had my vehicle towed to Pep Boys at this location and their manager. Theo was completely unprofessional. My car has been sitting there for three days the parts that I got were incorrect, but when I came and dropped off my new parts today early in the day, he told me that it would be taken care of 30 minutes before close. Nobody has called me or contacted me so I called the assistant manager and asked what happened and nobody in the whole place was aware that my parts were even dropped off when I dropped them off directly to the manager, and he told me that they would be taken care of if I hadn't called them to check on what was going on I wouldn't have known that he left for the day and didn't call me and didn't let the technician know that the parts were still there the assistant manager Christina was lucky enough to talk to the technician and get him to work on my car first thing tomorrow morning, very un Professional never will I ever bring my car to this place again every day that my car is in there it's costing me money and I pacifically was going to wait at their center and he told me to leave and that he would contacted me and never did!! In prepping for the winter, I needed to get 4 new tires. My dad did some research and this was the best deal he could find in the area - but 3 get 1 free. John, the manager, was accommodating, informative, and personable. The service was good, did not have any issues with the job itself, but in general was a bit slow. Also the shop itself was a bit dusty, which bothered my asthma. Overall I recommend this site, I would just suggest dropping off and coming back for your car instead of waiting like I did. read more

This company hires the most inept, incompetent, stupid people on the planet. They couldn't do a simple alignment on my pick up truck. I also wanted to balance my two front tires. They told me they couldn't do it. WTF? You can't balance my tires? You are a tire shop. That's all you do now. I'm assuming because they are: a) racist A&&hats, or b) lazy tards trying to avoid work (the place was empty and I called first), or c) incompetent, or d) all of the above. There didn't seem to be a manager expediting anything this company is bound to lose money until they go broke and the store closes. Schools should bring elementary stiudents here and tell them this is what you will be doing when you finish school when you never learn to read and write. I took my car here to get new tires since I had a flat tire. They gave me 2 new tires but put the hub caps on wrong because they weren't on when I got back home (I live 5 mins away). The second I got home I realized, and called them in hopes they would give me new ones but they just said it was my fault and there was nothing they could do. I know it wasn't my fault bc my hub caps have never fallen off and after I picked my car up, the only 2 that fell off were the ones they had just put on. I went to Pep Boys because it was a 90 degree day and the air conditioning had just went out in one of my work vehicles. My mechanic was unable to get the ac compressor within a reasonable time. I was desperately in need of help. When I first went in, I was greeted with a smile from the gentleman at the front desk. I told him what was going on with the truck and he said it was going to be a long wait. The manager Jose, overhearing the conversation walked over and said he would take my vehicle in right away. I explained that I was in dire need of that specific vehicle and he said he would do his best to track down the part and have fixed before they closed. I waited to receive a phone call saying they were unable to fix it. Lo and behold, they delivered! The air conditioning was just as cold as when I first purchased the truck. I am a former employeer of pep boys that worked for them last year. Yesterday i stopped by at 6:30 to drop off my vehicle for diagnostic and repair and leave with them overnight. The new store manager named "Richard" denied me services and denied me a lyft ride home. i told him customers get a ride home if they're getting their cars worked on paid by the company. He told me to go to the other pep boys in hamdem and all i wanted was a diagnostic and repair. refused to write me a ticket for my vehicle. I would not recommand going to that location in bridgeport I recommended my other friend 2 weeks ago to go to pep boys for a smoke test. 2 hoursl later i get a call saying he owes 350$ for smoke test.... and they wouldnt give him back his keys. price was outragous and to find out later he was charged wrong, never informed him of the price before hand. It was OK. They didn't try to add anything I didn't really needed, and the final invoice included the price I got before they started working. But timing wasn't that great. Told them much longer than promised to finish the repair. I wouldn't mind if they tell me ahead so I could go and do some errands, but they didn't. I went for a diagnostic a couple of weeks back because the check engine light was on and paid $100 (w/tax included) for them to tell me I needed a new catalytic converter. I waited two weeks for them to get back to me w/a price, when I finally called to follow up they stated they needed me to come in AGAIN to check what model (California/US) converter my car needed... So I'm guessing they wouldn't have called me if I didn't follow up w/them myself, very unprofessional... Shortly after I decided to go to Auto Zone to do a FREE diagnostic and NOTHING showed up for the converter... The code that showed up this time was for the Mass Air Flow Sensor... Schedule a 2nd app. w/ Pep Boys, which they did not keep. Finally saw me almost 1.5hrs later! Not to mention I was there w/my 5 year old daughter... Why schedule an appointment if you can't keep it?!! They gave me the side eye for going to Auto Zone, did the diagnostic again and this time nothing showed up for the converter... The code that came up was for the Mass Air Flow Sensor like Auto Zone said... With that being said, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SAVE YOUR TIME!!! read more

AWFUL SERVICE!!!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COST! I am a busy full-time student and worker who had purchased two new tires to be replaced in the front my 2007 Jeep Liberty since my old tires had been worn out. I asked all the questions that I felt were relevant to job being done such as the estimated time of the service as well as the rate for the job being done. As I am waiting, one of the service writers asks if I would like to switch my old back tires to the front and replace the new tires in the back, which I declined because the back tires did NOT needed to be touched. I was completely ignored and my tires got switched anyway. I was later informed that it was the stores policy to put old tires in the front while putting the new tires in the back. Had I been informed of this early, I would not have agreed to have the service done. I've been scammed. I've been taken advantage of as a woman. I've been inconvenienced. I would not recommend for any person with sense to have service provided for them by Pep Boys. read more

