Was asked to travel to company headquarters for no reason other than some kind of morale boosting event after hours. One evening our team booked a dinner at Link & Pin NorthCross. I think this place is a little overrated but there are a lot of highs here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is fantastic. Inside looks like a high end luxury cigar bar combined with modern fine dining. As per the norm, the primary color palette is brown and gray. But we have leather seating here as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The wait staff was super friendly and accommodating, and patient as our team was taking our sweet time ordering food and drinks. Why I put this at a three and not four is because there are no salt shakers on the table. That means the chef has to be absolutely spot on with seasoning. Without the table top seasoning there isn't much lee-way to under season. As such, I love a heavy hand, and my food came to the table as bland as it could be. I ordered the sable and scallops with caramelized Brussels sprouts. I needed that salt shaker without a doubt. The cookery was good, you could taste the quality, but I needed that accentuating from the salt. Everyone else loved their meals. Company paid so I don't know overall price, but expect it to not be cheap. This is a special occasion kind of restaurant. I don't think I'd voluntarily go again. read more

Last night, my wife and I visited Link & Pin for the first time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon arrival, we were immediately impressed by the atmosphere. The décor was absolutely our style mid-century influences, rich wood, talk ceilings, a beautiful bar, large windows, and a warm, inviting ambiance. The music playlist was also excellent and added to the overall experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were especially impressed by our server, Adastee. She was attentive, helpful, friendly, and delightfully quirky in the best way. She genuinely enhanced our evening and provided some of the best service we've had in a long time. We started with the bread appetizer, and it was outstanding. The bread was fresh-baked, served with a rich honey butter, and finished with just the right touch of salt. It was an excellent start to the meal. We also shared a bowl of lobster bisque. My wife really enjoyed it. For me, it was a bit earthier than I prefer and not quite as creamy and rich as other lobster bisques I've had, but that's purely a matter of personal taste. Unfortunately, this is where the evening stopped being exceptional. My wife ordered the lobster roll. The presentation was beautiful, and the portion size was generous. However, the lobster itself was overcooked, rubbery, and lacked flavor. The accompanying fries were delicious, but the lobster was disappointing. I ordered the Delmonico ribeye with mashed potatoes. I requested the steak medium rare, but it arrived well done with an overly charred exterior. I rarely send food back, but when you're spending around $60 on a premium cut of steak, it's hard to overlook that level of overcooking. To their credit, Adastee immediately noticed the issue before I even said anything, and the manager came by twice to apologize and check on us. Unfortunately, it took nearly 20 minutes for a replacement steak to arrive. During that time, my mashed potatoes remained on the table, so by the time the new steak arrived, the potatoes were cold and my wife had essentially finished her meal. While the replacement steak was prepared better, it was closer to medium than medium rare and still lacked flavor. I'm not sure if the restaurant intentionally seasons its steaks lightly and expects guests to add their own seasoning, but the steak was surprisingly bland and tougher than expected. They did bring a small side if warm potatoes back For comparison, we frequently dine at 131 Main just down the road, and their ribeye is consistently juicy, flavorful, tender, and cooked exactly as ordered. We really wanted to love Link & Pin, but both of our entrées fell short of expectations. That said, because we genuinely enjoyed the atmosphere, appreciated the excellent service, and loved the overall vibe of the restaurant, we're willing to give it another try. Perhaps this was simply an off night, and we'll explore other menu options on a future visit. I was initially leaning toward a three-star review. However, when the bill arrived, nothing had been adjusted despite the steak being sent back, the lengthy delay, and the cold sides that resulted. That ultimately lowered my rating to two stars. I was expecting them to offer to comp an appetizer or a discount off of our next visit or a dessert or something, but nothing had been adjusted which surprised me at this level of restaurant. We're hopeful our next visit will be a better experience, and if it is, we'll gladly adjust our review. To those planning a visit, I sincerely hope your nosh is a little better than ours was. read more

