Very good. I highly recommend La Parrilla. My daughter is picky and she enjoyed her taco with rice and beans. My son ate almost all of his food and some guacamole. This was the only time in my life that I have eaten at a restaurant when the only time the server (Angel) came over of his own accord was to take our order. Especially at a Mexican restaurant, chips and dips usually arrive as soon as you sit down. We even had to go to the cash register to request our check and pay the bill! Went here Friday 12/12 with my family as we've been many times before. Ordered the wings, ate 1 and didn't like them so I told the waitress I didn't like them can I send them back and order something else ..she goes and gets the manager and I tell him the same thing I don't like them can I order something else. The manager proceeds to tell me you can order something else but you're going to pay for these wings as well..at this point I'm confused because every restaurant I've been to if you're not satisfied with your food you send it back. So I said excuse me and he repeated it again and I said I've never heard of that and if that's the case I need to see that in writing or somewhere posted because I have seen a few restaurants like that out of town but they make it well known. So of course I tell him if you can show me where you have that documented or in your policy I will gladly pay for the wings. At this point he gets mad my wife intervenes and he walks off.. so I tell the waitresses to tell him to come back and he finally does.. and I tell him exact words sir I'm talking to you calmly and respectfully as I am the manager of a store as well so I know how this goes and anything I tell a customer about a dispute I can show you or its posted somewhere specifically for situations like this..he starts talking over me again and ends the convo with don't worry about paying for any of it just don't come back...so were all shocked at this point because I tried to handle the situation like an adult but he was irrate for some reason...even still as we were leaving I say hey sir I will pay for everything on my tab except the wings he says no again and just to leave...I knew at this point his ego and pride had gotten the best of him. To me, this is your standard Mexican restaurant with its excessively large menu of all the favorites. It's the somewhat Americanized kind that strays a bit from the truly authentic fare you'll find within a few miles' drive. The chips and salsa were nothing special but still very tasty. My tacos were what I expected them to be. Service was quick and friendly. My parents really enjoyed their meals which looked to be quite filling. They have a kids menu with simple options to please your picky eaters. It's pretty large, so probably a good place to hold a get-together. UPDATE TO MY LAST REVIEW! Last night we decided to give the sit down experience at this restaurant a try and I have to say I'm impressed! The drink specials are phenomenal, as a huge margarita only costs $10-- and it's got a good amount of tequila in it. This time we opted for the double steak fajitas to share and they were excellent! The steak was well seasoned with a good amount of onions and green peppers. It was cooked well, though I typically prefer it more rare than not; however, the meat was tender and compliments the vegetables. We were each given three tortillas and a big portion of rice and beans to go along with the fajitas. All in all, it was a great experience! The service was fast, server was polite, food was fresh and the restaurant was clean. I look forward to returning. Additional note: DoorDash marks up prices for this restaurant quite a bit. If you opt to eat here, order take out and go and get it yourself if dining in isn't your thing. Our sit down order with drinks was cheaper than two entrees through DoorDash. First time trying this restaurant. I was surprised by all that is around this place. Restaurant is very well cleaned and quite. We even saw the host constant going and wiping down the door handles. The staff is very friendly, fast, and helpful. The menu has a lot of options more than I have seen at other Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa were decent. They were very nice and brought our table of 5 two baskets of chips and extra salsa and white sauce. The margaritas are definitely good. The chimichanga has excellent flavors. The lunch fajitas were ok chicken was dry. The chicken and rice was delightful. The amount I received was a lot. Compared to paying the same $12 amount at another place for less. We also got a kids meal hot dog and fries. We were shocked how many fries we got it was awesome. The fries are very very good and go well with cheese sauce! Trying this place for the first time today since our usual spot has cockroaches.. not a fan of takeout Mexican because it just doesn't hit like it does when you dine in however i still gave it a shot. Ordered: fajitas, chori pollo, and enchiladas. Did NOT come with tortillas???? Also the cheese dip lid was not on and made an absolute mess in the bag and leaked all over the car. There are many gastronomic sadomasochistic ways one can torture yourself, this one rates up there with Japanese steak houses and sugar free gummy bears. There was a internal power struggle for porcelain real estate this morning as all of us were out the door late. Although none of the food was great, the red sauce on my wife's burrito taste like stale ketchup, the pinnacle was the molcajete .... This one was a new tier in self deprecating menu travel. Although a classic Mexican dish, what was served was a giant mortar of road kill bubbling in a caldron of chorizo grease and an unknown cheese. My husband