I am disgusted with management and the corporation at this point. They lie to obtain sales at this location. After you purchase they will let you know they were unable to service your car and only refund you partial of your payment. When you address your concerns, management will make up stories to by time and never follow-up with a solution. The district manager is aware and will tell the general manager to by more time. I spent $1600 in April and currently still waiting for partial of my refund 6months later. Do not bring your business here. So I never review auto places, but this place really does deserve a thumbs up. Last year, on our annual trip to Maine, my dad's van broke down and it was a hot mess. We had to get a tow to pep boys, the only place open on memorial day weekend. The general manager was so helpful and accommodating. He knew we had somewhere to get to, so he let us leave the van until our trip was over (we hitched a ride with friends). We picked up the car after the weekend trip was over. He understood our - my - frustration. We ended up leaving with NO fees as they weren't able to do major work. The mechanics performed a temporary solution and warned us that we may not make it back safely to NJ... And it was on my dad, just in case, if he were to take the car and drive it. We rented another van - just in case - my boyfriend drove it and spotted my dad's injured van. Fortunately, we made it back in one piece. I really tip my hat to this pep boys. The manager handled everything professionally, esp my irate self. We don't Don't expect to run into them again on any trips, buy they were really top notch. read more

Told me no that I would have to wait. For the time he spent explaining why it would take so long he could have filled my tire. On Saturday 12/2/17 - 12:30 pm. My car started leaking power steering fluid. I took it to my mechanic just down the street and he suggested it would be faster for me to get the replacement part. I walked into Pep Boys and noticed just one person was ahead of me. The only rep at the service counter finished with that customer and he not once acknowledged my presence. I saw that he continue to give instructions to one of his coworkers regarding deliveries and pickups. Suddenly, another customer walked up to the counter ahead of me to pick his order. But he decided to go to the restroom first. His other co-worker commented that he was his cousin and to take care of him upon his return. Okay, I'm understanding and was patience. Still the rep totally ignored me and walked away. I waited for over 20 minutes. I just shook my head in disbelief. I spoke to an older worker that was picking up a battery and other items. I asked if he was the only person available. He said yes at the time since the others were cashing at the front registers. He was kind enough to get another rep to help. The new rep proceeded to register me on to your rewards program, but that computer was not scanning the card so we had to go to the front registers. Now, twice I asked the rep when will I get the part? He said at 4:30 pm that afternoon and that they would call me. I went and told my mechanic what to expect. At 4 pm, my mechanic called and was told that the part was not coming until the next morning and I was told about it. That's a total lie! I wasn't told I had to wait the next day. Why wasn't I called? I could had went to Advance Auto who had the part. I never submit a complaint before, but Pep Boys' ignorance and unprofessional customer service pushed my limits. If you are a woman especially please avoid- both times I have gone it is been creepy. I went to the store for an oil change which I scheduled on-line. The oil change was to include a free tire rotation. I asked the service person to fill my tires with air because they were low. I waited an hour for the oil change which was fine however when my car was finished and it was time to pay I asked if the tires have been filled and I was told yes they have been. Once I started driving my car I checked the tire pressure reading on my car (my car is equipped with tire pressure reading) and it was exactly what it was when I entered the store. I will assume the tire rotation took place but in all honesty now I am questioning in my mind if they did complete the transaction. I do not appreciate being lied to, if the attendant was not sure he should have said let me double check I can accept that but by saying yes he is confirming an operation that did not occur. I recently had an engine installed in my vehicle from this store location and I have found that there are more issues with my vehicle now then when I took it in there. The horn doesn't work anymore because we "forgot" to plug it back in? Wouldn't you check to make sure all the electrical is ok before returning it to the customer.?. there is a noise almost like a tea pot kettle whistling as the car is turned off. I was told that it may make noises because the "engine" hasn't been started in a while. I bring it in there to get rid of the noise and then I come out with a different one. I purchased an engine from some parts place that the manager knew. I am then told that the reason why its making noise because I "rushed them to fix it" I am sorry but the customer shouldn't be talked to like that. I refuse to bring the vehicle back there to have them sabotage it anymore. The took off the bumper to replace the engine and when they put it back on there were things missing from the wheel well cover to hold it in place. I would recommend people to stay clear of this place. And of course the mechanic that fixed the car is "away" on personal business so no one can look at it until next week. How convenient for me. I am about to dispute the charge and have pep boys bite the 1400 they charged me. on top of all this I was told over the manager's personal phone that," oh yeah we forgot to tell you this and that about the vehicle. I have recorded the conversations and the texts I made with the shop manager. I refuse to believe that there should be sounds coming from the engine. I am told that he forgot to tell me and put the work into the paperwork? I am reporting the place to the better business bureau. Full investigation will be filed and placed. To my pleasure, and having had the issues diagnosed previously, Andrew, Henry, and Jordan were courteous, informative, honest and up front about what my car needed. Andrew even brought a coupon to my attention that saved me almost half the regular cost of the repair. There was no hard sell nor suggestion of anything else needed except what was originally diagnosed. I was told that the work would take two hours and I waited two hours. Jordan showed me one of the needed repairs and why my engine light was on. We did forget to order the part for that but when I called the store to see if it came in, Tyrell addressed my questions friendly and professionally.
