First time at Burritos La Palma in a Santa Ana strip mall with plenty of parking. Small, clean spot with only about 5-6 tables and lots of takeout orders. Lilly at the register was super friendly and helped walk us through the menu. Even gave us her favorite, the deshebrada, which was solid. We ordered the birria, frijol con queso, deshebrada, spicy chicharrón (my favorite), and a side of refried beans. Everything was packed with flavor. The burritos are small, but they definitely deliver. Drink selection was great too with Mexican Coke and plenty of Jarritos. They also have nachos and tortas. Only downside was the salsa. They only have one and it's pretty mild, which was a little disappointing. Luckily they give you whole serrano peppers for extra heat. Overall, great food, friendly service, and big flavor in a small space. Definitely coming back.

Went here on a quick lunch break, food came out very fast which was perfect. Each burrito is a little under $4 and not your average burrito that you would normally think of (filled with rice beans cheese meat etc) they're more like rolled tacos almost but softer. I liked the texture and how cheesy it was but the flavor of the meat was a little off to me. Had an interesting aftertaste I can't quite put my finger on. I wish the salsa was a little spicier or more flavored, kinda just tasted like a bunch of tomatoes cut up together. This is my 3rd time trying this place and to be honest I think it's just okay.

Ok so the hype lived up to the taste. I have seen this burrito shop on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube so I had to try it. It did not disappoint. These are small but tasty burritos. The flour tortillas were so soft. It's a little shop with about 5 to 6 tables. The service was very friendly. Price is about $5 each, and I had two of them (birria and the bean and cheese). Both were great. I would definitely come back and try more flavors.

Love this place always order the burrito with birria. Absolutely delicious. I went today June 24th 2026 and orders a torta and after I got home ate my torta got to the avocado and it was black and nasty. I called them and spoke to Lilly the manager and expected a sorry but all she said was and I quote "That's the only avocados we have" unsympathetic answer that made me a very unhappy customer. If I don't come back, it's not because of the food. It's because in this day and age you shouldn't be treating people like we need you.! Cuz we don't.

Good stuff! The parking lot is limited and rail road track on the other side makes this place hard to get parking if you come during rush hour time. Inside has limited seating! Burritos are very flavorful and the tortillas is soft and chewy! I needed at least two, my favorite is the green Chilie shreaded beef and the bean and cheese. The bad was the salsa, mostly watery and not much flavor, made a mess trying to pour on to my burrito.

Can we have a moment for the most simplest yet delicious burritos?! Located in a fairly busy plaza, this hidden gem. When I tell you, I'm not a huge fan of just a "bean and cheese" burrito, I can honestly devour a handful from here. Although they're on the "smaller size" the flavors were so rich and I couldn't really get enough. If you love a fatty chicharron as a protein choice, you have GOT to try the chicharron burrito. I've honestly tried 3 burrito flavors and enjoyed each one. Please note they're not what you may be used to (do not contain rice and are not heft). My order came with salsa and peppers and it was so simple and delicious. The salsa personally wasn't my favorite but, the fresh pepper made up for it. The shop is a bit on the smaller size probably a handful of tables. I for sure will be back!

Burritos La Palma has been on my list of places to try for awhile, I finally said we were GOING. We had lunch here on a Saturday, got there right after they opened and it was pretty slow, no issue with getting a table. The place is tiny, so I could see that being an issue. The two guys working were so friendly and kind, had great customer service. We each got 2 burritos and it was plenty, we walked out very full. Prices are great, lunch was about $20 for the two of us. I had Chicken Tinga (with chipotle & potatoes) and Deshebrada (shredded beef with green chiles & potatoes), both were really good. LOVE their homemade tortillas, my husband said he wished they sold them. Tinga was spicy, but not hot enough to blow my palate. Deshebrada was really good, I think I would add cheese next time. We both enjoyed the salsa served on the side. Husband had Deshebrada and Birria, Frijoles & Queso. This was our favorite by far, I will definitely order that one next time! All the burritos were well made, didn't fall apart, super juicy (especially the Tinga!) and packed with flavor. I get my car serviced near here, and I will be stopping by next time I get my car worked on and bringing these home!

