I am a fan of their brisket, but what I stop to get each week is their hotdog. Big dog and slightly smokey. Comes with a side of cole slaw or potato salad, both which are excellent. The slaw has some raisins in it which I really like. The potato salad is eggy and nice chunks of potato. I get a little extra relish for the hot dog and add it to the potato salad. Burning Boar is absolutely fantastic. I stumbled on this place by accident while running errands in St. Paul. I would have skipped the food cart outside of well known Portland food cart areas except the large crowd at the trailer was hard to ignore. My first meal was an excellent burger and fries, better than most restaurants. I later brought a colleague for lunch and she tried the Philly cheesesteak and I another burger. She raved about the cheesesteak and my burger was awesome a second time. Having experienced three meals that were all delicious, Burning Boar earned its place in our line up of lunches out during the work week, and earned our respect. We love the fact that the operation is family owned & operated, as well as what most might see as a bizarre and out of the way place for a food cart. Recently, I decided to try something other than the burger and instead we ordered the pulled pork sandwich. Hands down this is my favorite sandwich they make. I love the cranberry Bbq sauce and the meat is smoked to perfection for a well balanced and delightful taste. I don't get the Cole slaw because I don't like slaw in general. Without it though this sandwich is glorious. The other week we took a new employee to indoctrinate them into the lunch world at burning boar. He loved his bacon cheese burger and has worked at fine restaurants in the past. He looks forward to exploring their menu further on our next visit. The family that runs the Burning Boar has earned our respect with their great service, friendly small town atmosphere, and awesome food. If our office decides to eat out for lunch, our first choice is with B.B and we have no interest for dining in Newberg any longer. The quality, service, and efficiency at Burning Boar is far superior to most places in a 10 mile radius. I'd like to buy some of their cranberry bbq sauce to use on my smoked bison meatloaf at home. It would be kind of neat if they offered bison or elk burgers in the future, or yummy seasonal desserts. In any case, totally worth visiting the folks at Burning Boar and enjoying a meal. read more

It WAS 5 stars but disappeared in 2020. Replaced by an excellent Mexican food truck with great outdoor dining called Taqueria La Morena. Closed on Sunday. Huge servings and well priced. Today my burrito was perfect and friend very happy with large quesadillas. read more

We were wandering around on a brief road trip to a winery and stopped by this place mostly because I was hungry and this was the last place to stop for awhile- so glad we did, the menu looked interesting and the pulled pork sandwich was looking good but my GOD the German sausage sandwich was kind of amazing- really, really great. I ate every single bit of it using four napkins and then scarfed up the condiments in the bottom of the basket. Partner went for the simple sauerkraut mustard on the side version and loved it. I, on the other hand, went for the over the top, just pile it all on version - and I ate every single scrap of it and sort of crawled to the car for a nap. Hard to believe that this little food truck could have such good pulled pork. Not really smokey, but tender and juicy with a subtly sweet barbecue sauce. Some of the best we've eaten. And the cole slaw was fabulous. Crispy cabbage with craisins, raisins and apple chunks in a light, creamy dill dressing. Yum! We'll be back the next time we're traveling in this area. read more

Best pulled pork sandwich ever! Being that we lived in the south, never did we ever come close to anything like this sandwich in Oregon. In fact it is better then anything even in the south! Never did we think that a little trailer stand would have anything like this ,,,,the coleslaw on the sandwich was amazing...the cranberries in it was a nice touch! We had an office lunch catered by Burning Boar and it was amazing! Great food, great service, great everything. Our meeting was in a weird location and there was no problem with getting our food delivered there. Everyone I spoke to was incredibly kind and so helpful. Most importantly, the food was delicious! There was nothing but compliments during the lunch and all the guys argued over who could take home the leftovers. All in all Burning Boar was great! read more

But yeah it's here and it's great. This small food stand is family owned and operated by Troy Austin and family. This food stand is this Hungry Trucker's idea of five star dining. Troy's menu is randomly crazy, fun, and full of excitement why wouldn't you want to eat here?? I've had everything on his menu at least 20 times. Troy's price vs. portion is right on target if you want the best bang for your buck (But trust me you get the better deal). The outside style dining setup is a great idea for this food stand. If I had three wishes granted me by a genie it would be three more Burnin' Boar food stands in my area of Alaska. Just rolling thru? Then stop and feed your face with this greatness I promise your face will thank you for the next 10 years.
