This was clearly a box cake mix with decorations that I could have done with no training. I almost felt bad posting this review. The icing was terrible. It was like the person who usually makes the cakes quit and they were scrambling hoping someone wouldn't notice. My mother in law was so embarrassed to bring the cake to her party. We all ate it but no one could overlook how rough this cake was.

The cake was beautiful, the exact color combo that I requested...and hand painted to boot! I ordered pink champagne for the first tier and coconut for the second. Being nearly 2500 miles away, I was very nervous about this order and contacted Oossie a lot, and she never made me feel like I was bothering her. Fast forward to the day of the event, and unfortunately her delivery driver was hit while headed to our drop-off. Causing irreparable damage to a portion of our order. The bakery called us immediately, and then went into action and in a flash worked furiously to remake as many of the cookies as possible in order to fulfill as much of our order as they could. The cookies that arrived were gorgeous, tasted delicious and although it was less than we had expected, they were amazing! This event was highlighting the release of a new door knob, and the cookies shaped as a door, with the knob on them were spot on! Then, before we even contacted them to discuss the shortages, the company had refunded me for what we didn't receive and sent us a gift certificate for a future purchase. I've always said you can tell the true character of a business and their owner by how they handle their "issues," and in this case, Sift and Crumb Coat went above and beyond in a situation that was unavoidable. Located in Burlington Food Hall, Tea-Rex NC is a milk tea/desserts shop. My girl & I went here…read moreafter ordering Filipino food from the Pork & Spoon restaurant located in the same food hall to order Halo Halo (Literally "Mix, Mix"), the signature Filipino dessert beverage with flan, ube ice cream, milk & other ingredients. The Halo Halo here cost $10+, the most expensive Halo Halo we ever purchased. For a mediocre blend, it's quite a joke to set this kind of dessert at that price. We would happily pay $10+ more if this Halo Halo was made extra special with more loaded ingredients or a taller serving, but there's nothing special in Tea-Rex's version. The Halo Halo was served to our table in front of the Pork & Spoon concession instead of us having to pick it up from the concession, so we appreciate Tea-Rex's customer service. Burlington Food Hall seemed to have a nice casual dining space to enjoy food but its layout of the shops is questionable. We had to go to the back area of the building to find Tea-Rex and the few other spots while Pork & Spoon is very visible in the front area of the hall. We haven't tried any of Tea-Rex's milk teas & other desserts but from what we've seen in its concession, the milk teas look quite generic. Pork & Spoon referred us to them when we asked if they offered Halo Halo, which I thought was a good teamwork between the two shops in Burlington Food Hall.
