Chimichanga and Bowl were both good and they used fresh ingredients prepared to order. The pork had just a bit too much salt (still good pork though). The salsa was fresh but the tomatoes didn't have much taste which is not a reflection of establishment usually but the farm source. Tea was not fresh brewed. Service: 4 stars- Greeted by cashier. Stopped in for lunch. Food was pretty damn good. Service was ok. The cleanliness of the establishment is concerning. Floors and tables were nasty, I wiped down my own table. When I went to refill my drink at the self service station I noticed mold/mildew built up on the ice dispenser down spout. I said something to one of the very young adults working there and they looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. If that's dirty and they showed no concern for it I'd hate to see what the kitchen area looks like where they are preparing food, someone will end up sick if not corrected. Okay, so after a day of picking strawberries, we were pretty hungry. My diet and budget has allowed little wiggle room for eating out but we were an hour from home so I tried to find a vegan friendly place. I came across this! I drove past it not realizing it would be in a gas station. Which almost made me choose somewhere else. With that said, I am so glad I found this place and my husband talked me into trying it, can't judge a book by its cover after all. I ordered a veggie burrito and asked if they could take off the sour cream to make more of a vegan burrito. To my surprise they had vegan cheese and sour cream. I was so happy! What a great treat! My son got the veggie tacos and ate just about every bit of the two large tacos. I was impressed. Found my new local burrito joint. Located in the Great Bridge area, my friend who is A Chesapeake native took us out here to try it out for the first time. The location may surprise you since it's connected to a gas station but don't be fooled by what you see on the outside. The inside is quite roomy and clean. We ordered and it literally took them 5 minutes for the food to come out. The pulled pork Chimichanga and Steak Nachos did not disappoint. I was impressed by the how fresh and tasty the food was. My family and I have gone to this place twice now, and both times were exactly the same. We so badly wanted to support a local business and want them to succeed. So we gave them two chances thinking maybe that first visit was a fluke. Unfortunately that is not the case. The food may be "fresh", but it is highly lacking in flavor. The salsa we ordered was literally just fresh diced tomatoes, a couple onion chunks, and maybe a sprinkle of salt. That is NOT a good salsa. We couldn't even eat it because it tasted exactly like what it was: plain diced fresh tomatoes on chips. All of the meat on our burritos were severely under seasoned. Fresh does not have to and should not equal flavorless and sparse seasoning. The food could be boosted so easily with more salt, pepper, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, etc; All the staples in Mexican food. I honestly think this is one of Cedar Road's best kept secrets. A friend of mine kidnapped me and said we were going to a place that serves a fetus size burritos that I had never heard of and I was like "OK so is Moe's or chipotle " And we pull up to a freaking gas station and I was like "whoa what, i'm not eating gas station food that's disgusting" Turns out it's a whole restaurant that's attached to a gas station and the only thing that they share with the building is a bathroom. Here's my updated review, about a year later: If you don't want too dry of a burrito make sure you add sour cream (or guac but sour cream is best). I hate to say this but I was underwhelmed by the food. I was hoping for something fantastically flavorful but received a mediocre concoction of pork and chicken. Like all the other reviews mention, this is located literally next to the gas station. This small restaurant is very nondescript. The redeeming qualities of this place is the organic produce. I'd heard so many great things about this place--I was told not to be put off by the fact that it's attached to a gas station. So many people have said such unanimously good things about it that I just had to check it out! I came here one night with my fiancé and my sister for dinner. We were expecting good things from this place, and they definitely more than met our expectations! We started with some chips, salsa, and guacamole. From there, we were already absolutely hooked! Their guacamole was just so creamy and delicious. I could not stop eating it! Their salsa was some of the best salsa I've had. Even my fiancé, who prefers his salsa to be blended and doesn't usually like the chucks salsa, said it was really good! My fiancé and I shared a half & half chimichanga with chicken and steak, which we realized was a good idea because of the size of it. We just ordered a regular and felt stuffed by it. I added their hot sauce (spicy, spicy!) and it was so good! The salad was big, with lots of the stuff that keeps you full, pork and black beans. Is this a dive burrito place like I was led to believe, or a nice set down Mexican restaurant. Drum roll please... it's both in my opinion. Located in the Las Gaviotas Shopping Center, well kinda. This is the sign to look for, or Shell gas. The business is directly located off of Cedar Rd. across from Goodyear Tire. Burrito Perdido shares the same building as the Cedar Mart Shell gas station. The red awning is a dead give away you have arrived. The exterior is a white stucco with tile roof around the top for some Mexican ambiance. So already you might be thinking a dive right? Well hang in there and you be the judge. The restaurant shares parking with the the fuel center, so not that