I've come to love the Burrito Bandito! When my BF is working in Redding, we always stop here because we can get a fulfilling keto meal quick, fresh, and affordable (that's not a typical lettuce wrapped hamburger). They offer burrito bowls and use cabbage instead of lettuce. I have tried the pulled beef, the steak, and the chicken. We order without the rice and beans but add avocado! Sour cream, cheese, pico, diced jalapenos, and sooo many hot sauces to choose from! All of their fresh sauces are okay (try away!) BUT I prefer the array of opened hot sauce bottles they have for you to try (and buy!) I love the Burrito mascot- he was painted by a local Redding artist who also did the flame design on my BF's old Kia- cool! Lovely local spot, hiring the young people of the area, and fresh food. Exceptionally exceptional food! Not at all what I was expecting. At all. First of all, let me say that I did take out I had it delivered to my hotel as I was driving through. So I can't give you an experience for dine in. However, what was delivered to my hotel room was far more than I expected to get. I did have it DoorDash'd to me and I do have to say that I was a little upset with the price but you have to know what you were getting with that order. My mom ordered a chicken burrito. That burrito could feed three people and I mean it. I ordered the burrito bowl. Get to pick your meat beans rice all your little add-ons. Also, I ordered chips and dip. No!! don't order extra salsa! And you only need one order of chips for two people because you are literally getting , a 2 pound bag of homemade tortilla chips. I was shocked. And if you want to order the extra salsa, believe me, it's enough. No the salsa is not my favorite type. It is the blended and I really do prefer chunky but it was still a good flavor and shocking. I was really not expecting much from a hole in the wall of a drive through town, and to be perfectly honest my burrito bowl came with a whole, avocado, sour cream cheese everything you could one, and the flavor was absolutely outstanding. I can literally not gush about this place enough. This bowl could feed 2! We ran into this place crossing the country. The staff was very friendly. The setup is like a chipotle,, pick what you want and they make it in front of you. We are vegan so really no vegan options except veggie with no sour cream, cheese,, etc. maybe make some protein option for vegans. read more

I love this place. Use to stop in all the time when I lived up in Redding. In Sacramento, it is a lot hard to get my burrito fill since I believe the closest one is in Chico. When I can, I stop in for a delicious burrito. I ordered the steak burrito with everything, the portion sizes are huge, and I can usually make two meals out of it for me. I have received my pork burritos too wet twice now, and something is always missing like sauce. The people are really nice, but I only Iive 6 blocks away and it was refrigerator cold. I don't know what I am getting until I am in the house and ready to eat, so I never go back to correct it. So that is what I am doing now... Not going back. Burrito Bandito is a small chain of about 4 locations with pretty consistent food offerings. Real authentic Mexican, this is not, but not really trying to be. More like a Chipotle, stand in line and order as you watch the food assembler put together your burrito and then pay and get drinks at the end of the line. The burritos you get for about $9.00 are huge! No way I could slide the end of that monster into my mouth .... and I can open pretty wide! I got a steak burrito and had half wrapped for take out, as I ate the one half at the restaurant. The flavors are nice middle of the road pleasing, but are missing that real "Mexican" flavor you get at little taco shops where no one really speaks English. I don't think anyone actually speaks Spanish here. The burrito fillings while generous, are really not that hot temp wise. Just barely warm, you won't ever burn yourself on the food here. Still a good deal for the food you get and the only time I stop here or the other location in Red Bluff is when I'm passing thru on the 5 northbound or southbound and need a quick food fill up. We use to eat there weekly,The food and service was awesome. I have always taken my out of town guest there. We haven't eaten there for awhile.We went in today.What a disappointment!This was to go! My husband got a chicken quesadilla and the guy put it in this little box that a taco would fit it,needless to say it was pretty smashed up. I got the Burrito bowl, shredded beef , The kid put the beef in and then took it out if the box. It really wasn't worth the 10.25 I paid for it and the food was not as good. Behind the counter where the food was being served was not as clean as it use to be. The girl that put the salsa to go, got the wrong kind.
