My friends and I have been looking for a new happy hour spot to try and get away from our usual packed college bar crowd and decided to try Kingfly. I love bourbon so had a few Kentucky mules. The first one I had was a little too sweet for my liking but I mentioned it to the bartender and he made my next one exactly how I asked with less simple syrup which was very appreciated. I think what made it 5 stars for me was the setting inside. I absolute love the rustic wood look inside and all the furniture/decor makes it feel like home.

In town for Barrel and Flow and stopped by for quick drinks. Greg was our bartender and he did a great job! I had a vodka Collins (happy hour special) and a bourbon smash... my favorite. My husband had an old fashioned. Drinks were beautifully prepared and tasty. We always stop here when we're in town and will continue to do so. Great atmosphere with plenty of seating and free parking on the street.

Went to Kingfly for the first time this past Sunday. We went at opening time and there was a line for drinks at the bar. I ordered a glass of Mazza and then was told there would be a $10 cover soon for the band. Honestly, I was confused why they didn't just collect the cover charge when you walk in the door. I sat and drank my Mazza then left without anyone asking me to pay the cover. Granted I did leave before the music started however, I feel like there should be a better system. The mazza was super sweet so I probably wouldn't order that again. The vibe was really cool. I would love to go back and check out the upstairs sometime (it was closed when we were there).

Update - Great space and atmosphere but inconsistent latte technique. I went during last Saturday afternoon and ordered an almond milk latte. I don't know if it was the step of making it or the timing that was messed up, but the milk foam was so thin and it did not even taste like a latte. The first pic was taken 30 seconds after the latte was handed to me, the foam was almost gone already. The second was after 2 sips....it was more like a coffee misto than a latte. Overall, not a fan of their espresso drink. (They use Commonplace beans, which is kind of a wast with their poor latte technique)

I hosted my monthly book club this past Sunday afternoon and it was such a fun afternoon! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We were able to order individually and then we had our own table on the second floor. Which was great because we pretty much had the space to ourselves but then we could enjoy the live music which was awesome!! I enjoyed a cocktail and a snack, and both were very yummy. Distillery that's a bit further away from the main strip district area but worth the walk if you're in the mood for a good cocktail. They currently have some cocktail slushies on the menu for summertime. We got the painkiller - it's really good! Great for a warm day. They have a promo that they posted on IG but it's slightly misleading. It makes it seem like the first round ($12) will get you the cup in addition to your first round and you can get $5 refills thereafter. On the check though, there's a charge for the cup and each charge is also inflated ($5.20 for a refill, and $12 + some change for the first drink - I forget the cents, maybe $12.48). Not sure why they don't just keep the charges flat to match what they posted online. Good drink though! read more

Wow what a beautiful space! I love popping in here whenever I visit Pittsburgh because not only is the space beautiful but the drinks are delicious. I've done spirit flights, cocktail flights and cocktails, they always have something I enjoy. I also like the variety on the menu because they usually have something for everyone im with. I'm a Kingfly stan. This place is chill, stylish, cozy, and the cocktails are the best in the city. That sounds like an exaggeration, but it's actually not. Head there and definitely ask for Greg, because this dude makes the best old fashioneds you'll find. Pro tip, sub rye whiskey; you won't regret it. Also, they host events, and I can't imagine a better venue. Goooooo! read more

Have been meaning to try this place for a long time. Finally went a couple of weeks ago. Love the old building but was unsure of the craft distilling. So many places just don't do it well. However, Kingfly does not disappoint. Was happily surprised at the quality throughout every part of the place. Really enjoyed the drinks and thought the prices were great considering the quality. This is not a speed bar the bartender puts a lot of time and effort into each drink. Go on a Thursday and you may be lucky enough to have Josh as your bartender. read more

First and foremost I have to say- the atmosphere here is immaculate. The staff was amazing and not only gave us an incredible drink suggestion which changed my fiancée's whole view on tequila cocktails for the better (the de manzana was incredible), but they also were so personable and kind that we ended up staying long past the one drink we planned to come by for. We had never been in before but plan to come back soon! They also constantly have super cool and unique events going on. read more

