I wish I had known about Burners sooner. My first experience was in the store. Greeted right away, very very knowledgeable guys, made great selections. My second experience was an online order. I live on the other side of Norman and it can be a time consuming trip to Birkdale. I was thoroughly impressed at the packaging my order came in and of course being so close it only took a day to arrive. I highly recommend Burners! My wife purchased two cigars for me totaling $72 for Father's Day. The first transaction was approved by the lending institution, however, the clerk subsequently ran the card two more times which resulted in the bank thinking the vendor was attempting to fraudulently charge my wife's card 3 times in the same amount. My wife showed the clerk that the initial debit was completed and only the subsequent 2 attempts for the same amount had been declined due to suspicious activity by the vendor. Not only did they not refund her money, but they didn't give her the two cigars she already paid for. I have been buying cigars and referring customers to Burners for years, but after today and after speaking with the owner Josh, I would highly HIGHLY discourage anyone from doing business here. Located in a great area, the Birkdale Mall. An open air mall with plenty of bars, restaurants and retail giants. You can drop off the missus and while she shops, you can spend the hour here with a fine cigar. Alternatively, you can pick up a smoke to enjoy outside after your dinner in the area. Burners stays open late, and that is much appreciate. Gives us folks enough time to get a cigar after dinner. Their selection is pretty good. You can find some good smokes here. Prices are higher, maybe $1-$2 more than other stores, but its location, friendly service and late hours make it worth it. Store has amenities such as the TV, couch, tables, wifi .. all making it a suitable temporary man cave. read more

I have visited the shop in Huntersville, NC, several times while visiting from VA. The shop has a great atmosphere and all the employees and customers have a positive and friendly energy. The staff is very knowledgeable and recommended several cigars in my price range that were all great. I now order cigars monthly from burners and have them shipped to Va. I order from the same employee each time. I just let him pick them for me and I have not had one I didn't like. It's really enjoyable to constantly be trying new ones and they all be good. Anybody can sell cigars, but Burners celebrates all that is great about the fraternity that enjoys premium cigars. I live outside Chicago, I visited once and was immediately welcomed. Every visit since then has been hanging with guys that I feel I've known for a longtime. It's almost like a barbershop where no topic is taboo, it's okay to BS, and laughter is always present. Josh and his staff are knowledgeable, candid, and obviously cigar smokers. The cigar selection is great. Hard to find, really good, and flavored are all available. Prices are spot on and accessories also run the gamut. There are comfortable leather chairs and, thank God, ventilation. What makes Burners special are the people. Every demographic is welcomed. Every person is cordial. There are no airs, just a great place. I'm glad I stopped in, because traveling would have been a monotonous, lifeless bore. read more

We went to the cigar shop yesterday while we were out shopping I think the humidor has issues because the cigars were nowhere near as fresh as they should have been. Very disappointed in the shop this is the 2nd time I've gone in there and both times have been disappointed with The quality of the cigars but I definitely recommend their pipe tobacco selection though small it is very fresh Recommend the pipes and pipe supplies I would stay away from their humidor and their cigars in the humidor.... read more

I've been a cigar smoker for nearly 20 years- have visited more lounges, cigar shops than I could possibly remember... never have I been treated the way I was at Burners. Upon entering, with my wife, we moved towards one section of the lounge that had cigars in a case (mind you acids, drew estate cigars, NOT $$$ cigars) and were quickly shooed away and told to wait until we were waited on. Then we walked into their walk-in humidor, that had no indication or signage that accompaniment from staff is needed- we walked around and perused, when suddenly we were again told to "get out" and wait until we were waited on. Never have I been to a cigar lounge or store where I needed to be escorted around as if I were a five year old, needing someone on staff to simply hand me the cigars I already knew I wanted. Embarrassing. We wanted to help a local business. We walked not even 100ft to the Total Wine, bought the exact the same cigars with no hassle and continued our night. Sorry Burners, wanted to give you my business, but if you treat every customer the way we were, I don't see how you will stay in business. I will gladly continue to take my business to the JR cigars up the street, where I am treated properly, and/or the many Total Wines in the area with similar selection and superior customer service. Thanks for the response - completely understand the policy - the signs stating that employees must handle cigars is not visible, however, that was not my main concern. Completely understand the policy again given our current situation, it's the way we were "reprimanded" and treated by your employee that has me never wanting to do business there again. read more

On yesterday, I tried to support Burners Cigar Co. our hometown lounge. As a loyal customer and friend of the lounge, I was highly disappointed with Avery. While we are standing at the door, he came to the door and took my order and my credit card. He also took orders of several other customers. As he proceeded to go inside and prior to him processing my transaction, I opened the door and stood in the door with it opened and asked for one more cigar to be added to my order. He then yelled "No one is allowed inside of the lounge!" I politely stepped the one foot I had in the door, back outside and asked again to add that one cigar. Avery, then leaves the register, although the three Black customers, who are all loyal friends of the lounge and are NO threat to the establishment, and comes and LOCK the door. I am appalled by his actions! Micah, then unlocks the door and comes outside to talk to another customer. Avery never returned to face me after this and proceeded to give Micah my receipt. I am concerned and I think those who witnessed this are due an explanation. read more

Went in to pick up a few cigars. They have a smaller selection compared to larger cities, but after about 15 minutes I'd found substitutes for everything I was looking for. Went out to the register and didn't want to give my personal information for their mailing list. Eric was the cashier and visibly mocked me for declining. After not being able to ring up my items and asking me to show him where they were so he could get the prices, I decided to leave. I couldn't stomach so rudely being mocked. It was clearly due to be being female. I can't recall a similar experience when purchasing an item ever, but if you're a single female...bring a male with you who can handle Eric's unnecessary bristle. read more

Unfortunately my experience there was not good. Purchased a fairly expensive lighter that turned out to be defective. When I tried to return it the very next day they wouldn't accommodate. Josh, Rich, Ted, and Jennifer are intelligent and insightful. Every time I go there I have a great time. I cannot say that about every place I go to in Huntersville. 4/2014 Josh just sponsored a trip through Rocky Patel ....13 of us went to Honduras and Nicaragua and learned about cigar agriculture, manufacturing from seed to box. All expenses were covered, we just had to pay for flights. The owner JOSH is a great guy. RICH the manager-- quite frankly , you cannot find a more knowledgeable, friendly person. This place is a godsend. I absolutely love going here and have made many nice friends. The staff is friendly and down-to-earth unlike some others I've been to. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that they've still got to build up their cigar stock some.