The best bean and cheese burritos anywhere! Served on one of the tastiest flour tortillas I've had--they're soft but give just enough chew for a satisfying bite. They're smaller burritos so order two or three and try the different fillings. Chicharron is melt-in-your-mouth juicy with a spicy kick. Have also tried deshebrada shredded beef, chicken tinga, and birria, and all were excellent. Served with salsa and a bag of fresh, hot jalapeños by a friendly and helpful staff. The dining room is bright, orderly, and clean if you want to eat in. Great place for a quick, delicious bite!

First time here and we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Business was slow but the service was fast and friendly. The interior was clean, but also very small. Not many tables were available. We tried one of each burritos and I will say the prices were a bit too high for the small portions. The flavor was not there in the side order of beans, but a pinch of salt truly helped. In my opinion I felt they could stuff their burritos a little more considering how small they are. The quality of their meats were decent, but my personal favorite was the birria with cheese and beans and the deshebrada. Their house salsa has no spice whatsoever, it seemed more like a pico de gallo, but they served a chile Serrano on the side which helped deliver a kick. All in all, this was a decent meal and I'd consider returning in the future.

Burritos la Palma is a gem fam! Don't sleep on it I'm telling you It definitely won't disappoint! It's located in a small shopping center r! So parking can be pretty difficult but it's manageable! The service is ok not great but not bad The price point is low and considering the size of the burritos and the taste of the burritos is on point ! My recommendation is order at least 2-3 burritos for 1 person that will definitely fill you up ! Overall super tastey super cheap check them out fam !

Always amazing! The staff is always so kind and the food is delicious! It's been years and prices continue to go up but they are still well worth it!

Stopped by after work to pick up some burritos. Ordered a couple birria burritos for me and a tinga, deshebrada, and a bean and cheese burrito for hubby. Salsa was pretty bomb on this visit. I know the restaurant has a Michelin star due to their consistency but the salsa based on my previous visits has varied. Hubby was very impressed with the bean and cheese burrito. He's had it before but said that right after the first bite it was like an explosion of flavor in his mouth. I said yup lard will do that to beans.

Pick up (by someone else) review. Came out to around $6. Its a bit small for the price, normal tortilla size with meat wrapped inside. I got a deshebrada ( beef with green pepper and onion) Quite simple. Its juicy and flavor is there. Everything meshes well together. The tortilla is fresh and had that soft baby texture. Im definitely more used to my burritos having more toppings but I suppose its authentic. I thought it'd be spicy but its not. The salsa they have is really good, good balance of flavors, some built up heat. Kinda has the homemade feel

Ask the Community - Burritos La Palma

Do they use lard(pork fat) in the bean and cheese burritos?

Yes on the lard, but not sure if it's beef or pork. If you've ever seen or read anything about this small chain, it's prominently mentioned for the beans and tortillas.

Are these made fresh on site or transported frozen then thawed/heated on-site?

From what I saw, they were made right there on their stove top. :)

    Do they accept credit cards?

They sure do, which makes this awesome spot all the more dangerous! 😋

    Is this place still open?

Yes. I was there a couple of days ago.

Is it open for take out?

    Yes they are!

Do they use a delivery service?