and I got La Parrilla via Doordash and we were so hungry we didn't even take pictures. But I'm sad we didn't because the food was AMAZING. They packaged it so well too. I usually have low expectations for food delivery, but I was not disappointed. I got the chicken with spinach+bacon sauce with fresh veggies and rice. My food was so delicious I wasn't even sad that I couldn't find the bacon in the sauce. My husband got the chicken and steak fajitas and ranted and raved about them. The little one and I came here for a quick dinner on a Saturday. EXCELLENT food. They were pretty busy and we were still seated upon arrival. We were given chips, salsa, and white sauce. All of which were yummy. I had the La Parrilla Especial. OMG. This was amazing! I wanted to try something different from my usual, and boy am I glad I ordered this! The steak, mushrooms, and onions were in this delicious sauce. It was given with tortillas and avocado, tomatoes, and lettuce. Absolutely heaven in my mouth!! My son loved his chicken fingers. I have been going here for years and they always forget my cheese sauce on the side, so I have to go back and get it! This time it was terrible! I asked a question about chips and got very nasty attitude and charger with out asking if I wanted them! And then just to leave check the bag and again No Cheese on the side!! I go back to get it and I am once again met by the same nasty person, who did not apologize or acknowledge the mistake. Just a nasty " Da Nada". We love this place! The food and service are excellent! Now with COVID-19 they have touch free menus. You can see the employees following all the safety rules. My husband usually has the carne asada tacos and I usually have the bean enchiladas with guac salad and rice. Sometimes with margaritas and sometimes with beer. You can't go wrong either way! I'd love to recommend this place as their food is excellent, but that one bad situation you hear about happened to me while I had family in town because my dad had just passed a couple days earlier. I had ordered a lot of food for take out, and when we got home, we realized there were no tortillas. We tipped generously for a takeout order, so thought maybe their delivery guy might just run it less than minutes down the road for us, but the hostess put me on hold for 10 minutes after telling them my issue, and then the manager came online (I'm pretty sure it was still the hostess) and pretended like she couldn't hear me on the phone, and she hung up on me. Trust me when I say that I'm not one to leave bad reviews -- I'm a retired Navy veteran who has been through culinary school ... so I also understand how understaffed FOH and BOH can get on a weekend, and I even understand how some operations can't handle the rush. I didn't call back after my initial call as I could tell they were busy. I'm not mad at La Parilla because their food is usually great, hence my generous 3 stars. I'm upset that the server who I explained the situation to treated me poorly. My 3 stars don't reflect the restaurant in general because it is normally a 4-5 star experience. read more

Chicken burrito, enchilada And chimichanga were too salty and the cheese dip was watery even after cooling off. Then entire meal seemed like a rushed job and the exact same meal at the harbor view location was excellent. Found this place on our way to Myrtle Beach. Food is authentic and flavorful. I had the chicken and spinach enchiladas and they did not skimp on the filling. Every delicious, authentic, real Mexican restaurant I have been to has had... you guessed it, actual people of Hispanic descent working there. WOW!! The food here is the standard American/Mexican fare... A plus to the kitchen who make their stuff jalapeños homemade with chunks of shrimp, delicious!! The jalapeños are large and are not just half full of stuffing either... The beef taco was one of the better tasting tacos we have had, the ground beef was seasoned properly to the point that my wife said it tasted nearly like her beef tacos... Where the three stars come from is not for the food or service but for the lack of cleanliness... I mean the floor was horrible, food, trash, straws and not just around our table but in other sections as well... A 10min walk around with a broom and they would be looking at a 4-5 star rating... I went there for drinks and to check out the area, I am from NY, but was ignored at the door. I checked out Fin and Tonic next door (the service was exceptional immediately) however, they were having a reserved wine party and it was a bit empty. The front desk woman stared at me awkwardly as I looked around to feel the place out. I received sticky-wet drink menus and was thrown mediocre queso dip and lack luster chips. I am black, but dont mind spending hard earned money to enjoy myself from my busy week schedule (with GOOD service). All I can say is; It would have been in my best interest and experience to go to Fin and Tonic prior to the reserved wine party. This place is rushed, mediocre and chooses their service. Went here for my cousin's birthday. Located off of Cedar Road along the strip of retail spaces. It was a pretty chill night, not too busy and was greeted by their manager. There were no other waitresses on the floor but their bartender, bc it took awhile to get our orders in. Food was decent ordered the fajita with steak, shrimp, and chicken. It was shareable, bc it was a lot, good thing my Boyfriend was hungry? Customer service was slow, and barely attentive towards us. Very disappointed. As I was boxing up the burrito- I notice the pink spot on the burrito and my plate.Of course when I brought it to the waiters attention, he didn't know what it was.
