Believe the hype. Hermano's is worth writing home about. To your brother! I did. Well kinda. Right after stopping here for lunch I texted my brother in law to let him know that my wife and I had found an incredible spot. He's my hermano, so I had to let him know that we had just had two Hermano's burritos. Something like a super version of a special burrito with rice, beans, jack, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo to go with your selected meat. We went with carnitas and it was amazing. So delicious. It's rare that I'll give 5 starts on a first visit, but the Hermanos left me with no choice. What else can I tell you. Great Mexican food on Market Street in Redding. Not too far from I-5 and worth the drive. Open everyday except Monday. It's an unassuming restaurant where you can assume the food will live up to the hype. Counter seating inside. Dog-friendly seating patio outside. The young cashier was really nice and when I told him I thought the mild red sauce was excellent he shared that it was his favorite. I also met one of the owners and there's something special about the people who run a small restaurant with incredible pride because they put so much love into the food. And the customers walk away with that love win their belly. OK, we drove away. But you get it. I don't know when I'll be back, but I hope to try the birria next time. read more

This was absolutely DELICIOUS! Wow, I ordered a shrimp fajitas burrito. This had all the fixings. This was the fajitas style. The shrimp was super flavorful and the fixings were also well balanced. It was MASSIVE and so so tasty and juicy. I could tell they take a lot of care in marinating the food and having good quality rice/beans. The chips and salsa were also a nice addition and the salsa is so tasty that it's almost drinkable. Wow! I would definitely try their other dishes. read more

Wanted to try this place out after seeing the yelp reviews. The food is good, I had birria tacos although they don't come with au jus. The roast falls apart but isn't spicy. Ordered the Hermano's burrito with carne asada and it was so delicious. Carne asada was seasoned perfectly, the ingredients were super fresh, and the burrito was huge! They were also pulling fresh chips out of the fryer when we walked in the door. Love coming here for lunch or dinner. Hermano's is, hands down, the best Mexican spot in Redding. read more

SO GOOD. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with kindness. We were offered a sample of birria. It was delicious. I ordered a burrito with al pastor, rice, beans, and pico. I paid a little more than if I would've gotten one of the other burritos and removed stuff than how I did ordering a basic burrito and adding, but I don't mind. The gentleman at the counter asked how I found them. I'm from out of town so I looked on Yelp. Mexican sounded good and they had amazing reviews. It's not super flashy from the outside but there is a sign that says hermanos. Inside is cute and quaint. There is a counter to order, a fridge with jarritos, and iron chef playing on the television. I like it. If you want to sit, there is an outdoor patio. Okay now the food. AMAZING. The Al pastor is juicy and full of flavor. Perfect salt levels. The beans and rice are good. Pico is fresh. Tortilla was nice and stretchy. The burrito was fantastic. Didn't fall apart. However I wish it had one extra field of foil. It's hard to rewrap the leftovers in the one piece of folk. Stopped by Hermanos today. Yes, they are open. I guess they were closed for a few weeks but they are in fact, open. Whenever I'm visiting Redding, I always like to try new places, especially searching for solid Mexican food (which isn't an easy task in such a small town). People who know me, know that I love beans - refried especially. My grandmother and father made amazing refried beans. Living in Los Angeles, there's a diverse number of places that really deliver the flavor. I digress. So, I stop at Hermanos today and ordered a bean and cheese burrito and a chorizo soft taco. The guys working there were friendly and after explaining to them that I'm visiting from Southern California and my affinity for beans (I'm a nerd, what can I say lol), they gave me a taste of their shredded beef birria. It was amazing. Melted in my mouth. So, A+ there. To the headliners... Bean and cheese burrito. The tortilla was homemade tasting/feeling (didn't appear to be store bought like some of the other places I've tried here). On a scale of 1-10, I give the beans a 7. They were better than average and better than good. Chorizo soft taco. Pretty simple taco. Soft flour tortilla, lettuce, pico de gallo, shredded cheese, and chorizo. The chorizo was cooked perfectly (That isn't a passing comment either. Chorizo can be easily under or overcooked). Great flavor. Tasted fresh. They gave me green and red salsa. Both were really tasty and enjoyable. I think I have found my new favorite Mexican spot in Redding. The true test will be their chili relleno and pozole. I will definitely be back. read more

