I love this place, I've been a member here for 3 years as well as being a life time member back in Illinois pre covid. But this Life Time is like no other everybody is very friendly, the GM Courbin is cool and he's know 95 percent of the members by first name and all the employees are really cool. It's not the biggest location which I think makes people more sociable. Would definitely recommend if you're new to Dallas and want to meet people. I've been using this lifetime for 5+ years. I was wondering why it only has 3.5 stars so I went to go read the negative reviews. There are very few and far between. Most seem to be personally specific to the person posting. I've never had a single issue here where it would cause me to 1 star this place. It's one of the cleanest gyms I've gone to all over the world, the staff is always welcoming, even knowing names of the daily gym goers. That may not sound like a lot, but when you aren't feeling motivated and the front desk staff greet you by name well before you scan in, it can ignite that workout mood you need. They seem to have a "all hands on deck" policy for mass cleaning / organizing at certain times. I've never used a trainer there but most know be by name, or at least acknowledge me with a nodding hi as we pass. The equipment is clean, unlike other gyms where you feel you're going to catch something by touching it. Corbin, the manager is always receptive to comments and suggestions on improvements. When an issue arises it's always dealt with fast. Sure, I wish the technoGym weight equipment would be replaced by the latest fancy German engineered contraptions, and they would add a pendulum squat machine, but if I was to rate all the gyms in Dallas this definitely would be the best. read more

idk if you have met Van HBIC but it's a waste. She has clearly gone through pilates training but maybe she had training wheels. She treats her subordinates with no respect even though they may have a more accurate vision for training. She floats around and makes me and my wife uncomfortable while we are learning the studio. Everyone who gives this place a bad review is to soft and sensitive. I've been coming here now for almost a couple years they have remodeled the sauna. Redid the lighting. Updated the gym equipment and the staff is amazing and the place is always clean. Due to its location they don't have a pool but I don't swim anyways just saying and the GM is great! Just wanted to update to say this club is doing a wonderful job with COVID precautions and have been since they reopened in May. I go to weekly training sessions with Lindsay Siegel and have had no issues. Everyone is required to wear a mask plus do temperature checks. The staff is vigilant about cleaning down equipment with medical-grade cleaner. In 5 months, I haven't heard of a single COVID case in the club. I'm decently paranoid about this pandemic but I feel safe here. Bonus info: I highly recommend the Underarmour workout mask if you need one. You get used to it pretty fast. read more

Lifetime is a solid fitness "experience". Notice I didn't say gym. I will briefly explain- Great staff, super classes, hoops action is always going, nice locker rooms w sauna and steam, plenty of cardio, and a very well run spa with experienced therapists and reasonable costs. It is however tough to get a bench, squat rack, or dumbbell during lunch or after work. There is also a lack of enforcement on the "throwing weights down" and "cell phone calls" on the floor that can be pretty annoying. Daycare is hit or miss. Sometimes you get employees that are very engaging and playful and then there are times when its full of 30+ kids and the "purge" is filming a childs version. I stopped bringing my son when they implemented a $15 monthly "kids membership" or something extra that was added on to my dues. Overall I would still recommend as it is clean and safe. I have never used a trainer here but I just like anywhere there are some very good ones and a few that take their clients through the exact same routine all day long. For pure strength training I think Josh is top notch and for a creative HIIT I like what David Kamali does. They did just promote one of the top guys I have ever dealt with Corben to GM so I will re-visit this after he has had a chance 30-60 days to implement a "hands on" approach. So I've been going to this gym for years now. Still love it here sooooo much! I would like to update my trainer recommendations as my first trainer still works there and is AMAZING (Jamie) he works less hours now than before and really hard for me to make happen with my work schedule. That being said Josh is PHENOMENAL! Seriously mind blown how much he's taught me in such a short period of time. His knowledge is vast and easy to understand. He's very punctual and cares deeply about proper form/technique so reduce injury! His technique/form is the most impressive part as to how important it is to have that precise before moving up into heavy weights. The part that surprised me the most is his ability to watch really closely how you push/pull weight and see there maybe a hang up in a completely other area of your body than what you expect. He'll have you try a few movements to make sure it's what he thinks it is then he will massage that area and before you know it, there's soooooo much more range of motion! I also did an Active Metabolic Test with Zach who has been in the industry for 18 years and is soooooo passionate about helping you and making sure you are happy. The gym is top notch as you would expect from any lifetime, but What sets this location apart is the people and Corbin I have to assume is spearheading that. I used to frequent this gym years ago and took a break from the lifetime network. Today I returned to the location I used to frequent. Everyone still knew who I was and Corbin personally approached me to say hello and let me know I was missed. I would definitely recommend this gym and this franchise to anyone who wants to feel welcome and taken car me of while working out. I was a little disappointed on the way one of the employees screamed at me in the locker room. I was new to the gym taking a visit and didn't know the rules in the locker room I usually take pictures to record my progress while I was doing that and employee screamed at me twice to put the phone away full on screaming it was turning heads in the locker room I didn't even get a warning. I was in fault because of the video but a warning wouldn't hurt but yelling is just disrespectful and annoying. I expect better. And since I am 13 I did feel that he was a little harsher on me for no apparent reason. please fix this. read more

