Cheese birria 3 Tacos Bundle (Traditional) Carne asada torta

Small venue. Good service. The food was good. Bullet hole in the glass storefront needs to be repaired. Thumbs up!

Horchata. Delicious.

We stopped for a quick bit to eat yesterday before we ran our errands. Krazy trompos is always a good choice. I was in a nacho mood but I didn't want the fries in there so I just ordered the chori dip with chips. It came out in this cute little molcajete! It was a large potion and the lady said if I needed more chips, to just let her know. It was delicious. Hubby got a steak torta and a steak queso taco. Their tortas are always so good. Their bread is just so thin and crisp and perfect. Oh I got a horchata too. The largest size I could get..which was a large and it was a lot. My horchata loving self was happy. I love this place.

This is the Chips and Queso Appetizer. January 14, 2025.

Krazy Trompos is located along S Rosemont Rd. directly next to the Wawa. It is roughly one mile south of the I-264 interchange. You can access it from either side of the road by turning at the traffic light next to Wawa and go through Wawa to get there. Otherwise, you can turn in from the southbound direction of Rosemont Rd. My visit here was on January 14, 2025 around 3:45 pm. I am always up for trying places I haven't been to before. What brought me in was a coupon that was on the back of a Kroger receipt. I had seen some really good reviews overall, so that's what put me over the top to try the place. At the time of day my mom and I came in, it wasn't that busy. There were vibrant colors and such inside. It would take a few minutes to check out what we wanted. In the end, I went with having three Queso Tacos, one with Pork, one with Brisket, and one with Chicken. I chose that way in order to keep carb intake to a minimum. I added a side of beans as well. My mom decided to just go with the chips and queso appetizer. They were very friendly up there at the counter. About ten minutes later, the food came out to the table. Everything looked good, but in this case, looks can be deceiving. The chips were just falling apart and the queso was not thick at all. The queso was also lukewarm at best. The queso tacos I had looked good too, but they were also lukewarm at best. The taste of them were okay, but nothing that would give me a wow factor. The beans were good too. In general, the food reminded me of stuff you can buy at your local grocery store. Overall, there wasn't anything that would get me to come back very quickly. I was really looking forward to a great meal based on other reviews I have seen. Maybe this was an off day, but things should always be on it. I wonder if others have had issues in the past, as after we had eaten and I got home, I noticed that they have a message at the bottom of the receipt saying that even if there is an issue, they won't do any refunds or such too. During the time we were eating, there was no staff out in the main area. Looking at the cost, compared to other places, it was higher comparatively to the amount and quality of food. They were all in the back. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be in a rush to come back. There are many other places that I have had better experiences with.

Great food. Everyone has heard of Taco Tuesday and we decided to put that to the test in Virginia. We were on our way to Trader Joe's (you caught that review right) before stopping here to grab something small. I decided to get the four street taco special. I wanted to get four different meats but if you do the special you only get two proteins. I chose the carne asada and cow tongue. All I can say is "packed with flavor". Cilantro, onions, delicious marinated meats, and you add the house spicy (habanero) or mild (guacamole) takes your tastes bud to another level. I really loved everyone of the tacos and wish I discovered it earlier. Overall five stars. The food came quick and package nicely so nothing falls into disarray. The place has limited indoor seating and is well maintained and clean. Definite a stop any day of the week. M

If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant in Virginia Beach, you need to check out Krazy Trompos at 217 S Rosemont Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23452! They're using fresh, local ingredients to bring you amazing street-style Mexican food, and let me tell you, it's worth the visit. I started with their housemade guacamole and chips, and wow--so fresh with just the right kick of heat. The chips were crispy perfection! Then I had the queso birria tacos with consommé and rice on the side. The tacos were wrapped in handmade shells, which made them even better. Of course, I had to add some guac and their housemade hot sauce--chef's kiss! If you're craving some delicious Mexican food in Virginia Beach, swing by krazy trompos . You won't regret it!

We were craving a good burrito and had not tried this place yet. We walked in to a cute little restaurant and were greeted warmly by the staff. We ordered and it was done super quick. Got it home and devoured most of it before we remembered to take a picture. Definitely found our new go-to spot!

I did wait in line but it was worth it. Really good street tacos. Plenty of meat and toppings. The sauce was flavorful. We got all the different ones to try all of them. Honestly they were all really good. I thought I would have a favorite but I like all of them

I would give this place 5 out of 5 stars, if the guacamole was better. The guacamole was basically pico de gallo with a tiny bit of avocado. The agua de horchata and the tacos de birria were amazing! Service was fast and the atmosphere was perfect.

The food was savory good and fresh. The service was quick and friendly. Great small business to support.

Having grown up in central LA I know a good mom and pop place when I see one! Plenty of wonderful options for everyone. Unfortunately, if you order delivery it doesn't give you the fish taco option. The nachos and Mexican Corn are amazing. The cactus burrito is a vegetarian paradise. Great texture and flavor. Takes a minute to get your food but that is a small trade off for quality.

Did take out for lunch today. Service was quick and easy. Took me no time to figure out what I wanted to order. Got my food hot and fresh in under 10 minutes. Everything tasted delicious

Overpriced tacos. Nothing special. Place is kinda old and run down. Service was friendly. You could do better but you could also do worse. Our #1 spot was closed so we settled on this one. Probably won't be back.

