Golf ball sized bump on tire
    Caitlin B.

I have been to this dealership 3 times in the past few months due to a number of different problems simply brought on by my cars age. Every transaction has been smooth and worth the money. I got a bump on my tire, and they had plenty of mine in stock and were able to change it within 24 hours, giving me a loaner car at no extra charge. What really brought me to make this review was how sweet one of the service administrator's is, her name is Ashley Lackard. I was struggling to find my up to date documents due to quite the headache and she went out of her way to look up my registration and print it out for me to have for the future. She was entirely understanding of my space cadet moments and just overall a lovely experience. 12/10 customer service skills and service.

After not hearing for 2 weeks I called and was told that it was backordered and they'd call me when it arrived. After another month I called to check in, spoke to a different service advisor, and was told that he can't even find my order in the system and that my TPMS sensor showed up as in stock in the local warehouse and could be there the next business day. When I asked if the last guy simply forgot to order it I got no response. Yesterday I showed up for my appointment to have my oil changed, brakes replaced, and winter tires swapped for my summers. I scheduled the appointment over the phone over 1 week in advance and specifically asked them to order 4 pads and rotors so that they would be there when I showed up. Showed up for my appointment and was told that never happened. Had them just swap the tires instead. Get in the car to drive away and see that the tech forgot to re-train the TPMS sensors... Will be going to a different dealer from now on. Last comment is that even if you book an appointment for a specific time and tell them that you're waiting, they hardly ever pull your vehicle in the garage in the first hour. Waited over 3 hours to simply mount/balance 4 tires. (Usually 1-1.5 hours of labor)

DONT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP: My car buying experience…read moreshould have been straight forward and easy for any of the sales staff. I was pre-approved by my lender; I had researched the make and model of the car I wanted and was ready to purchase. Freedom Nissan in South Burlington, VT had a Mazda that I was interested in buying. This is my experience with this business. Treating me horribly was completely unnecessary. All they do is lie! 1. We sat down with Seth Quittner, who immediately wanted to know about our trade in. I told him that we were interested in test driving the Mazda. He went with us. We noticed the "Blind Spot Prominently Sensor" warning light was on. Seth stated that "it was common with heavy rain or snow" - he got calls about it all the time, no big deal". It was raining quite hard, so we didn't think much of it. That was a LIE! 2. Once I decided to buy the car, there was no negotiating the price. Seth makes it sound like he will take your offer and go back to the owner and ask if they can do it. It's a con game. I watched him do it with other customers. Instead, Kyle Nichols, the manager came out and I got shown a sheet of paper, which has a list of all the Mazda's in the area and they didn't even let me hold it to read it. I was told they have the best pricing. I had already vetted the car with my lender and the price was decent, but this tactic is what they do with everyone. 3. In order to complete the paperwork process, you get taken upstairs. Shain Quartz was being trained on the process by Kyle Nichols. Shain called me a day after I had signed my documents to tell me that he made an error and that I needed to drive back to their office and resign them. I asked him to email me the documents to show what changes he had made. Not only did he not email me, he sent my documents that he made changes to, without me knowing what they were on to my lender. That is illegal. When I spoke with Kyle Nichols about it, his response to me was "Shain is a nice person, he is being trained, how can you hurt his feelings? THAT IS WHAT THEY ALL DO; THEY DEFLECT FROM THE REAL ISSUE AND NEVER GIVE YOU A STRAIGHT ANSWER. 4. On the day I purchased the car, as I was leaving, I noticed the fob was broken. When I asked Seth if they could fix it, he told me they are "NOT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP", THEY ARE A SMALL BUSINESS and that fixing the fob would cost $75.00. I just purchased a car that was over $20,000.00 and they turned fixing the fob into a MAJOR ordeal. I went to Kyle Nichols, who is the manager. He agreed to replace the fob but I had to drive to the Mazda dealership in Montpelier to get it fixed. He paid them directly and I picked up the fob thinking that was the last interaction I would have with this business. I WAS WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! And I found out why I needed to go to the Montpelier location - Freedom Nissan is shady. 5. I made an appointment with the Burlington Mazda dealership to have the sensor looked at. Apparently, Freedom Nissan KNEW THE SENSOR WAS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED before they put it on the lot for sale. THEY KNOWINGLY SOLD ME A CAR WITH A SAFTEY ISSUE. They got an estimate, chose to put the part in themselves and never had it calibrated. The cause of the sensor not working was due to an accident, which was not disclosed on the car fax sheet. Seth told me it was due to rain! Mazda sold Kyle the part but could not confirm if they had installed it. This situation required me to text Kyle and ask him. Another tactic they use, is only wanting to talk to you on the phone, so nothing is in writing. The lies in our text conversation are mind blowing. Kyle: Freedom Nissan did not do the work on the car; we paid Mazda to repair it. LIE - We don't repair electronics on non-Nissans. We always do the right thing and pay the manufacturer. Another LIE! - I'm working on getting a copy from Mazda I'll report back. If we could chat on the phone real quick - I got a lot of info Me: It was looked at, not fixed at the Mazda dealership. Email it to me please, I was told by Mazda, Freedom Nissan did not complete having it fixed there. They need to know if you put in a new module somewhere else. And if you say you did, why wasn't it calibrated? Kyle: What does Mazda say needs to happen? I misread the internal notes looks like Mazda gave us the module to fix. Me: Are you saying Mazda gave you the part? Kyle: It appears we brought it to Mazda, they sold us a module, then our technician repaired it. Are they requesting for a calibration of this module? This review platform doesnt give me enough space to tell you the rest of the story... they refused to pay for the repair unless I signed a non disclosure / settlement document - I was yelled at - I was told by Mort Shipario that I needed to "Step Back about calling them liars". - which was a threat. I have never been subjected to such unprofessional, unethical, cons like this before - totally discusting.