My girlfriends and I visited Kingfly this past Saturday sometime within the 10-11pm hour before close. They ordered gin based cocktails that they enjoyed very much, having two each. I got the seasonal frozen limoncello and immediately noticed the impressive presentation. It was refreshing and the perfect frozen consistency. While I love the cozy ambiance and architecture of the space, in the summertime, it would be nice to maximize their outdoor seating along Smallman. read more

Stopped in with some out of town family for a cool afternoon drink. Loved it. Cocktails were nicely done. Place was busy but not too crowded. Music was cool and set the vibe without being too loud. Decor was super cool and nicely integrated distilling equipment. Bartenders were super friendly. Didn't make drinks that quickly but they made up for it with their willingness to customize drinks. 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here. Seriously. Skip to the end to see my rating scale. So first off, I'm not a spirits guy. I'm a beer guy. Although I do love a nice mojito. Unfortunately they were unable to make one for me the day we went. I get the impression though that they can and do, but the bartender wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed on our visit. So they couldn't make what I wanted and the server was subpar, so why the 5 stars? I'm really going off potential in this review, as in, I really think this is a 5 star place. It has the industrial ambiance that I appreciate and the details of their decor are first class IMO. It was clean and inviting and the young lady who I believe to be the manager on duty that day was welcoming, friendly, and classy in her own right. I couldn't score a mojito but they do have a beer selection from some of the better craft breweries in the neighborhood so I was happy with stout I was able to order. They also have live music which is another big plus and the two levels of seating are connected by floor openings so you can enjoy the show on whichever floor you find yourself. Always a big selling point for me is outdoor seating which is available with several picnic and bistro tables on the sidewalk. Top it off with them being dog friendly and they really do hit the mark on the things I most want to see in a relaxation station. So despite the bartender who left his personality under the bed when he left for work, I'll still give Kingfly five stars. 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here read more

We came in after a Saturday in the Strip and were pleasantly surprised to find no crowd. There is a nice assortment of both tables, bar seats, and couches. We opted for the couches. The drinks were well thought out and the bartender was so friendly. read more

I came here for a private event. The location is easy to find in the Strip District area- street parking is unreliable, but there is a parking lot behind the building called the Hub. $5 for parking 0-2 hours. A great decor inside with historical items , couches and even a space for live music to be played. read more

Not a huge selection of their own liquors - in their whiskey flight both of their guest whiskeys from other PA distilleries were better than the ones they made. Their rye was super hot, with lots of burn. Their bourbon was kind of bland in comparison. Not my favorite. Service was good, no problems there. Probably wouldn't go back with Wigle only a couple blocks away. read more

One of the gems in the city of Pittsburgh... Kingfly makes solid spirits and always has a fresh lineup of cocktails available. I love coming here because they tend to always have the best local Jazz and singer song writers. The interior is warm and cozy and the perfect place to relax and listen to music with a great cocktail in your hand. read more

The cocktail and tasting bar at our distillery features all PA-produced product, so we are dedicated to supporting regional makers of local spirits, beer and wine. We proudly preserved a 1900s carriage house in the heart of the Strip District to welcome guests to a historic, warm, inviting space for enjoying a drink with friend, or hosting a special event in our unique and spacious venue. Our barista was very nice, but an awkward moment occurred when they were ringing us up - barista asked for a tip but then told us not to put the tip on the credit card because the owner steals from them. We felt this was a little uncomfortable and gave some unwelcoming energy. We also tried a Nutella croissant, which was very good! I think this shop has a lot of potential with some changes to service and decor.

While I…read morethink Espresso a Mano has the better espresso drinks,* Constellation has fantastic pour over: You won't find a better selection of high-end coffee beans anywhere else in Pittsburgh, and no other cafe in the city comes close. The bean offerings are always excellent, varied, and carefully curated. Selecting among them may feel intimidating, but the baristas are very knowledgeable and helpful. If you don't have much or any experience with pour over coffee, you should make sure to ask them for suggestions, and they will guide you towards a good selection. If you are coffee snob with a rotating selection of extra-light beans on your kitchen counter... well you should still chat with the baristas and they can tell you all about what they offer, what tasting notes to expect, what they are excited about, and so on. I am in the latter category, and I always enjoy chatting with the baristas here and learning about their coffee. I also appreciate that, in the summer, you can choose to have a Japanese-style iced pour over (the one that's brewed hot directly onto ice). You don't find that often in cafes, and certainly nowhere else in Pittsburgh. Besides coffee, the ambiance is great. There is not much traffic, so it's a pretty calm place to sit down and work or read a book. I love sitting at the large table in the back room for a few hours and working from there, while enjoying a cup or two of different pour overs. Overall, we are lucky to have Constellation . While Pittsburgh can't compare with the "third-wave" coffee scene in cities like Seattle or Vancouver, Constellation can certainly compete with the best cafes in such cities. *The espresso here is also great, don't get me wrong, especially when they offer a light roast. But I just like the one at Espresso a Mano better. I do wish Constellation offered an espresso flight; given the variety of beans they offer, that would be a unique coffee-drinking experience.