I used to love this place when I was a member years ago because of the elliptical machines, yoga, kickboxing, and steam room, so that's why I'm stilling giving it three stars. The Life Cafe made-to-order protein smoothies and high-quality locker rooms are great as well. However, when I visited the other day for spin, it was disappointing. I have been going to a Lifetime Gold-level gym in Tulsa, which is MUCH nicer and larger than this Diamond-level gym. MUCH. I kept telling myself that once I moved back to Dallas, I would upgrade to the Diamond gym again, but after my experience last week, I will not. First, I visited this gym to take a spin class which is my main goal in looking for a good Dallas gym. It was AWFUL. The equipment is old, and I had to switch bikes FOUR times before I found one that worked, then the screen broke on me after we started class with the power icon flashing. The bikes don't even have gears on them, and you have to turn the knob a lot to get resistance increases. At the Lifetime in Tulsa, they have new bikes with gears and better programming/settings. Considering this is a Diamond-level gym with high membership rates, you would think they could afford to buy the newer bikes as well. When I mentioned it to the instructor, he said the gym decided to stay away from bikes with gears because people couldn't take care of them as well. Really?! I'm pretty sure if Tulsa can do it, then Dallas can do it. Second, the spin instructor was not a spin instructor. I could barely hear what he was saying through his microphone, and he kept changing songs at awkward times. He also wasn't timing his instructions with the music. He was mostly monotone as well.... "Work....work...up....down...work" all in the same tone. So weird and not motivating. Lifetime, you need to improve your spin classes. Take a visit to Tulsa and go through a spin class with Megan E. She's one of the best spin instructors I've ever had, and the equipment is top notch. She could easily work at Ride House in Dallas, that's how good she is, and her classes are dark during the day whereas it's too bright in these spin classes. I would rather pay more to go to a different gym with awesome spin classes. If spin isn't a big deal to you, then it's still a good gym overall. read more

Excellent experience at life time. Been a member since 94. We love their cafe! The food and service are superb! Love the smoothies. They have a large selection of exercise equipment for everyone and many classes to choose from. The locker room and showers are very nice and clean. I enjoyed this gym when I first joined two years ago. I like the updated squat racks and bumper plates. But man, the general manager and the membership reps are terrible. Who are they hiring?! When I first got here, they hired the most friendliest staff. If I had questions, they answer them all and was very informative. You ask the lady closest to the checkin desk and she gives one word answers with an attitude. Reason why I ended up cancelling my membership. Had some friends who wanted to join. Asked the girl for the price and she acted as if it was the hardest part of her job. For the price people pay to come here to this so called "diamond" gym, at least be friendly to the members! This place is good, convenient and the trainers are helpful and friendly. It was clean and comfortable to work out at, too. However, the management and management company I've never been impressed with. They clearly are there not to make it more comfortable for you, but to ensure they squeeze every penny out of you. I've been to another gym where they charged more, but they made it extremely clear they were there to help and assist you. Just be wary, they slowly increase your bill without giving you notice even through email, to cancel the membership you have to give a signature on paper which is just a way to make it more difficult (send a certified letter that can't be emailed or faxed???), and you have to give one month's notice, just so they can squeeze one more month out. read more