This last time Pete Flag had my car for almost a month, and it seems to me he did more to sabotage it than fix anything, and it cost me just shy of $600. This included an oil change, which he charged me $80 for, yet when I got there to pick up the car it was over filled by at least 3/4 of a quart and the oil was not new oil. It was already used oil! I had told Pete that I was going to be looking to sell the car when I had been making the appointment for it. From that point forward he did everything he could to get it from me for next to nothing, knowing full well how money and parts I'd put into it over my almost 9 years of owning this car now. He fouled my spark plugs from running the car in the yard for hours and hours, so that when I went to pick it up it was again, not starting, like the original problem that it had been brought there for. I had to go and buy my own spark plugs and install them in his lot because this was the 3rd day in a row after I had paid of not being to drive the car away. Pete Flag is a hack mechanic, looking back I now realize that he never did the kind of job a real mechanic would do and button things down nicely. He is a used car salesman masquerading as a mechanic. He tried to get my car by calling me claiming, "Someone stopped in and asked about your car here today, want me to just send it for $2,000?" He never intended to fix it, he intended to keep it there and create more problems with the car, then have me abandon it so he could turn around and sell it for a profit. I truly believe he scored my brake rotors, since I got it back from him there has been something up with the brakes. There are other aspects of his work that are also very fishy, like the hose on top of the engine he "deleted" and left a gaping hole on the top of the engine. And he left my car with the spark plugs out the day I went to change them myself, out in the lot, allowing any dirt to fly in that wanted to. He ripped me off and he is a scheister, I recommend staying away from this spider and his web down on Shelburne Rd.

Buying the truck was awesome, great communication, and a super quick and easy process. Warranty was purchased with the vehicle and paid full price (over $22,000). In the first month I owned the truck, typical used vehicle stuff happened, they sorted it out for me no worries right? 3 weeks after I bought the truck the transmission completely failed after having just put just over a thousand miles on it. Slipped out of gear in third, then completely lost power and knocked and went into limp mode. It's a known issue on these trucks that CDF drums fail. I bought the truck to my local transmission shop and they confirmed exactly what I thought it was. Remember how I bought warranty? Ha well it only covers a maximum of $5500 of parts and Labor and the transmission repair/replacement was $7500. So here I am $2000 out of pocket. There I was thinking maybe they'll cover the repair or at least help me out, pffft not a chance, gave me a whole spiel and every excuse under the sun saying that these "shops", are not trustworthy and they're charging me too much and so fourth. Marin told me he had just sent a 10 speed to get rebuilt, and that he might be able to help. He also said "oh I'll also see if my mechanic wants to do it", no offense mate but that alone is just bullshit. If a customer buys a vehicle from your business, you should make time for your customers or at least make an effort. I ended up replacing the transmission at my expense with no help from these con artists. No communication has been made with me, let alone they ghost my phone calls, and want nothing to do with me or the truck. Do not buy anything from here they are selling used garbage that isn't worth the money, don't be fooled by the price. If you do, bring someone who knows cars or the car inside and out because they're a bunch of liar's (not the mechanic who fixed the wiper arms he seems like the only one with some integrity). Stay away from here get a certified vehicle it's worth it!