The reason is simple: It's the best espresso in Pittsburgh. Both the plain espresso and the milky drinks (at least the macchiato and cortado, I don't generally enjoy cappuccino or latte) are executed perfectly and taste great. I like the espresso so much, the beans I use for my own espresso at home are always from here. I also enjoy the ambiance at this cafe. In the summer, I love to sit at the long bench by the entrance and watch the traffic outside while enjoying the sun. And in the winter, the interior feels very cozy and is a great place to hang out and chat with a friend. They also display art from (I believe) local artists, and you can buy pieces you like. I have not tried any of the baked goods or non-espresso drinks, so I can't comment on those first hand--though my partner did try the hot chocolate and was raving about it. But when it comes to espresso, come here for a good cup; as I said, it's the best espresso in Pittsburgh.

I did see one outlet on the wall at the far corner. There is like 3 chairs that face the window.

A friend asked me if I would like to go out to get some berries. We got there after berry picking time for the day, which closed around 2 PM, but there was still plenty of time to buy berries in their market, freshly picked by their workers, and enjoy other fun things at the farm! We fed the goats, who were the sweetest, tamest goats I have ever met. (Frankly, they completely changed my opinion about goats, with which I have had some unpleasant memories in the past.) You can pay a quarter for some food and feed it to them by hand, and not a single one took it from me anything less than gently. There is also a super cute feature where you can send some food up to goats standing at the top of the pen via a pulley system. There were several baby goats here when we visited and they were ridiculously adorable. From there it was a stop at the café window where we ordered strawberry lemonade slushies that were an absolute delight. It was late in the day and they were out of several of the food offerings; I was told by my friend that the hot pretzel is fantastic, but didn't get to find out. So I went with some freshly made donuts, and it was only a few dollars for half a dozen blueberry donuts. They are wonderful eaten fresh just like this, but when you take them home you can heat them up for 10 seconds to get that just-out-of-the-oven taste. Finally we stopped in the shop which is full of all kinds of home, pantry and fresh food items. I came home with a pint of raspberries, a big bunch of strawberries (last of the season!), jars of pickled beets and bread and butter pickles, and a block of baby Swiss cheese. Everything has been absolutely fantastic and it would be easy to go absolutely wild in this store. Lots of events here during different seasons, especially apple and pumpkin season in fall which is their busiest time. After that they close for the year at Halloween. Come out and pick some berries or fresh lavender here this summer! It's a local gem.

Paying $20 for such a poor experience felt like a complete waste. What was even more disappointing was how the situation was handled. I returned the box and explained the issue. The employee simply took it back without any apology, explanation, or attempt to make things right. There was no offer of a partial refund, a voucher to come back when berries were actually available, or any acknowledgment that the experience had fallen far short of expectations. I understand that crops and harvest conditions can vary. What I don't understand is advertising a good picking experience when there is very little fruit available and then showing complete indifference when a customer expresses disappointment. Customer service matters just as much as the product. Unfortunately, this business failed on both counts. I won't be returning, and I would encourage others to call ahead and verify conditions before making the trip.