The trainer carli kicked my booty into shape in a fun way today! Also the greeters kill it! They know our name when we walk up and always say something nice or positive when we leave. Bridgette has a great yoga class that's good for all levels and georgettes yoga class is a helluva workout. I also saw a trainer (5,10ish, muscular with the beard) today go up and correct a deadlifter which I've never seen at gym before. I decided to come here because it's so close to where I live. The gym is very clean and has a good selection of equipment. The staff is pretty friendly too. I would give this place a 5 star rating if the price of it wasn't so high. I've been to other Life Time establishments were membership rates were half of what I am paying now. [Should be a 2.5 star rating but there are no halves and 3 is too high.] TL;DR: The people are great. As a gym, the facility is sub-par, especially for the price. Full version: Life Time does some things right: -Kids club is great and huge - and it better be, because at any given time on the weekend there are 50+ kids in there. Solid though and good programming like kids yoga. -There's a parking garage attached to the building which is nice in the rain and Texas summer heat. -There's a great view of the SMU campus from the lobby. - There are four new Olympic lifting stations (though four isn't enough, these are usually all taken). -Everyone who works here is super friendly. Great staff, great location, but a sub-par facility when compared to any other big-box gym - at three times the price. The areas where Life Time falls short are areas that any other basic $40/month gym nails every time without blinking: -There are not enough weight benches (that goes for utility benches, incline benches and barbell press benches). -There's not enough cardio equipment (you will likely be waiting unless you want to use the elliptical that has dial-a-weight dumbbells attached - haven't seen anyone on that machine yet). -There's not enough space, so guests are on top of each other most workouts - that goes for busy times as well as non-peak hours. This place is always packed. -The equipment, build-out and aesthetic of the whole facility look like they're straight from the 1980's - though cleaned regularly. They are definitely on top of their cleaning game. -Thie locker room is usable, this is the one area that Life Time is above big box gyms - though not by much. You can take a shower and not come out all sweaty again once you're dressed and there are plenty of towels. -You'll find the same misuse of stations as anywhere else (curls in the squat rack, curls in the bench press) though the staff doesn't enforce proper use of equipment, which makes for longer wait times. -Been here three weeks - both of the two weekends I've waited on equipment - weights and cardio. Starting next week Life Time is closing their entire free weight area for a full two weeks. I spoke with the GM who assured me that: yes, the free weight area would be closed the next two weeks (i.e., no barbells, no dumbbells) but there would be plenty of "resistance equipment" available (i.e., cable machines - see prior reference to the 1980's when cable machines were considered a solid option for weight training and when heavy lifting was considered dangerous; they have their place for rehab, modifications, mobility, and smaller muscle groups - but with machines, heavy compound lifts are out). Essentially, for the next two weeks Life Time Athletic will the same as a Planet Fitness, with a nicer locker room (though the times I've been to Planet Fitness there was no wait for cardio equipment) - and also Planet Fitness is only $10 per month. All that said - if you're looking for non-weight training or non-cardio, this may be a great fit for you - can't speak to that. They have lots of classes, basketball, and racquetball. read more

Great club! Everything from the staff to the services... The front desk people are very friendly and not much turnover with them. The Life Cafe is pretty good, but it's mainly just convenient. The locker rooms have a hot tub, and wet and dry saunas. They do a good job at keeping them clean. The training area is as versatile as you want it to be! There are simple machines for every muscle group, and there are plenty of free weights and Olympic lift equipment. Then, the cardio equipment is very sufficient. I don't use them as often, but there are a ton of treadmills, stair masters, ellipticals, and even a surf machine! Last but not least, the location is stellar. It's right off the highway on the 7th floor behind the Merrill Lynch building. It's accessible from anywhere! I'd recommend this place to anyone! read more