much. However, plentiful enough for me on a weekday on the side of the building. There was some debris on the business side in the grass, walk in front was clear. The gas station was in good shape except for pavement which was very chucked up. So what to expect when you walk in. Well let me put it this way, "Toto were not in Kansas anymore". You would have no idea this is the same building as the Shell. It is completely walled off with a pass through door to the mart. Charcoal gray tile floors, .pleasing deep gold and red walls, wood tables, chairs and booths. The dining room is a square with the kitchen and ordering area to your left. As you take in the place you will see a lot of pictures on the wall. If you can figure out the owners theme let me know because it's quite eclectic to say the least. Sports, movies and random people that I did not recognize. I liked it and bought into a melting of themes. A massive big screen TV sets on the wall. I walked to the counter and talked to a man who I later found out was the owner. I told him this was my first time. He warmly welcomed me and was friendly the entire time. The menu with an assortment of Mexican favorites which made it easy for a choice. Not only burritos, but taco's, chimichangas, quesadilla's, nacho's and more. For the vegetarian and vegan folks they have you covered. I saw three workers in back and the kitchen appeared spotless. I asked him for a burrito recommendation as I was leaning toward the pork. He thought that was a great initial option. You can add guacamole and sour cream and make the burrito mild, or hot. I was asked if I was dining in to which I replied yes. Total with drink was over $12. Fountain soda is self serve and they also have an assortment of bottled beverages such as water, coke (real glass) and beer. I was not given a number, not asked my name, but had a seat. I found a place by the window to do some people watching around 12:30 PM and listened to some traditional music. They had customers from all walks of life. Construction workers, public servants (Chesapeake FF were well represented) to a couple that pulled up in a BMW convertible wearing designer clothing. I guess that I went in very casual today and a little scruffy to fit in, ha! The short time that I waited for my food a young man was tirelessly sweeping, clearing and wiping tables with a smile on his face. Many regulars came in and spoke to him. Within five minutes I had a gigantic burrito wrapped in foil in a basket with chips delivered to me. I wish that I had a scale, because seriously it seemed like a few pounds. I started with the chips which were light and tasty dipped in a more dry and chunky salsa that was yum! The burrito was nothing I wanted to tackle with my hands and got up to get some utencil's. I noticed others dining in had plates which would have been beneficial as I was cutting through the foil making a mess. It tasted fresh and was scrumptious, but wow I'm glad that I had a light breakfast. The young man toward the end of my meal got me a plate and said they can go either way, plate vs. non plate when dining in. A best practice here is to ask the customer what they want, the meal would have been more enjoyable on a plate when dining in. The owner came over to me at the end and I told him I enjoyed it and mentioned having a plate would have been preferred. Before departing I headed for the facilities which was on the Shell side. A pass through door is well marked to enter mart and restroom. What I found was a totally disgusting restroom that was typical gas station. It smelled, was dirty and had a violent bowl movement that was not flushed. This knocked a star off immediately. I am confident if the owner of Burrito Perdido controlled the restrooms they would be emaculate. So there needs to be some work done on this partnership. I cannot view the restaurant side and gas side separately in this situation. The health department mandates facilities for customers, so the review in my opinion must be commingled. Final verdict on Buritto Perdido. Would I come back... yes, but skip the restroom. Is it a dive... you decide. read more

Let me just start off by saying that I bookmarked this place here on yelp for a visit long before I ever walked through the doors. I wanted to go and try the local, organic Mexican food but I just didn't want to make the trek from VB. My husband and I were in Suffolk and a colleague of his mentioned it, so being the connoisseurs of Mexican food that we are (even our three year old orders her own food!) we decided to stop in on our way home. It was a little out of the way, but soooooo worth it! At home we eat everything freshly prepared: food made from whole ingredients, not packages. We have been eating out less and less because the food just doesn't taste as good as what we can make at home. This place might just change that! Everything looked and tasted like it was just prepared, and was indeed delicious. I was impressed by the reviews I read but didn't really know what to think by the location. This place is just proof that you can't judge a book by its cover. The walls have signage letting you know the origin of the food, and anything that isn't listed on the walls is on the paper menu. The service was stellar, the staff are friendly and happy. That alone make all the difference. The restaurant was very clean and had good ambiance. Anyone who has read my other reviews can likely attest that I tend to be harsh and critical... I take my food very seriously, because hey... It is what keeps us alive [or in many cases, kills us]! I feel completely okay with eating here regularly and feeding the food to my family as well. Being the food nazi that I am, I tend to get guilt over allowing my kid to eat junk. Here it is a win-win... Healthy AND delicious.
