We came to Pittsburgh while they were hosting the D2 March Madness in 2026, and thanks to my nephew's team bringing us out here, we were able to uncover this gem of a cigar lounge. I've been to quite a few cigar lounges--and even worked at one--so I have a good sense of what makes a place stand out. Burn by Rocky Patel did just that on every level. The ambiance, décor, cigar selection, and service were all top-tier. It's a classy lounge with a twist of sports bar energy, which made it both elevated and fun. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the next day, and they had live entertainment--a violinist playing along to hip hop and R&B--which created such a unique vibe. Kayla, the bartender, let us know about the live entertainment the day before, it wasn't posted on their social media or website. She was attentive, sweet, and made excellent drinks. Evan, who was working the cigar side, was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and communicated well with customers even during a heavy flow. One thing that really stood out was the crowd--mixed ages, mature, and plenty of ladies confidently partaking in the beautiful art of cigars, which I loved seeing. Even if you don't smoke cigars, the vibes in this place are worth the visit. If and when I return to Pittsburgh, this place is a must. It's also within walking distance to the stadiums, which is a huge plus. Feedback for management: The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the disconnect between locations and social media postings. There was an event listed on the website that wasn't actually happening at this location, while an amazing event that was happening wasn't shared online; which would have been a shame to miss. It may be worth considering in-house social media and website management to ensure updates are accurate and timely to the specific location. read more

I was excited to find a cigar bar downtown where I could hang out with a few friends after dinner. It's a great way to thin the crowd a bit. This place seemed inviting, however, the service was non-existent. It was actually kind of busy and the bar was full (not packed). Many of the sections were roped off so there was juts one table open near the front of the store. We sat there with no table service at all. They could have made some money from us but nope. Other than the guy at the front door who was just "find a seat" and not helpful at all, and the guy in the cigar shop, who was one of the few helpful people in assisting with the cigar purchase and cutting of the cigar. He offered to light it, but that's half the fun, so I declined. Apparently, the bartenders have lighters too but I couldn't find a place to sneak in and get the cigar lit and also buy a drink. Luckily, someone in my party had a lighter so I just used that and hung out. A drink would have been nice, but not necessary. After this place, we went to a few more bars in the area where they actually served their customers. What a novel idea, right? read more

We aren't cigar smokers, or smokers at all, so went just for the experience as newbies and the staff were super supportive in teaching us. I really loved the chill vibe on a Sunday afternoon, old r&b jams and overall friendliness of everyone. Good drinks and nachos too! We stopped after brunch to hang out and it appeared to be the perfect time as it was nearly empty when we first came in then filled in after. My main negative is the smell gets stuck in my hair so that will be a deterrent for me coming back unfortunately, but I will at some point for the atmosphere. read more

We happened upon this place by recommendation from someone we met on the street while strolling the strip lol. We had come from the city winery and because it was still early were looking for a place to hear some music and dance! The dj was rocking, the bartenders were on point and we had a time! I can't say enough about the care and professionalism of the team running events and catering at Burn. From start to finish, organizing a private event felt easy and seamless. Great place great atmosphere, from the time you walk in and are greeted by the concierge who answered all of my questions and found a spot for us to sit even though they were jam packed. I was then introduced to Justin who is the manager there, he was very welcoming and accommodating also. Lastly i went into the humidor where a gentlemen named Ray helped me find the perfect cigar, we even chatted about Japan which came up in conversation and surprisingly we had both been too. I can't say enough bad things about this place. Recently went in after a Steelers game. Place wasn't crowded at all. Sat at the bar. Service was without question the worst service I ever had in my life. Like worse than non existent. To make matters worse, all 4 bartenders left on their lunch break at the same time leaving our group with no bartenders. So then a pretty muscular black fellow was in charge of waiting on the entire place. He was the world's most miserable human. Acted like we were bothering him to order another beer. The humidor is nice and everyone in there is friendly. But man is the staff in the bar terrible. If I were the owner I'd fire every one of them. The place will never make any money if the wait staff wants to stand around and gossip all day and then when they do work...they're annoyed that you're bothering them. I met some girlfriends at Burn for a girls night. All of the seating inside (besides the bar) is reservation (and up charge) only. However the patio is first come, first served. It was a beautiful night out so we decided to sit outside. The bartender outside was really attentive and friendly. The space itself is beautiful and very spacious. Even though it's a cigar bar, it doesn't smell overwhelmingly like smoke which is a plus. I think Burn is a chill spot to enjoy some drinks and/or a cigar and listen to some live music. It's right in the north shore so you're right in the middle of all of the action which is also nice! read more

