We lived here 10 years ago and used to always use Burnham's for our dry cleaning. We moved back and had some clothes damaged by our movers. Not only did Burnham's do a great job cleaning them but they removed the unpleasant odors. Highly recommend! read more

it's nice to go back to grab your laundry and the doors are locked, whoever you are much appreciated! Every other Sunday at least one door is always unlocked and I have been there from 9:30 till damn near 11:00PM it is beyond ridiculous that all of a sudden this happens we were there 5-10 minutes after nine and any other time we have picked up our laundry it has been no problem my neighbor has also had the same problem with this laundromat being locked out when you go to pick it up and has complained multiple times about it, I now have to wake up earlier then I regularly do just to go grab that someone else's Laundry and basket were inside as well so I am sorry to the that person that was met with the same problem as me tonight read more

I live in Exeter, NH and have been doing my laundry at Burnham Laundrymat on Lincoln St for 8 years. Bob the owner attends the business daily. Have had several washing experiences where they had to re wash my stained clothes after washing my laundry, especially on dark clothes. Was told that you need to make sure that the dirty clothes were fully suspended in the soap water during the wash cycle. I have been doing laundry for almost 50 years, however will always listen to advice. My clothes keep getting stained using their washers and when I asked the attendant today she started to explain that it was my problem and when I commented huh, she replied can you not hear me ? I don't believe they even tried to dry clean my items. My linen dress came back more wrinkled, spots that were pointed out did not come off and my cashmere scarf was covered with some kind of chemical. I really don't believe they were touched. And those two items were expensive to purchase and then dry clean as well. read more

I have visited this business twice. Many machines are broken or leaking, floors are falling apart. Even the change machine is out Of order! The price is cheap. $2.00 for washing in top load. Dryers 25 cents 5 minutes. The problem is not all machines work, those that do may not take your money! Avoid these businesses. Go to a clean one. Newer machines that work. You pay more, but you will walk out happy with the service. read more

I am blown away by the hospitality of this business and the people who work here. The owner Mr. Burnham is a class act. He was able to do a quick cleaning of my 3 piece suit overnight for my grandfather's funeral. It was short notice as I had just arrived in town and didn't have much time. I will forever be grateful to Mr. Burnham and I hope that anyone who has dry cleaning needs comes to this business because I can't imagine that you could get better service anywhere else in the world. I hate to give a business that has been in business for so many years - such a bad review - but I must. I dry clean hundreds of vintage garments a year, sometimes even a month. I know that with that comes the risk of having that garment either not come clean or perhaps come back ruined (old fabrics dont always hold up). Burnham Cleaners has done a great deal of work for me but has never pointed out that a dress has been absolutely SHREDDED by their cleaning (which would be fine, and understandable). Not only that, most dry cleaners leave a little tag on the garment stating that the stain or spot could not be removed. Not Burnham. Either you strip the plastic off your clothing on the spot and go looking for all your stains OR wait to you get home and get thoroughly disappointed. I had a wedding dress dropped off to be PRESSED ONLY - and it came back stained!!!!!!!!! AND, with pulls on the seams where the people yanked on the dress to fit over their boards when they were pressing. I raised a stink, and had the dress redone - but the dress was still not perfect and I was out money on the dress as it was already paid for by a customer of mine. I know the owner means well - but perhaps his employees need to have the same old school mentality? I dont know. It just seems like a rush job type of place, no care or concern. Even at the front desk, when I mentioned that my clothing was vintage - no one made a note of it - no special care notes for evening gowns or special occasion dresses. Just handed me a ticket and when to pick them up. read more

Horrible experience. Wasted almost $20 here. One of the washing machines didn't spin the laundry resulting in heavily soaked clothes. Even worse, none of the dryers had heat. No employees even in the place, so ended up hauling loads of sopping wet clothes back home. Unacceptable. Not to mention the place is filthy and there are water puddles all over the floors. read more

This place is a huge disappointment!! It close to my home in Exeter but I will now be driving to Hampton or epping! Half the machines don't work! I had 2 dryers run for 1/2 hour on hot only to find my laundry tumbling around wet and cold! Save your time and money and go somewhere else!!! read more

I'm so sad this Thursday morning. I would typically give a positive review on this establishment because the employees are always so welcoming and warm when I drop off my clothing. HOWEVER, as I went to put on one of my FAVORITE Brooks Brothers shirts this morning (fresh out of the plastic from the cleaners), I realized that BDC had permanently marked the collar my initials (in a visible placement) with PEN! It won't come out. ALSO- I don't know if it is the cleaning products they use or what, but they also have stained my shirt in 3 separate places with tiny brown spots. It's a $100 shirt. I don't drink dark soda or coffee, and knew the condition it was in when I dropped it off. I didn't even see the brown spots until a colleague pointed it out. Just thought you shout know that I paid to be in a dirty shirt today. I'm so sad. I love this shirt and am sorry I will not be using your services again. My advice to anyone reading this: pay a little extra to get your nice clothes cleaned, don't bring your clothing here. read more

After hearing good things I called. The man who picked up was incredible rude. When I asked if it was the cleaners (because he didn't answer with the companies name) he yelled at me and said that they were closed. It's ok that they were closed but to be rude and yell at me, totally unacceptable! read more
