I certainly felt the burn and questioned if I"m getting enough "burn" back in Chicago. I took 4 classes here during my week in Dallas over Thanksgiving since it was just 1/2 a mile from my in-laws and had stellar Yelp reviews. The classes were easy enough to book via the mind body app. My instructors were David (the owner) and Asantra. Both are a bundle of energy, seem to have created an amazing community of gym rats and will kick your butt. They seem to switch up the exercises daily and it's a great combo of cardio and strength. I felt sore for the first time in months and therefore slightly less guilty about consuming all that Thanksgiving stuffing. The class is set up for circuit training stations. The first day I went was a small class of about 5, but then I had about 15 people in the rest of my classes. I was a little grossed out about sharing stations after others (the pandemic has made me paranoid), but there are plenty of wipes around and everyone did a great job of wiping down their stations before moving on to the next one. I'd definitely be a regular here if I lived in the Dallas area and hope to find a similar spot to "burn" some calories in the Chicago North Shore. read more

Did the two class trial David the owner is incredible! As far as this style of workout and facility great price for what you get. AHHHH-MAZING!!!! Need I say more? I stopped doing competitive bodybuilding in 2020 so to say I gained weight was an understatement. I needed routine back in my life that would keep me active and help me feel good about myself again. Workouts are on a Tabata like system and they really push you to do your best. The instructors David and Asantra are super welcoming and really strive to help you become the best version of yourself. I know that every class I am going to come out dying (in a good way) but always looking forward to the next days workout. This was an amazing workout, it actually exceeded my expectations. This full body station to station cardio and strength training, with a split second of air time (just kidding), kept me on my toes. The trainer and owner, David, who is an important part of my experience, encourages you when you feel you have no more to give. He gives corrections to make sure the intended muscle is being used. I always get an amazing, full-body workout when I'm here! I love how the high intensity workouts can be geared towards all fitness levels with modifications. They have a few different class formats but generally it consists of several strength workouts and cardio rounds. They have the original BURN class which is 10 minutes of cardio, 10 minutes of strength training, then back to 10 minutes of cardio, and finish off with 10 minutes of strength. They have treadmills, row machine, and bikes for their cardio options. Their strength workouts vary and could consist of using dumbbells, body weight, TRX, cable machine, bosu balls, medicine balls, and more! The workouts are always different which helps keep your body from hitting a plateau and working out with others in a group is a great motivator. The gym is now under new ownership by Dave and his wife and they are wonderful! All the instructors are friendly, encouraging, and make the workouts super fun. BURN is a great boutique studio. It's a bootcamp style and beware - it will kick your ass. Be prepared to sweat (and maybe cry a little.. just kidding... but really). They offer a good range of classes that involve both strength training & cardio. I don't know why I haven't posted earlier, but maybe it's the constant state of DOMS i've been living in since I started taking burn classes. The gritty: think orange theory meets a strictly strength or sculpting class. It's unique and a lot of fun. 45 minutes has never felt so long.. or burned so much. *I recommend taking Kelly's classes on the Saturdays if you want a really, really good workout. Reasonable prices, wonderful staff and a great facility. First two classes are free, so why not check it out? read more

What I like about Burn: + They offer a free trial class for new clients + Pretty convenient to get to, since there's ample parking in the lot + This is a good workout to supplement any cardio you do on your own I've only been to two classes, so I'd have to try the other instructors before concluding anything but I'll say that while I'm sure the workout was doing wonders for my muscles, I wish they incorporated longer sessions of cardio. I felt like I had to run on the treadmill at home for 20 minutes before/after class to really feel like I got a good workout in at Burn. read more

My favorite studio in Dallas to get my burn on. Workouts incorporate both cardio and strength exercises in a fast paced HIIT style class. Every class is different and utilizes different machines, you might use the treadmills, bikes, or rowing machine for the cardio portion. David is my favorite instructor due to his energy and quirkiness. Don't let him catch you slippin'- he'll call you out! Burn is a great place to workout. The classes are always different. Easy to schedule through app or online. Instructors are motivating engaging. I have a preference for group fitness classes. It is a lot more fun exercising with a group than on your own. Great balance of Strength and Cardio. You will have a great experience. I tried BURN for the first time last week on a Studio Hop class- WAIT! They offer two free classes!! I wish I would have known this before because the class I went to was just the style for me! Don't be intimidated, it was a really fun and challenging class. Your first visit you get to use their HR monitor for free. Which was an added perk and fun to watch my % go up and down! I tried one of the BURN classes (HIIT) and it was a great mix of weights and cardio. We did all sorts of exercises- 10 min of each rotation,4 different stations, do as many as you can and in the right way. Some HIIT classes I've been to they're all about as many as you possibly can as fast as you possibly can, my BURN instructor, Amy, focused more on accuracy of the skill rather than as many as I possibly could attempt to do. THAT is how you prevent injury! She was awesome, full of energy and gave off really positive vibes. I'll definitely be back for another round or two, they also don't limit how many classes you can do at the studio which is always nice! read more

