Went here for Taco Tuesday dinner, close to around 8 pm. Restaurant was quite packed, but we didn't have a wait time at all. Waiter was quick to bring us chips and salsa and also take our drink orders. I tried their large Midnight Margarita (10/10) I loved the flavor and it was STRONG! For food, I was craving steak, and saw Steak El Amigo (10/10) on the menu. It was very flavorful, tender, seasoned, cooked exactly how I wanted it, and more than enough food for me. The steak was topped with cheese sauce, shrimp, fajita vegetables, peppers, and mushrooms. Also came with a side of rice and beans and tortillas. Def my new go to spot for sure. Yikes! This was quite possibly the most disgusting meal I've encountered in a long time. Service was fine, but I was so sickened by the food that I will not likely return. We were sat immediately around 630 on a Friday evening. We received chips and dips before I could even sit down! Our server promptly greeted us and drinks were ready within minutes. So far, so good. For dinner, hubby had the Vegetarian E which came with a burrito, quesadilla and chalupa, daughter had the kids quesadilla with beans and I initially selected the shrimp bowl. Our food took about 15 minutes. Both quesadillas were barely warm and the cheese wasn't even melted. The refried beans were loaded with red pepper and too spicy for my child. My shrimp bowl was overwhelmed by cheese and aioli that I couldn't stomach it. Our server kindly let me order something else so I selected the shrimp taco salad. It arrived shortly thereafter but was also so greasy it made my stomach turn. 2 stars just for service. 0 for food. Overall, this meal was an unfortunate waste of $50. read more

The food here was exceptional. Everything was seasoned to perfection. I always love a good show so when they lit my entrée on fire honey that sealed the deal for me. The service is always exceptional and the ambience was decent this time. The restaurant was super clean and it only took about 10 minutes before my food was ready. The meat was tender and succulent. I love that they don't over season their food. It tastes pretty authentic to me. Everything is made to order including the chips. This is one of my favorite places to visit with the family. Taco Tuesdays. $1 hard beef or chicken tacos. The soft version is $1.50. I bring the kids here and it fills us up without breaking the bank. Service is pretty quick too no matter what you decide to order. I also like the Menudo soup. Not many Mexican places in the 757 off up this treat. That I know of. I do believe it's known as the ultimate hangover cure all. I wish it had more bits of the meat as a few times they only just have some trotters in the soup and mostly bone. Other off the menu items are decent sized and the burrito fills my son's teenage appetite. My friend also loves the sauce on the $20 steak. Not sure what it is called though. It seems each time I come back for Taco Tuesdays, the wait is longer and longer. It's alright since the kiddos really like coming here and eating until they nearly pop. My only compliant is the parking lot design and size. My wife and I stopped here after getting our COVID vaccine at the Hindu Temple in Chesapeake. Food was great! We started off with obligatory chips and salsa. Many restaurants do not have fresh cilantro in their salsa, I was pleased La Hacienda does. They also have a pretty good vegetarian menu, my wife happily got the vegetarian Chimichangas. When you can't get enough of Mexican another one pops up! This is in the new shopping strip near Kroger's and Starbucks off of Battlefield Blvd. There's not much Mexican restaurants in this particular area so it's a welcoming addition. The decor is nice, it's clean and the sound of Mexico playing in the air. To me, most waiters and staff at these restaurants aren't the most hospitable so it's not much to speak on that. The food is basic, nothing that I can't get at any other Mexican restaurants. I tried the chicken fajita, and it came out hot but was a little too salty for me. The salsa was good and chips warm. They have specials on hard tacos on Tuesdays, so I will be back for that. read more

Normally the food and service is great and nothing but 4-5 star overall experience and food quality. Lately, the service has been lackluster...specifically, take out. Perhaps it's the new young man (no name tag) that (still) doesn't know the menu...this is the 3rd time over the course of the last month that I've came across the same young man. He doesn't know the menu, doesn't ask for help, and today (10 Feb) he chose the most expensive fajita meal to ring me up with...until I asked him which one he was ringing me up for. I asked for the chicken fajitas and he rung me up for the Fajitas Texans. I had to show him in the menus which one it was (sad that I know the menu better than he does). I then ordered a cabeza burrito and again, he had no clue what that was and asked me if I knew which one on the menu that was. I told him to just ring me up for the fajitas and add fresh guacamole. While I was waiting he was restocking his register with change and seemed to have issues with that as well (smh). I'm not one to tag on young people but geesh! A bit frustrating, especially since this isn't the first time this happens. We've had good experiences in the past but tonight was not the best. My tacos were quite bland and the corn tortillas were almost mushy. Corn tortillas do best with a little bit of frying as it gives them more stability, texture, and better flavor. I hit a raspberry mojito-but could only stand two sips. We love Mexican food and had to check this place out. There were three of us so we were able to try three different items. That's always a good thing. Between us we ordered some tacos, cheese & onions enchilda platter and the regular taco salad. The tacos were amazing. We weren't overly pleased with the sauce on the enchilda platter but every place does their sauce a little different. The ground beef taco salad was amazing. It was suggested to us by a salesman while we were test driving a vehicle so we figured to give it a try. Blown away. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I ordered the Tacos Jalisco ( birria tacos) and my boyfriend ordered the fish tacos. Flavors upon flavors! Everything was delicious. The birria dip was soooo good. This was my first time having birria tacos since I'd been meaning to try them since discovering the official name for them. And WHEW, I am addicted. My boyfriend said his tacos were good the fish just needed a little more seasoning but he said with the dipping sauce (a white sauce and some salsa) they were good. Best Mexican food in VA, being from the SW I had given up on finding a Mexican restaurant that had any flavor or spice, fortunately for me La Hacienda opened up and they do not disappoint. We love Taco Tuesday where a hard shell is only a 1.00 and soft a 1.50. The meat has such good seasoning. The margaritas are perfectly made. The enchilada sauce has excellent flavor. We also love the Tacos Jalisco... so delicious. We have also had the Burrito Tejano it is so big we usually share it and come on Wednesday when burritos are on sale. The staff is super friendly. The food has been decent, do not know if I like the customer service because I have heard some of the employees speak Spanish and I'm fluent in it and heard some of them bad mouthing the customers. If your going to do that do it in the back or something not in ear shot. My wife has had the California fries it's good the first couple of times but the last two times her stomach has been a mess after eating them.
