I've been hearing many suggestions to visit here because there are some hidden gems for shoes so I finally stopped! One thing I will say is that this store is bright, clean, and well-organized! I could see clear across the store and there weren't things on the floor. I even saw some bath & body works products inside. There were many shoes and even a clearance rack that was full, but unfortunately they're weren't too many shoes for sizes 9+. 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars for cleanliness and the plentiful options. Even though I didn't walk out with anything, there were many people walking out with carts full.

    Pastaliscious.

this can be a great place for clothes and shoes in particular if you can exhibit extreme patience. Oh yes, it takes a while to find the gems, but when you do find them it is wonderful. And you will likely end up with something that not all of your friends, peers, coworkers already have in their closets. The clearance shoe section at two locations was unbelievable disorganized...not just slightly disheveled. Size 6 shoes in the size 8 section. Shoes in the wrong boxes. You have to scan every on every row, shoe in every aisle because your size could be anywhere.

*** Huge store *** **More than just coats** I must say the name of this store was misleading to me. I had not shopped here in well over a decade, and I was under the impression they mostly sold just coats. Came inside today with my spouse, and this place is HUGE. I can't see the back wall... the aisle seems to go on forever like the twilight zone . . . . . I ran, and I ran... I just could not get to the back of the store. Eventually I got tired, so I stopped to rest, and look around the Men's Apparel section for a bit. Also, I was surprised to see they sell alot more than coats here. Reminds me of a TJ Maxx or Marshalls in the format of the store. All kinds of clothes, not just jackets and coats. Oh, and LOW prices as well. The store was clean, and the staff was enthusiastic and friendly on this day. I give 'em a solid 3.5 stars.

Entrance way needs daily trash removal. Gross!

The employees don't know how to speak apparently. So rude. I rather spend my money at Tj Maxx or Ross

They have so much bring a combo store of TJ Maxx and Home Goods. Staff has been friendly when approached, but they have never been proactive which is why a star deduction. Checkouts can be long, but I get it as they are extremely popular. Hold onto your receipts or returns can be a problem. I will continue to shop them and appreciate the combination store.

I enjoy checking out their jewelry counter and their very nice selection of purses and wallets. I also usually purchase something from the pet area for my sweet pup. I absolutely love the home goods area. There is a lot to choose from and the prices are affordable. Many of the staff have worked here quite a while which is nice. They work hard and do a good job. However my favorite part of this location is Fran. She is a lady who works hard, especially for her age and some challenges she has had. She is usually working the dressing rooms. She always does a great job checking the clothes. She also remembers me and one of my friends that often goes with me. She treats us like we are so special. It is nice to be recognized by an employee in a business you frequent.

Shopping in Virginia Beach, Virginia…read more.. I've known my friend since First Grade and I trust her totally. When she makes a suggestion, I listen and follow. She said that we should take a look at Ollie's. It's a discount shopping experience. There are all kinds of overstocked merchandise such as books, clothing, personal care items, pet supplies, gardening tools, snacks, beverages, greeting cards, children's toys, kitchen appliances, towels, linens, home decor items, etc. I found silicone gloves for cooking/baking, a shower caddy for my God daughter's bathroom, and gardening gloves for the beach clean up this weekend! Great deals! At checkout, the efficient cashier asked if I wanted to join the Loyalty Program - Ollie's Army. Sure! I'm looking forward to returning and getting more bargains in the future!

Okay first off, the countless images of "Ollie" hanging everywhere creep me out…read more Now that that's out of the way, allow me to begin my review. The claims of "cheap" stuff are only that.. claims. Just the condition of the store was questionable, as it seemed most stuff was just scattered around, aimlessly. There wasn't much I found to get, which was somewhat disappointing. It felt like a cross between Kmart, Rose's, Big Lots, Dollar General and your typical dingy little outlet store you see in 90s movies. The only thing I ended up with was a light blue bath towel. It's not bad, but I will admit that it's the only bath towel I own that had mystery stains on it after the first use. It's like it bleached itself. I didn't do anything different with it and it still rebelled for some reason. I'm not blaming Ollie's specifically, but it's still something to be aware of if you're in the market for one. Service wasn't bad during my visit. I would check other locations before I'd make a definite conclusion on the chain. However, in regards to this one?.. It's a "meh" at best.

Sometimes there is confusion with other Hilltop stores at the intersection so keep in mind there is signage. The Shops at Hilltop are located on the Southeast corner off the intersection of Laskin and First Colonial. All the shops are collectively known as The Shoppes of Hilltop. However, the break it down by East and West. Customers have one access point off First Colonial and three off Laskin. If there is a drawback it's the bottleneck on the First Colonial side during rush. I have never had an issue with parking. The lot can be a bit hit or miss on debris. They do have a few security guards that patrol. I have never felt unsafe. The stores I frequent the most are Fruitive, Fresh Market, Bottlecraft, Bakers Crust, Cobalt Grille, Tino and Nectar. A few more in between as there are a lot of stores. My family enjoy the Shoppes at Hilltop and I would recommend working them in your rotation. Many are local businesses which is more reason.