Welp! Another great night for the books for this Illy Philly! Burn by Rocky Patel is an experience and one tou should try at least once! I have to say that I had a phenomonal time. I'm not a smoker of any kind, but I tried a cigar and felt kinds cool and pretty fly smoking my cigar and having a drink. This is not a restaurant, but they do serve bar foods. Their Cigar list is pretty nice so I went with a little Vanilla Cigar with Espresso undertones and, well....I'm still not a smoker, but the experience was really superb. He explained the cigars in great details, helped us understand the process of choosing a cigar, and really treated us beautifully. The music was spun by a DJ and he really killed. The vibe was nice all night and I got to experience great service, great drinks, great conversation and even some dancing. All in all I am definitely coming back for more. As I approached the register to be checked out, one ask a question. The attended turned to them, explained several cigar options, chatted, recommend other cigars, moved to another area, selected 6 sticks, got a box to carry them, checked them out, and cut and lit 3 cigars. The fourth guy left before his cigar was lit. After an exhausting wait I handed him my cigar to check out. The fourth guy retuned. He set my cigar down, stopped my transaction to light his cigar. Okay so first, you have to pay a cover to get in, like it's a club or something. Which is kinda ridiculous because you literally are already paying for drinks, cigars, food, etc.. what's the point of a cover???? I understand checking IDs at the door, but the only difference between here and a bar/restaurant is the cigars... Once you get in, there's nowhere for you and your group to even sit because all of the tables and chairs are reserved, except for the bar seating. Which is always full. We loved this place! I have been struggling to find a good cocktail place in Pittsburgh and this place was perfect! We didn't try any food because we had ate else where. This is a nice, higher end cigar bar. There were 4 of us that went to a Pirates game and by the 8th inning, it was raining so we walked here from the stadium They have indoor seating and some covered outdoor seating with heat lamps in cool weather. There was a jazz band playing inside. It was so loud so we went outside. We got cigars from the humidor which had a good selection and a good range of prices. Cool look for sure...I'm sorry...ventilation system is TERRIBLE and food was underwhelming...I just can't justify the prices there. I was so unimpressed and wanted my bill ASAP because the place filled with smoke so bad it was all I could taste. Yes it's a cigar bar but, I didn't plan on it being so bad it took my breath away, made my eyes water, smoke was all i could taste while eating, and I smelt like cigars in my hair even after I showered and washed it. What an enjoyable afternoon. We couldn't take the football game, so I suggested we go out and smoke a cigar. Our first time at Burn, and we were delighted with the ambiance. All of the leather chairs and sofas were very comfortable, and multiple TVs were situated around if you wanted a peek at the game. Now, I'm no expert on cigars, but we received recommendations in the humidor room. First you describe the type of cigar you like to smoke. The gentleman suggested a Rocky Patel white label. This was exactly what my husband asked for, delicious and smooth, with a Connecticut wrapper. My husband and he selected an acid vanilla for me. Good taste, but a little hard to draw. Magnificent bar, anything you are interested in. We ordered two old fashions. Hand made simple syrup and those "expensive" cherries, Luxardo, ground to perfection. Well, they were extremely good, but I got clumsy, and knocked over a practically full glass. Frank was quick to clean up, and replaced my drink, at no charge. He was full of conversation, and let us know that Burn also has music each Friday and Saturday, which I personally will be looking forward to. Bartender was asked the price of the Macallan 18 and she stated $73. We ordered that and a $25 1920 OF bourbon. Knowing that a "cube" will sometimes cost more than standard ice, I asked and she replied it would be an upcharge for a cube so I requested normal ice. We requested our tab after enjoying our drinks and found a 33% increase to the Macallan 18 (was $73 now $97) because it was poured neat w/o a mixer. WHO TF ADDS A MIXER TO AN 18yr OLD SCOTCH?! I requested a conversation with the manager who explained to me in order to get the $73 pour it needed to be with a mixer - I asked what the most common mixer 18yr old scotch drinkers have with that pour. He said they don't and tend to pay the upcharge. So I'm held hostage to paying more because I don't want to F up my scotch?! I've been to places where they charge $10 or 5% for a neat pour that adds 1/2 an ounce to the standard 1.5oz pour, but never 33%! Nowhere on the menu does it indicate how much they will charge for ice, cube, or even for the neat pour - so it gets to be a surprise at the end. Not having seen the menu when ordering you'd think the bartender would've mentioned this before pouring our drinks.... With the manager basically dismissing us and offering zero concern, I can assure you we will never be back! read more