My visit to Kingfly Spirit on a Thursday night was an experience filled with cool, hip, and industrial vibes. Service was attentive and friendly. The ambiance was elevated by the presence of a live band, adding to the energetic atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the eclectic display of glass containers, which added a unique touch to the decor. I ordered a Manhattan and a Pain Killer to sip on while taking in the ambiance. While the Manhattan looked impressive, I found it slightly lacking in vermouth compared to my personal preference. However, the Pain Killer was a delightful surprise, with its tropical flavors reminiscent of a pina colada. Overall, Kingfly Spirit left me intrigued and eager to return to sample more of their libations. read more

All i can say is WOW!!! I have been disappointed with other "craft" distilleries in the area, but was knocked out by the over the top libations created by this talented group of rum runners. If opportunity finds you anywhere near this copper guiled jewel dont hesitate to stop in and enjoy the taste of its many highly refined spirits. You wont be sorry. You may be in need of a ride home though. The cocktails while surprising smooth have quit a kick. I think thats where this group separates themselves from other local distillers that in my opinion push drinks that taste like something my uncle Deeno made in a trailer down by the river. Yucka!!! The "Fly" is the pinnacle of local distilleries. Im glad they are here. My liver not so much. read more

So impressed with this new distillery! It's in a great location right down in the Strip District and they did a beautiful job renovating an old historic building to be functional for today's modern use while honoring it's history and original finishes. I had the pleasure of talking to the owner and head distiller, Blake, who was so friendly and really knowledgeable about the product and the whole process. He showed us how the beautiful copper still, in the center of the distillery worked, which made us as the customers feel so much more involved. The bartenders were great and really helpful. I recommend the "corn and oil" drink and the "dark and story". Looking forward to visiting again soon! read more

This is the best thing to happen to Pittsburgh since the Steelers. The venue is absolutely beautiful. The rustic wood beams and brass still pots make you feel like you just arrived at Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. I would recommend a flight of all of the spirits. The spiced Rum is incredible and the Limoncello is smooth and delightfully refreshing. Blake Ragghianti is the co-owner and General Manager. It's incredible I hear his story and you are captured by his knowledge of distilling. kingFly Spirits is a must-go if you're visiting our great city or if you live right next door. Kingfly is a new beautiful distillery in the resurging Strip District. I stopped in on opening day and toured the establishment. Beautiful is one word that comes to mind. Welcoming is another. The cocktails were well crafted and all the bartenders come from some pretty high profile places. The staff was friendly and as fast as possible on such a high traffic day. I tried the house brand bourbon, rum, and their take on an old fashioned. Everything tasted exquisite. The rum and bourbon were high-end and definitely worth adding to your collection. I went to Kingfly opening week. The space is incredible. It is an awesome place to hang out with friends, but it would be incredible for an event or party. You are surrounded by the distilling craft. You are in the middle of the whole distilling process. However it is a distillery, so it's about the booze. The spiced rum is wonderful to sip neat. The white rum is unique and a great ingredient for craft cocktails. Finally, the limoncello is absolutely on par with Sorrento. I'm looking forward to coming back and sampling some of the craft cocktails and food truck offerings. This is a cool place. read more

If you haven't been to Kingfly Spirits you're making a mistake. My wife and I showed up on a Wednesday night to celebrate her birthday and we couldn't have had a better experience. The building is stunning. The spirits are unmatched. We tried the limoncello and Bliss rum, both of which were outstanding. The bartender is a genius. I thought it was a bar when I first walked in, but in reality it is a distillery that makes very cool spirits. I think they even make their own vermouths and bitters - amazing! There are lots of distilleries around these days but there are few that actually care about quality in the way these guys do - and you can feel it. They are passionate. We were blown away with this impressive new hot spot in the strip! A Tasteful remodel of an old building, leaving enough original flair to make you feel like you've come home. The beautiful still, out in the open makes you feel like you're part of the distilling process. Couches, and tables and music, oh my! This is a beautiful place with incredible ambiance. They have maintained the historic feel of this wonderful building while making it a comfortable place to hangout. I am very hard to impress and they have exceeded all of my expectations! The Spiced Rum and Limoncello are delicious. Kingfly Spirits is the perfect hangout spot! Aside from the spirits being made right on site (you have to try the limoncello!) Everything about this place is cool, the atmosphere is relaxed and chill, you can sit in the lounge area for a more quiet vibe or sit at the bar if that's more your scene. This unique artisanal distillery is absolutely beautiful inside and out, and the staff is delightful. The place is quite large, and unusually cozy for an industrial space, with a loft that is the best kept secret in Pittsburgh.
