tend to have only one register open, which means generally a longer than usual wait time to check out. Also they don't accept coupons, which I use frequently.

I even told him I had to unfreeze my credit before making the purchase. If I opened a new Macy's account, I would get an additional discount. Had the chain held. Fast forward-I returned 2 days later and made the purchase. Three days later, decided to have a reputable jewelry store assess the chain since it felt light. It was Hollow! When I brought the chain back, the rep told me immediately the only 14k solid chains were in the men's section; she apologized for the situation. Needless to say, I closed the account which caused a hit to my credit score. There was no misinformation, no communication issue. It was dishonesty at its highest!

The sidewalks are always so clean and even at night, I feel safe here. Parking can at times be a little difficult to come by, but the large angled spots are spacious. There are some great dining options that you don't see everywhere (although Ted's has been lackluster in the past), plus treat options like the famous Munson's, to give you a break to refuel on your shopping spree. This is a great place to catch up with friends or just get some errands done in a more relaxed and glamorous environment than an indoor mall.

Depending when I go, the line to checkout can be pretty long, but they have several cashiers working, so it's a pretty quick process.
