I have been coming to children's theater, live events, participated in camps, youth group, speakers, cooking classes, and created magic here for years. Family oriented. Community forward. Remember to rsvp for your swim lane, class spot in advance. Dance classes are in point. Can't wait to try Pilates and Yoga, next. Locker rooms are recently renovated with showers, lockers, hair dryers, cold plunge, and sauna/steam rooms. I've tried the pizza and protein boxes, upstairs. Keep posted for the pool cantina's hours, as well. If the front desk seems swamped, give grace. There's always something going on/ they're doing their best. My wife & I made an appointment to rejoin as requested for 10:30am . We arrived early @ 10:25am & checked in. After waiting 15 minutes & checkingwith no response after 30 minutes in , we left very disappointed . We were looking forward to becoming members again & donors as well. Sorry to experience such poor performance. I hope this review will help them improve. read more

I always enjoy the events that I attend and the schmoozing that accompanies the visit. I was here for the Jewish Film Festival and it was nice to have a live visit. I was able to speak with Sissy Zoller who I haven't seen live for almost two years. I'm looking forward to more visits. I enjoyed picking up the Kosher Meals on Wheels here and delivering them. read more

This is why I'm not renewing my JCC membership. I waited for months for the new and improved weight room to open. I'm disappointed because it's upstairs and half the time the elevator is broken. I just had a knee surgery. The weight room itself is cramped and poorly designed with an awkward track running around the edge. Weight training is obviously not a priority. Summer camp and kids programs are the priority. Parking is atrocious. Just thinking about going over there with a class scheduled makes me anxious. And forget Summer when whole parking lots are roped off for the KIDS. You don't need a membership to attend a senior lunch, that's if you can make it past the overzealous young man at the door who demands your membership card. Huh? The whole place feels disorganized and chaotic. charming yes, but also old and smelly. In the morning the older ladies swim group takes over the dressings rooms, and they do take over -- the benches, the showers and cover your eyes if nudity offends. The Official Spinning facility is top notch. The equipment is top notch and the coaches are all Spinning certified so you know you are getting the best of the best. The staff are friendly. The facility is clean. The classes offered are plenty. Excellent location for training...especially if you're serious about training smart. read more

The J is pretty awesome. Employees are friendly and courteous. Tons of programs and classes. Very good communication and emails. Large outdoor swimming pool, indoor lap pool and indoor play pool. Great gymnasium for basketball, gymnastics room, tennis courts, ping pong nights with serious players, outdoor soccer and softball fields. Excellent spin classes and instructors. Good gym with free weights and machine and mini lap track. Great summer camps and theatre program and the home base for the Dallas Maccabi program. All in a nice neighborhood undergoing a mega-McMansion revitalization, conveniently located between 75 and Hillcrest. Only downside is that the area where classes are held is a little dark and dungeon-y and could use some renovation and hours could be a little better (they close at 6pm on Sundays). read more

I seriously could not wait to get home and write a review about this amazing place after day 2 of working out here. I'm a brand new member and I am over-the-top impressed and pleased with my decision to join. From the many amenities and conveniences, to the variety of classes and programs, to the friendly staff and clean facilities...I am 200%+ satisfied to call this my new gym home. What makes this place truly phenomenal for me, is the small details and conveniences they provide for members in the locker areas. There's cotton swabs, mouthwash, hairspray, deodorant, hair dryers with multiple toppers, seats for the shower and the primping areas, large and small towels, face and body lotion, showers with body soap, conditioner, and shampoo (all separate), a water extractor with plastic bags to transport your wet things home (WOW), free secure lockers, and heart monitors for use during workouts should you wish to track that. The heart monitor results can also be displayed during workouts in the group fitness room, how amazing is that and what a great motivator??! The amount of activities offered by JCC is equally amazing. There's swimming (in an AWESOME pool area, indoor and outdoor), gymnastics, tennis, racquetball, spin, pilates, spinflex, yoga, and tons of other group fitness classes and programs. There's many classes every day of the week and most are included with your membership. I am seriously ecstatic to be a part of this amazing complex...it's truly a beautiful community with so much to do. If you've been wanting to find somewhere new and you're located within a decent distance from Northaven/75 (close to Royal/75) you should MOST DEFINITELY check this place out!!! We had our recital event here , the event space was great, but the staff , especially the Mask police, was extremely rude. The entire event , he was screaming and yelling across the lobby. He made several families feel unwelcome. He was completely unprofessional . It was a time for families to celebrate, and here he is, screaming and yelling at children to wear their masks. Completely disgusting behavior! read more