Here's the deal: Jessy's is located in a small shopping strip. While the building is a little older I did not think l it run down or in a part of town that I would consider questionable at all. I saw at least one review that noted this- could not disagree more., nothing to fear here. Plenty of parking and it's free! Once inside the restaurant is medium sized with seating for at least 15 parties and tables that can accommodative larger parties, 10+ people. There are two order stations at either side of the restaurant - one for hot food the other for ice cream and desserts. Service was friendly and attentive. You can choose to self order for takeout or be waited on. While staff wait on and bring you food and drink, pay is self pay at the food order counter. The menu is larger and has something for everyone. Proteins are optional for nearly every dish. The food here is authentic with lots of protections including some of my favorites- Al pastor and chicken tinga. Chips and salsa are scratch made and fresh- very good. We had street tacos which were very flavorful and also scratch cooked including the corn tortillas. Served with traditional hot sauces to add that little extra heat- awesome. The Al pastor was not grilled to get that char that some Al pastor dishes have but was otherwise spot on. Chicken tinga was perfect. If you are looking for authentic Mexican at reasonable prices, this is your place and absolutely worth a few minutes drive over. Hope to see you there sometime- happy eating!

We came here to celebrate a birthday, and it ended up being one of those meals where everything just hit. First off, those margaritas are no joke. Massive, flavorful, and strong in the best way. Bonus: they do $2 off specialty margs on Mondays, which is dangerous knowledge now that I have it. I went with the Coco Loco Margarita (1800 coconut tequila, coconut milk, triple sec, and sweetened flaked coconut), and WOW. It was creamy, refreshing, and honestly tasted like a tropical vacation. My friends ordered the House Marg, Peach Sangria Marg and the Spicy Pineapple & Cilantro Marg, all were just as impressive. The spicy one had a great kick without being overwhelming, and the peach option was super smooth and fruity. Before we even ordered, the complimentary chips, salsa, and that famous white sauce came out ... and let me tell you, that white sauce is to die for. I could've eaten that all night. For my dinner, I had the asada enchiladas, and I'm still thinking about them. Perfectly cooked grilled steak laid over cheesy enchiladas with verde sauce, plus rice and black beans. I loved that the steak was on top because once I got full, I could still pick at the protein (elite move). My friends got arroz con pollo, carne asada tacos, and the wildest dish on the table ... the El Molcajete. It came out sizzling in a stone bowl loaded with shrimp, beef, chicken, chorizo, cactus, and all the fixings. We all shared bites and it was unreal. We ended the night with the staff singing happy birthday and completely embarrassing my friend with a sombrero and a candle in his shot. Incredible. Definitely will be coming back, especially for that margarita deal and birthdays!

Happy hour was 3-6pm I think, and there were 2 taco specials on the board. I'm not sure if it was valid or not.. There was one person at the bar taking orders, serving drinks, and pretty much running the place. She was very busy. The anxiety of watching her try to handle everything made me a little uncomfortable. She was doing her best, and kuddos to her for not flipping a table and walking out. She was nice, but she asked us every 3-4 minutes if we knew what we were ordering. It was very aggravating. I don't think she realized after several times we were over it. The inside is pretty much a bar setting with a few booths. It's very dated and low-key kind of gloomy inside. I'd say this is a bar for locals, not really a restaurant. It's definitely the kind of food you could eat if you had a few drinks, maybe. But sober, heck no!! Lol. Ugh. I was excited to try them because they have some 5 star reviews, but it wasn't what I expected. When it was time to eat she went and got the cook from outside. We ordered 2 burgers and fries, and chicken nachos. We left and came back to pick up our order and the seats at the bar was packed at this point. The waitress met us as we walked in, with our food. I was hungry, so I tried the food in the car. The burger was definitely a frozen patty and thick as heck. It looked decent kinda sorta, in a way, maybe, just a little bit. Idk what to say. The fries were crispy but awkwardly greasy!! There was one tiny tomato on my burger and a huge onion that was a little moldy. I've never seen someone use a slice of onion this big on a burger. The burger definitely needed seasoning. I think if it had flavor it would have been decent. I'll give the burger a 4/10. My sister got the chicken nachos and she was not happy. Whatever mystery beans they had made were disgusting. They tasted old or something was off about them. The guacamole was a little sour tasting also, and the chicken was flavorless. She tried so hard to make it work, she even re-cooked the beans and it just didn't help. 2/10!!! She spent $25 and felt it was the worse decision she made all day. I wish I was exaggerating or something, but this is actual factual. The prices are reasonable, I'll say that. But it's definitely certain things to stay away from on the menu. I don't think we'd ever return. Maybe the tacos are better than what we had ordered. If you're looking for a drink maybe things would be better. I think they specialize in drinks over food!?

Believing things was about to hit smh nope.. my kid said mom I appreciate you bringing me something to eat home but.... The burger tastes like nothing was like chewing sawdust bacon was the only thing to taste alright, fries were ok though. now lol for my nachos looks can be deceiving. My lettuce was brown and wilted, was supposed to be like a refried beans I guess ‍ they were kidney beans looked those. When i say they smelled like I was taken back by the look of things but when my crazy self tasted that mess my lawdt smh had my stomach doing flips. Also the guacamole tasted like that was old and sour. I have had guac with too much lemon or lime juice in it, this was like past its time only looked ok due to the lemon juice or whatever. Will not be doing that again. The ambiance was chill a few of those slot games bar area in the middle of the place a few tables around it nothing to really hype up. I will say even though we didn't care for what we had, maybe it was a bad day. ‍ Who knows other things may be good if we stop past that beauty store again, I'd go and try the lumpia or fried fish taco. Was told that they taste really good. lol honestly y'all go be the judge for yourselves could have been an off day.