We have had so many great experiences at Hermano's! The family that owns the restaurant is so friendly and have done a great job renovating the patio to make it so comfortable when dining in. Well we got there just before closing but we were warmly welcomed. My grandson loves Carnitas and he thought that it was great along with his beans and rice. I was torn between a Chili Relleno or some Carne Asada.. Turned the menu to last page and BAM there was the Carne y Rellano Burrito and made my choice of Asada and I was set. Food was great and a nice touch for adding the chips in to the bag, I had heard about this place from a friend and also on Yelp. It's right next to The Tropics bar. Great service and excellent food . Well, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: Hermano's. The owners are wonderful (a father and son - family to the previous owner). The food is next l-level delicious. Redding is blessed with great Mexican food, and Hermano's elevates this even further. The outdoor patio is quaint and a perfect setting for enjoying your food which was clearly prepared with pride and skill. We've tried about everything on the menu, and I have NEVER left unhappy. The food is wonderful. The stand outs for breakfast are the chilaquiles and the chorizo breakfast burrito. The portions are more than fair too, so be prepared to share. In town yo attend a Bethel Church Conference, and looking to support local restaurants. We stumbled upon this new establishment with a 5 star rating. Service was absolutely amazing, and the food was outstanding. This is the kind of restaurant and family you route for, and rejoice that you found them in the beginning of their journey. We sat outside and loved the ambiance created by the many different items the owners were growing. We look forward to a return visit to this location on our next trip to Bethel Church in Redding. read more

We ate here with a party of 7 & the food was amazing! Everything had an authentic taste to it, it was the most tasteful Mexican food we've had from a restaurant in a long time. The great service was also a plus, the staff were very friendly and attentive. They have a nice outdoor patio seating area as well. They were FANTASTIC. If you think something as simple as a cheese enchilada can't be gourmet and elevated, I suggest trying anything from Rick Bayless (Chicago or LA) and El Cholo (LA) with their aged cheddar. All that to say, Casa Rios didn't disappoint. My friend got the chili relleno with cream sauce, one word, FANTASTIC. I like that it had a bit of char to it and that it wasn't super eggy. It had a nice crisp to it. For desert (it being my bday week and all lol) was their coconut tres leches cake with strawberries. Another smash out of the park. I will definitely be back. Eager to try their fajitas, birria tacos and flan. Great job. If I'm in town on Tuesday (8/11) I'll have my bday dinner here.

I've been to this restaurant several times now, and it's always an interesting experience. The location is a bit unique, with very limited seating inside and a small patio outside--it's not the place to go if you're looking for a spacious dining room. That said, I keep coming back for one reason: the food. The food here is phenomenal--consistently high quality, flavorful, and served with good service every time I visit. It's one of those places that has never disappointed me, which is why I'll continue to return. Just a heads-up: if you plan on dining in, seating can be tight, so you may want to plan ahead. But if your priority is the food (like mine is), it's absolutely worth it. Highly recommend! read more

Hermanos is officially my favorite Mexican food spot in Redding. The salsa is incredible--fresh, flavorful, and honestly some of the best I've had anywhere. The chili relleno carne asada hybrid burrito is next-level and absolutely worth trying. On top of that, the customer service is outstanding. Christian is a true gentleman--friendly, attentive, and professional. If he's not already the manager or owner, he definitely deserves a raise. Great guy and a big part of what makes this place stand out. Highly recommend Hermanos if you're looking for amazing food and top-tier service. read more

We went to this restaurant and ored a.pollo ala creama which i heard someone it was good but I didn't really like it I did have any flavor as supposed to have a Mexican plate. The service was ok and price were kind of expensive i would not recommend this restaurant if you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant this is like a pre cooked food and also I try the chilla kilis, and they were not as good as though i will recommend you to go somewhere else like el zarape Mexican food if you are looking or authentic Mexican food read more

Five stars for Hermano's! This new spot just opened up, and let me tell you, it's a real gem. The vibe feels super authentic, and the food is fantastic. I had a burrito and it was delicious. Was in Redding and went here to eat after reading some of the reviews only to find out that it was closed when it was supposed to be open, after talking to some locals found out that this place has never been open. read more

My younger daughter used to dislike Mexican food in this town so much she'd order chicken nuggets or a burger and fries when we got Mexican. Now she enthusiastically requests a Carne Asada super burrito from El Taco Asado. My other daughter gets a bean rice and cheese burrito which even for a simple item, are made with perfect tecchnique and are delicious. While all the meats are the best in town, the Al Pastor is on another level and the best I've had anywhere. I used to stay away from Al Pastor because few places do them the real way on a trompo. Taco Asado does and they're melt in your mouth delicious. If their meat weren't already putting them on a level above the rest in town, the salsas would. They can vary in heat level and flavor with each visit but they're always awesome. I tget one of each and whatever is hitting the best that night is what I'm drenching my tacos with. And if you like pico de gallo, they do that great too. My go-tos are the super burrito and street tacos. The grilled tacos, especially the shrimp, are nice to mix it up a little sometimes but it's hard to pry me away from those perfect Al Pastor street tacos. Here's the kicker: Their burritos and tacos are some of the best priced in town. Let's keep them busy and keep it that way.

One thing I noticed is that their burritos are rolled long rather than thick and bulky like some other places. The spicy sauce that came with it was delicious and added a lot of flavor. I do wish they also offered fresh jalapeños as an option. For me, the burrito was about a 3 out of 5. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't quite a standout favorite either. That said, everyone has different tastes, and I'm interested in trying more items from their menu before making a final judgment. Overall, I appreciated the convenience of ordering by phone, and the food was prepared as expected. I'll likely come back and give some of their other menu items a try.