Took a few classes here via ClassPass. The workout is good in theory, but not so great in execution - at least for a few of the classes I took. I teach 5 spin classes a week, so when I do classes elsewhere, the last thing I want to do is get on a spin bike. I was super disappointed that my most recent class there was 22 mins weights, and then 22 mins on the spin bike. The spin bike portion doesn't make much sense and it's hard to know what your resistance level is on the bike to really know if you're in the right burn/fire/lite zones. I think they should have gotten Keisers or others with gear/resistance shown to really know if you're working hard enough. I enjoyed the classes that incorporated the rowers and treadmills - their treadmills are top of the line and have quick buttons to help you quickly increase your speed/incline at the touch of a button. I haaaaaate TRX and some of the exercises just didn't make much sense and I was frustrated that I didn't get a modified exercise when I just couldn't nail the weird side bend exercise. It felt like wasted reps and time. Also, the energy in the classes was pretty low, but that could be due to the small class sizes. I was one of two-five in my classes, and the instructor just wasn't adding enough energy to the classes I attended to make it something super enjoyable. For the classes where I wore the HR monitor, I couldn't understand why I wasn't burning nearly as much as the other class takers but seemingly working just as hard. I wasn't impressed after burning just 200-300 calories in a class when I know I burn 350+ in other similar interval-based workout classes elsewhere. read more

BURN is the best workout I've gotten in Dallas!! It is a challenging full body workout incorporating resistance/strength training and cardio (HIIT) that keeps my heart rate up the whole time. I typically burn about 600-800+ calories in an hour long class and definitely leave feeling like I've had a great workout and have nothing left in the tank (my pet peeve is going feeling like I have to do an actual work out after a "work out" class). Dave is an AMAZING coach!!! He is fun, motivating, crazy energetic, and SMART about functional training and coaching. He's great about interacting with every client and ensuring clients are using the proper form and recruiting the correct muscles. WOW! WOW! WOW! A real workout with real people wanting to workout. The class was amazing with good energy. The instructor was energetic and really mixed things up well. This place provided a full body workout starting and finishing on-time. There are several places that imply a fully body workout when it is truly not that yet BURN knew how to deliver. I am an ARMY veteran with high expectations. It feels good to know BURN knows how to exceed expectations. This was by far my favorite group workout that I have experienced in Dallas. I have been taking Burn classes for a few months now and I love them! First, they offer 2 free classes and will not insist with you to join, they let you do the workouts and decide if it is a good fit for you. Everytime I go I get a different class, very challenging workout. The instructor pays attention to what you are doing and will correct you if need be. Sometimes the classes are pretty full, but I always feel like they are paying attention to what we are doing so we can make the most out to the workout and also avoid injuries. I usually do the classes early in the morning (5 or 6am) and the instructors I have had have been great! Marquette, Joe, Sarah...they all really push you to do your best! Finally, I would also like to refer that, compared to other studios out there, these classes are affordable and all the equipment they have is top notch, so you are really getting a lot of value! I would recommend this class to anyone who is looking for a full and varied workout and doesnt really want to spend a lot of time in the gym! read more

Ive been coming for almost two years and not one class has ever been the same/repeated. The classes and workouts are always different so it's a great mix and keeps you challenged. The blend of cardio and strength training is awesome and always can be tailored to the individual's personal fitness level. The instructors are awesome!! They are energetic, encouraging and knowledgeable. I really appreciate their encouragement during the workout, calling us out by name (makes it personalized) and pushing us to work harder. I appreciate their knowledge with all the moves and when they help correct my technique. This place is like family and I love that! I will forever be a Burn fan and swear by its results.