i LOVE this gym! Sure, prices were kinda expensive (especially for someone who isn't serious about working out). But the price did make me work out way more than I ever planned to. I felt the need to work out extra since I'm paying so much. This gym is unlike all other Lifetime gyms. Other Lifetime gyms are HUGE, over packed, and has tons of amenities for children that I would never use. Premier place is a decent size and had all the amenities that were perfect for me, such as the spin room, pilates room, and a small cardio area. This gym was never packed which is why I loved it. I went to spin class every day while I was there, it was awesome. There was a different instructor every day, which I liked because it brought variety to the workouts. When signing up, I was given a few free personal training sessions. I took advantage of it and met with a personal trainer. They gave assessments and helped with areas I needed to improve on. Their sessions are outrageous so I would probably never pay for it - I'll only opt for the free ones :) Another added bonus was their locker rooms. Inside the locker rooms was a hot sauna, steam room and jacuzzi spa. There were lots of individual showers and you never had to wait on anybody. Lifetime also provided razors, deodorant, mouth wash and makeup remover so you never had to bring anything from home. If only all Lifetime Clubs were like this one..... read more

I had poor experience with lifetime previously but got a membership from my mom as a gift. She was told I just needed to go in an have my picture taken and would be set to go. After 30 min trying I left and told them I didn't want it and to refund it. I was then called by a manager and asked to please give them another shot. I did cane back to the club for 2 days without an issue. Day was told I need to pay 114 more dollars per month for access to the same club they had let me into for 2 days and I was told by a manager my membership could access. I told them I wasn't interested and to please cancel the membership within the 7 day full refund period. They said yes and I got in writing from them that it would she refunded. Then I get a call from lifetime telling me they can't refund me because I had a membership before even though I was told by a member that i could refund within 7 days. However when it comes to reviewing this individual club, it is the dirties w the most broken machines of all and costs the most. What read more

It's hard work maintaining my image of a stud muffin. So, I spend quite a few hours in the gym maintaining a body that even Adonis would be proud to have. For years, I have honored Lifetime Fitness with my manly presence, which has, undoubtedly, bolstered their membership drives. Seriously---after touring the gym and witnessing a body of masculine perfection such as mine, what prospective member could possibly NOT join Lifetime with the false hopes of attaining a physique of something similar to mine? (Sadly, Lifetime has not compensated me for this valuable marketing service, nor have they even comped my membership. Oh well.) Since I've been regular member at Lifetime for nearly a decade (and even longer if one considers the predecessor club that Lifetime acquired years ago), you might ask, 'What keeps you there, Gustavo?" Okay, I'll tell you. For the buck, this location is still one of the better gyms in town. Since this is a Lifetime Onyx level membership club, the amenities are a tad nicer--such as complimentary razors, a bit more upscale locker facilities, and newer equipment. It measures favorably with Equinox, and in ways, it's better. And it's convenient. Located right on Central Expressway near Mockingbird, I can quickly and easily zip to Lifetime from most anyplace in central Dallas that I frequent (and no, you'll never make a Gustavo sighting in the burbs). Most importantly, Lifetime has plenty of mirrors. Lots and lots of mirrors. After all, working out would be damn near impossible if I couldn't catch a glimpse of yours truly pumping iron; my body glistening with sweat. Are there downsides of my membership at Lifetime? A few. My gym life becomes a living Hell shortly after the first of the year when the hordes of New Years Resolution folks descend on the gym. Too many folks with no gym etiquette leaving a trail of unwiped sweat and emitting a cacophony of grunts, much like a baboon tribe in the Congo at the onset of mating season. Also, for my tastes, there's too many dudes; many strutting around in a fruitless competition of who's Alpha Dog for the Day. But then again, I begrudgingly can't blame Lifetime for these small blemishes, even though I wish they would quiz prospective members on etiquette and threaten to neuter any dude that acts like a douche. So, if you're checking out Lifetime and you happen to spy me and immediately have the sudden and overwhelming urge to join---please tell the Lifetime folks to give me at least 20% off my membership dues. read more
