Mister Taco never disappoints! They're on Lake Blvd in Redding now after being in Anderson for years and years. This is the 5 rolled tacos, so delicious, very filling and their grease never tastes old like some places I've eaten. Only negative is they don't have cilantro free salsa, but I'll suffer through that to eat here every time. read more

Mr. taco is a tiny little place on a tiny little corner far away from everything. That being said, it was the best eight dollars. I spent on food in it very long time. I had Carnitas tacos. I was going to order three but for some reason settled on to, that was a good decision. It did somehow managed to get both tacos in, but I drove away stuffed. The salsa was great. The meat was cooked perfect crunchy but still tender. My tacos came out full and big and hand-delivered by the proprietor. I saw someone order fish tacos and watched his they ate. Look like they were having exactly the same experience. I don't know why all these years with all the times I've driven past, I had never stopped in. Mr. Taco, very well done. read more

We have tried to order food from them several times and their hours are listed as closing at 8:00 p.m. however, when we get there, there is no one there. We also called to confirm that they would be open till 8:00 p.m. and they said yes, they would be. Again, we called, no answer, and when we showed up, it was closed. There are very limited vegetarian options, which is almost impressive because I usually never have trouble finding vegetarian options at Mexican restaurants. I'm not sure if it's because of covid-19, but almost everything is served in styrofoam containers, which is awful. Ditch the styrofoam please. The food also wasn't very impressive. I've driven by Mister Taco for over 20 years and never once stopped. That all changed this weekend and I'm here to share my experience. My stomach can no longer handle fast food like it once did, and further I'm sick of big corporations and would like to support local businesses whenever I can. I was a bit apprehensive as I pulled into the parking lot as it's always a roll of the dice with small restaurants like this. I walked up to the to-go window and was immediately greeted by the attendant who helped me decide what to get and took my order muy rapido! The food was prepared rather quickly and was quite delicious. The burrito was enormous and the only regret I have with my Mr. Taco experience is consuming the whole thing in one sitting! read more

I usually take the Jellys Ferry exit off 5 when traveling north on my motorcycle. I have been by Mister Taco but never at mealtime. On my way to Oregon Thursday on my bike I stopped in and boy were the chicken tacos good; so good, I took my wife there Friday on our way home. Best Chile Verde Burrito I ever had, nice and vinegary, full of pork chunks. Wife had a chicken quesadilla which was also over the top. Rice and beans good too. "Mrs. Taco" is delightful, and I made a point to express my approval on our way out. I highly recommend this place. Next time either fish or shrimp. read more

I always went here as a kid and remember the food being amazing. I recently moved back to town and wanted that amazing taste of chicken burrito...but the burrito was watery. And what I mean is that when I opened up this burrito so much juice or liquid came out and was disturbing. But I looked past that and decided to just try it maybe it's good. Went to this place after a swim and the service was highly displeasing--rude--even before stepping near the building. Overall, I've had better experience in a McDonalds parking lot after midnight! The food was decent, the price ok for the amount of food given. But the SERVICE left a bad taste in our mouth. This could and should have been a better experience. A friend of mine and I went here for dinner last night. We went solely because of the yelp rating and our love of tacos. The place was kinda in the middle of nowhere but looked very authentic. They had bright colors and signs on the walls everywhere. I ordered the fish tacos and my friend ordered a taco salad. The air conditioning was almost non-existent. Maybe they use a swamp cooler but it was cooler outside than inside. They didn't have a lot of seating inside but they did have picnic tables out back. We sat outside. There were flies everywhere! Inside and outside. It made it very difficult to eat while being extremely annoyed. If they simply put a lid on the trash can and put a couple sticky traps up outside and inside, it would have made a huge difference. The food was okay. Nothing special. I was expecting more with a rating of 4.5. I'm sure a lot of locals stop in their way to work or home and get take out. The food was good quality but not much flavor. I added hot sauce to my fish tacos and they were still okay. The fish was really crispy, which a really liked. My friend said the same about her taco salad. It was good food but not worth driving to Anderson. She loved the shell the taco salad came in but those are normally good anywhere. The building and the bathroom were old and yuck. The paper towel holder in the restroom was full yet refused to come out...so I had wet hands after using the restroom. That was a little frustrating too. If I was hungry and in the neighborhood already I might try nachos or a burrito or something that may have more flavor. I was hoping for more. On a positive note, the lady that took our order was very nice, kind, knowledgeable and tolerating the heat in the kitchen better than I would. It was SO HOT in there!!! The back patio was fenced in with lots of tables so if it weren't for the flies, that was a nice touch. It was authentic food for the most part. I don't understand why an authentic restaurant would serve fish tacos with lettuce instead of cabbage, I like cabbage much better. It is crunchier and gets less soggy. I must be the exception because they do a LOT of business. There were people coming and going the whole time we were there. It's directly across the street from a bar that looked a little sketchy. Being in anderson I've given mister taco a few tries. Today being my last I ordered horchata, ah so bad.. Tasted like they made it with 400 year old dust. Even had a powdery aftertaste. Next came the 2 chicken enchiladas, holy moly they were horrible. Absolutely bland in every aspect.. From color to taste. Chicken was full of tendons, ligaments and fat Cheese fries were more like cheese fry soup. The Nacho cheese sauce being so thin eventually made every last fry a soggy sponge of processed ew.
