Burlington - Long wait times. An hour or better - Department Stores Near Me - Mesquite, Texas

It's 5:30 on a Saturday in late January and the line is completely backed up past the section for the line and they have 2 cashiers. I haven't been here in a couple of years and I won't be back until the figure out how to not inconvenience their paying customers by making them wait 45 minutes to check out. And security is a bit too much on arrival. read more

I have been a huge fan of this store for since my kids were toddlers. They're in college now. Yesterday's experience was terrible. 1. I shopped and purchased a lot. My bag was overfill and it was more than I could carry. The door greeter suggested I pull my car up while he watches my bags. I did and finally got my bags to my car. I began to leave the parking lot to my next errand for the day but looked over my receipt. I was overcharged for 1 item and charged twice for another. 2. I go back, park, wait in line again, get to same check out counter and explain. She said okay I will remove the extra charge and take off the other you were over charged since it is ringing up that price. I said fine I don't want it at that price. I left to pick up prescriptions and went home to finally get out of the storms and open my bags this morning to put away the much needed winter wear and the item I paid for twice and was trying to a refund for was now removed from my bag so here I am again with being charged for something I still don't have. Do I seriously have to go to Mesquite a 3td time! Criminal! read more

Worst customer service! Worst employees! Just awful ! Lines are always long af , and they once told me i could put my cart on hold while i go pick up my kids from school bc the line was long and i would be late to pick them up , so i left my spot in line to put my cart on hold like they said i could , and then i was told that i couldn't do that and to get back in line or lose my cart. Keep in mind if i went back to the back of the line i would add an extra 30 mins to my wait , luckily the person that was behind me when i was in line let me get back in my spot. I opened a credit card and was told i would have to wait for the actual catd to use it and to us my 10% off. The customer service sucks here. The employees always have an attitude and are rude. I prefer the Burlington on Garland Rd & E Northwest Hwy , much cleaner and awesome customer service, ESPECIALLY Northwest Hwy! read more

There was a makeshift sign on the door saying store hours are 8am-10pm, but that's not what the phone line for the Mesquite location says. Nor is it what Google states your hours are. The service is good if you have questions it can be challenging to find someone other than the cashiers. They have a great selections of clothes. I like the fact that they keep up with the latest trends. I can come in this place and literally spend 100 dollars on about 8 outfits. I really like Burlington's prices and selections however they NEVER have adequate amount of people working the checkout lines in Mesquite. I mean really........ it is Sunday at 11:30am and there is 1 person checking people out and a line with over 20 people ahead of me! Ugh read more

OMG the amount of people that pile into this store is HORRENDOUS. The first time I came here I was like ok maybe I just came at a busy time or during a sale, whatever. Then I came two more times after that and it was the exact same thing. One of the times was even before noon. The check out line be mad longgggggg. I dislike the fact that when im on an aisle and im looking at items random rude customers always seem to come from the opposite end to where I am and stand near me, and in my way as if they don't see me there shopping. The s*** is awkward and annoying. The prices they have online are not honored in the store even tho it is the exact same item. That is terrible. I did get the beautiful tuffted chest for the foot rest of my bed because it matched the decore perfectly. I was highly disappointed that they would not honor the priced it was set for on their website. What a shame. I agree with previous comments concerning not having enough personnel at check-out counters. I stopped going to Burlington's for that reason, HOWEVER, I stopped by the Mesquite store last month and was pleasantly surprised to see a remodeled store with lots of cashier lines and each was attended by an employee. I got out of line in about 7 minutes...would have been sooner if I didn't have so many bargains in my buggy. :) read more

If I could do zero stars I would!! I really wish corporate would take time to check out this awful location! Other locations are so much faster and more organized. Longest lines ever with the slowest working employees. Constantly see employees standing around instead of helping the check out line. I hate this place but it's the only one close to me so I try to suck it up but nope, after today I'll drive the 25 minutes to the Plano one. read more

I was having a great shopping experience until my sister came and told me about a particular employee that was very impolite towards her and my niece. They were in the toy area in the middle of the sales floor looking through all the baby clothes they had picked out . While in the middle of the sorting and Employee named Kelly forced her way in between them and very blatantly forced her way through the middle of them. She proceeded to tell the " Can you do that at the register because I moving things around" while simultaneously waving her hand in front of their faces in a very rude way , not to mention invading their personal space without even so much as a "excuse me" or "please". So disrespectful . She was setting up a toy display which is understandable but it's not always so much you say but how you say it. My sister obviously upset tried to comment about how had she had just said it in a kinder way she would not be upset. Kelly then very defensively said "I'm not being rude " . My sister then left to prevent the incident from escalating. We shop here all the time and we honestly will not be coming here again. When I asked to speak to her manager she just responded " She's back there" . Excuse me ???? So I had to call the store and ask to speak to manager Kathy over the phone . I told her the situation and said she would speak to her about it. I will be calling back for a follow up and contacting corporate and their district manager. Over all the only reason I did not give this a one star is because of Bridgette and Kathy were very polite and was heard immediately. read more

Burlington is my go to store for purchasing name brand items at a low cost. I always find great deals. However, the service is not the best. I feel only 2 cash resisters are open and that store is always packed. Most of my time is spent in the cashier line as opposed to shopping. The cashiers are slow and take their time checking out customers. Do not go to Burlington if you're in a time crunch. I would suggest going early when they open to shop and checkout in a timely manner. read more

I have always been a fan of Burlington coat factory but this one was in horrible shape and understaffed. The toys were piled on the floor and on tables with so many toys with stolen parts out of them. There were 2 checkers on a busy day and it took half an hour to check out with 3 toddlers! I usually love Burlington. This time my husband and I went together, and the store was just a horrid mess. We each had to go to the restroom, I don't know about the men's room, but the ladies restroom was just terrible. The main part of the store had clothes all over the floor, and the toy department was totally unorganized. The checkout lanes were difficult to distinguish between open and closed lanes, and people were everywhere. read more

Clothes every where. Nothing is organized. The staff here seems not to want to help anyone. You ask them a question and they seem not interested into wanting to help you. First and last time going to this Burlington store. I had a horrible experience with the lady on the dressing room. She was reminding me everytime to hurry up. I was inside room already before the announce that they where gonna close soon the dressing room so to please go if they had any iteams they needed to try out. I was inside already and this lady must of had a bad day cause she was speeding me up and already telling people that they couldn't try clothes on we had an argument cause of how rude she was and I went to speak straight to her manager who was great and understanding. But yet I don't know what happen after with this lady. Wish Burlington management would take a look at this store and change everything and look carefully who they hire, how it's manage and taken care of. Also I been to better Burlington and it seems that they have better clothes on does Burlington than this store. read more