I had a wonderful experience with adult swimming lessons at the j! After sort of learning to swim as a kid and then a 30+ year break, I wanted to try to swim for exercise. After 6 lessons with steve, I felt very confident and comfortable swimming laps. Everyone was friendly, the pool area was extremely COVID-safe, and the lesson times were very quiet and peaceful at the pool. It was not at all stressful or scary and the atmosphere is very non-judgmental. I left each lesson with exercise plans to practice the skills I learned, and i learned concrete new skills at each lesson. I would highly recommend these lessons to anyone who would like to improve their swimming for either safety or fitness. read more

This is a no brainer to join, especially if you live in the neighborhood. The most safe and secure workout facilities in Dallas. The tennis center and staff are exceptional as well as the workout facilities and basketball gyms. Also, they have an amazing indoor pool for kids and a separate lap pool. The outdoor pool is very large. Limited parking near gym entrance, but no fear of car break ins with the guarded gate entry and security presence. read more

This review is strictly regarding their aquatics facilities. Took some swim classes through Jim Montgomery Swim that took place at the J. The facility is great. We had an outdoor pool with a nice deep end to work with in addition to the lap pool and warm water pools indoors. Ok locker rooms with large private showers. While I won't be joining the J since it's a bit out of my way to regularly use the facility, I do recommend it. read more

Came here for a table tennis match. This facility is very nice and quite a large campus. If i live in Dallas I would probably be here every day if possible. I spent the majority of my time in their gym. Seems as they have lots of facilities for working out, swimming, etc. read more

The JCC is my kids' home away from home and we aren't even Jewish. My kids have gone to summer camp here, taken tennis lessons and more. My husband and I have also taken tennis lessons. The facilities are fantastic for sports and community events and the staff is terrific. The head of the summer camps, Laura Seymour, has been there for decades and totally gets camp and what's appropriate for different ages. My kids' first overnight was there--a night of kosher hotdogs and G-rated movies at the J when they were about 7. I would give the JCC six stars if I could. read more

Love this place! We have taken lot of lessons from some of the finest coaches here for adults and kids, both! Jim Montgomery Swim Program is one the best for adults ! Facility lifeguards are very attentive to small kids indoor and outdoor. Pool rules are followed very strictly and love the discipline.. Demographics matters for this place esp as the crowd and people they recruit are so well behaved that we have left our kids in pool areas without our supervision.. there are very few places like these where you can actually feel safe to do that. horrible membership customer service. confused staff. blamed the member. took no responsibility for giant mixup. condescending. cannot believe this respected organization has such pathetic staff. i have no idea which services are available, policies, activities.... nothing. what little i was told in beginning was negated by other staff. frustrating read more

I was recently looking around for gym alternatives after being less-then-impressed with my last (big-chain) gym. I live close to the JCC, but I called first because I was unsure if you could even get a membership if you are not Jewish (you can), which may have been a stupid question, but the lady on the phone was professional and polite and assured me that people made that inquiry regularly.....and she sounded like she meant it, which I appreciated. :) I scheduled an appointment and had a tour with a very sweet lady named Bev, and I was quite impressed with the facilities. The pools, sauna area and locker room all seemed very clean/sanitary. The machines appeared to be in great working order, (with a television on every machine!), along with an indoor track! Overall it just felt more welcoming and friendly then my previous gym. I have not checked out the tennis or racquetball courts yet, but I am excited to do so very soon! This is a smaller facility than the big corporate places, but I really appreciate how much they have to offer for the size and how comfortable it feels there (I'm really self -conscious in a gym environment) ....and I am happy to be contributing to the community I live in! I realize that with this being a smaller facility, there could be questions about waiting for machines etc. I will update/adjust my review accordingly after I have been going regularly for awhile as well as at different times of the day. read more

Such a wonderful gem in Dallas! We've been members of the J for about a year and love it! The indoor pool is exceptional with a lovely warm water pool which our 1 year old loves! The outdoor pool is a blast in the summer and rarely overcrowded. The staff at the J couldn't be nicer - Chad is wonderful and the staff at the desk always have smiles to greet members! The gym is also top notch and while I haven't taken any classes myself, the schedule is packed with good activities. read more