Looked forward to this place for restaurant week and was a bit disappointed. The Caesar salad lacked flavor and wasn't anything special. The filet also had no flavor and the mashed tasted like absolutely nothing. The salads that came on our plate were covered in blue cheese, which I can't stand. So I barely ate it. The drinks and chocolate cake (which was $7 more) were the highlight of the night. The server was great. Patient and really friendly. The stocky, middle aged man walking the floor all night, coming up to tables multiple times asking how everything is was....odd. Leave us alone to enjoy our meal. There was three of us so our server did not take the time to quality check the orders because she bagged my order to my coworker because when I got home and opened up my boxes, I did not have my bread. I had Instead the general Taos chicken that was supposed to go to my friend so I spent close to $300 and ordered some extra bread to bring home but got none of that so not happy at all. This was my third time here and probably my favorite! We came here for brunch. We got the mimosa tray and it was amazing! They had so many different flavors and fruit to put it. Totally worth it! My wife and daughter took me to this restaurant for Father's Day and, in my humble opinion, they made an excellent choice. We arrived around 5:00pm and, even though the place was somewhat crowded, the noise level was tolerable. Our server was Tomyka, and she was fantastic. She was attentive, efficient and very personable. I'd noticed a beautiful painting on the roof over the bar, and she proceeded to give us the history of the painting and how it came to be in the restaurant. Then, she proceeded to give us a history of the restaurant! I started my meal with General Tso's Cauliflower (you have to try this!). My entree was the Simply Seasoned Salmon, which was very good. I've been to the other Link & Pin location in the city, so I knew this was a solid choice for my husband's birthday brunch. Just as I expected, delicious food and cocktails plus a gorgeous restaurant and friendly service. I love their lobster rolls and creative cocktails. I docked a couple stars however due to the long wait for our drinks and the noise level in the smaller dining area--at one point it was so loud, we just sat in silence for a bit instead of trying to yell across the table at one another. I'm also disappointed that my husband wasn't offered a birthday dessert/drink/anything. I've seen birthday deserts at the other Link & Pin locations, so I'm not sure why my husband or the woman at the table next us celebrating her birthday didn't receive anything at the NorthCross location. At the end of the day, it's just a "nice-to-have" gesture but it really rubbed me the wrong way. I would come back here for brunch again but definitely not to celebrate a special event. read more

I have visited on two occasions, once for dinner (June 2023) and again for brunch (Dec 2023). The dinner experience was exceptional. We ordered flounder+ lobster Mac cheese and and impossible burger. The flounder was so huge we could have easily gotten by with sharing the founder and Mac between two people! Our server was attentive and when there was a mistake with our order she was apologetic, admitted that she made the mistake and quickly corrected it. On the second visit I would rate the experience as just okay. Our server was a little more sluggish. The food was still excellent. This time was brunch, so I had blueberry waffles (freshest fluffiest waffles EVER!) and an omelette. The server was polite enough, but rarely checked on us (we had to flag him down when we needed something) and didn't provide requested refills. Again, there was a mistake with our order and it was again corrected promptly. Overall we had a decent experience both times. Their cocktails have been consistently good. I am highly recommending the flounder and Mac n' cheese! I certainly plan to visit again. read more

Wow a friend of mine suggested we go here for dinner as she indicated it was a favorite of hers. And it didn't disappoint! They have a great menu with various options and price ranges. She had the scallops and I had the shrimp and sausage with grits. I really enjoyed mine and there was enough to take home for a second meal. It had a small kick of heat that was not overpowering at all. Her scallops came with Mexican street corn, cotija cheese, baby carrots and onion straw. I was driving north and stopped in Huntersville NC for the night. I went to a local dinner place called Link & Pin and the food was amazing. I hade the bone-in filet medium rare and it was the best steak I've every had. I made it a pint to stopped again on the way back and had the bone-in porterhouse. It was equally amazing. Today we celebrated my god-niece for her 18th birthday. She chose Link & Pin, this was my first time going and I was truly impressed. Our waitress did a great job because it was a very large party. She handled us with grace. The setting was trendy. And the bar area was large and roomy. I didn't get a lot of pictures of the inside because I was too busy taking pictures of the birthday girl. Needless to say the inside was very nice and clean. I loved the bathrooms private stalls and great lighting. Now for the main event the food was amazing! Most got the chicken and waffles and burgers there were no complaints. As for me I had to be different I got the flounder and baby it was the whole fish. (Check out the pictures). I couldn't eat it all so I had to take most of it home. For appetizers I recommend you get the candy bacon with the dipping sauce and the brussels sprouts.