He's 0 for 3 right now, and I'm HIGHLY skeptical about the foodie influencers that rate these restaurants so highly. It's my birthday this week, but life happens so we celebrated early with the whole family here at Rosa Madera. We could've easily chosen a better and more familiar spot, but I wasn't paying and it was worth a try (I guess). Upon entering, my oldest son said the decor is tacky. The overhead lights were on so it didn't look all romantic like on the socials. Hella roses, skulls, huge murals, drift wood, tiki lounge lamps, Clase Azul bottles on the wall, an Our Lady of Guadalupe at the hostess stand... Decor wasn't cohesive and was a mix of romantic, goth, pirate, tropical bungalow and coastal beach house. My older two mentioned that the playlist had a really good mix, and I distinctly remember walking to our table with La Chona playing. We went in on a Thursday afternoon, so the restaurant was not to capacity, probably 1/4 of a way occupied. We were seated quickly, and our server greeted us just as promptly with two servings of duritos, one plain and one with Valentina. We ordered our drinks and an app: Modelo, Jamaica Margarita, Cucumber Agua Fresca, Dr. Peppers, and waters, and Los Favoritos that had chicken tinga taquitos, birria chimichangas, and al pastor nachos. Drinks came out quickly and were presented nicely. The Jamaica margarita came rimmed with chamoy and Tajin and was garnished with rose petals and a lime slice. The Cucumber Agua Fresca was served in a traditional jarritos and was refreshing. Hubby took a few sips of his Modelo, then ordered an Horchata. I thought he ordered another beer, but he explained that Modelos are only good ice cold, so he didn't want the rest of his beer. Los Favoritos was served to our table, and the food looked great. Our favorite was the chicken tinga taquitos. The birria chimichangas were too cheesy for my liking, and my daughter mentioned that the middles were on the cold side. The chips for the nachos were good and crispy and held up to all the toppings. The al pastor, though, had a flavor that I couldn't appreciate, and soon as I said that out loud hubby and my oldest son chimed in and said the same thing. A red salsa and some crema were served with our app, with the red salsa having a nice flavor and a little kick to it. The twins both ordered the Ranchera A La Plancha, hubby had the Tacos de Papa, my daughter had the Mushroom Quesadilla Ahogadas, my oldest son chose the Ultimate Breakfast Burrito, and I decided on the Chilaquiles Rojas with steak. The twins quickly pushed aside all the food items they don't like, which basically left just the meat and the tortillas. My oldest son said the burrito was more cheese than anything and only took a few bites before pushing his plate aside. Hubby only ate half of his tacos. I think they gave me the mole instead of the salsa rojos because the sauce was undeniably sweet. The steak that came with, half of it was fatty. My daughter's mushroom quesadilla was almost pure cheese with tiny slivers of mushroom. We took a lot of the food home, but I doubt anyone is gonna eat it. My older two said 2/5 and the twins said 3/5. Parking is a shared lot amongst other businesses and the restrooms are bright and clean. There were two big parties to the left of us, with one table disputing the bill. That same table celebrated a birthday where they brought a dessert with a sparkler and a communal sombrero.

To make matters worse, one of our meals was completely forgotten. The service was extremely slow throughout the entire visit. Every time we needed something, whether it was a refill, an update, or assistance, the wait felt excessive. The restaurant may have potential because the food itself was flavorful, but it seemed like they were either understaffed or unprepared for the number of customers they had. Another disappointment was the drink selection. We were told they don't have a liquor license, so hard alcohol isn't available. Their sodas were canned, and when we asked for juice for the kids, they told us they were completely out. As for the atmosphere, the restaurant is on the smaller side and felt more like a converted house than a traditional restaurant, complete with a fireplace and television in the dining area. The food had good flavor, which is the only reason I'm giving more than one star. Unfortunately, the long wait times, missing meal, lack of drink options, and poor service made the overall experience disappointing.

He initially didn't understand, but finally got it. Food was good. One person's carne asada was burnt and tough, but others said what they ordered was good. Glass of wine was a bit skimpy for the price. Then the bill came. We triple checked the bill to make sure we weren't charged for anything we didn't order since there were so many plates that came out that we didn't order. Turned out a plate of chile verde was on the bill that we didn't order. Had our new server take it off the bill, but the automatic 18% gratuity didn't change. It was based off the original total because she took off the cost of the extra charge as a discount not a deleted item. The bill was finally cleared, but it should not have been so much work for us to make sure the bill was correct. In the end, consensus was the food was good, but the service was dysfunctional, between the multiple mis-orders and multiple requests for napkins, utensils, tortillas, and chips and the questions about the bill.
