    Churros

Came here around 11:30 am on a taco Tuesday and there was not much of a wait surprisingly. Though the seating is very small and gets crowded quickly, besides that the place is nice and cozy and clean. I ordered al pastor, pollo asado, mushroom tacos, and churros. The tacos were really well done and the house made corn tortillas really shined and had the perfect bite yet was nice and soft. The tacos were right up there with los cholos in my opinion though the salsa bar was not as extensive as theirs. That said the creamy salsas were tasty and my favorite were the seasoned pickled onions and the salsa Negra. The churros were hot, crispy and fresh and made to order which was a nice touch and served with condensed milk. I will 100% be back and try more on the menu.

This is my 2nd review. OK, this was for sure the best 2 food items I've had.. it's Time to declare this IS The Most Flavorful Taco Shop in all of OC! The fish taco was Huge, the fish very large- not to mention perfectly cooked, tender, and I could taste the fish! The flat hard taco shell with Al pastor..equally grand, with guac on top. Their salsa bar/ love the creamy spicey Chipotle sauce, and the dark brown, Smokey and lately sweet salsa to die for. 5 stars.

Órale, órale! This is my favorite taco spot in OC and it's a bit better than Los Cholos too. Been coming here for years now, the consistency and quality still remain the same and delicious. Never had a bad taco here, so you know they be putting up the good work. Came in last night, and no, they don't have Taco Tuesday specials, but I will still pay for those bomb ass tacos because it's definitely worthwhile. The whole place was pack and lit up with bright lights. It's by Chapman University, so you gonna see lots of students coming by too. The staff there were also friendly and patient. The lady in the back was nice to cut up new fresh limes for me. Always a good vibe here! It was random seeing some of my homies here too the other day. Just goes to show how popping it is! I got two el pastor and one carne asada, and my partner got a Baja fish and the mushroom taco. Everything a 5/5. Their homemade corn tortilla is on a different level and not soaked in oil. The texture is good. The meat is good quality too and very tender/juicy. My favorite one was the el pastor with those pineapple bites. The mushroom taco on the other to my surprise was quite tasty! All the sauces are bomb, but I really like the super spicy one, the green one, and orange one. You gotta try every sauce to see what matches your palate. The pickle onion was tangy enough and had pepper on it for a nice kick. The guac and chip is so good and well seasoned. Just wished there was more guac in the small cup. You guys gotta come thru for some good tacos and good vibes. Like LeBron always say, "TACOO TUESSZDAY!" lol.

Everything i ate was so delicious. The California burrito was enough to share for me and my partner. We got the fish and the carne Asada taco as well. I liked the fish taco better. The churros with condensed milk was warm and tasty too. Everything came out so fast. It was a little warm in the seating area and you might have to wait for a table. My friend told me this spot gets busy and it might be hard to find Parking so prepare for that.

For a Sunday at 1:30pm it was crazy crowded. Like no personal space type of crowded. People would stand next to you and hover waiting for a place to sit, so overly crowded. Very small location, and parking is tough to get with paid parking everywhere. I do love the salsa bar, with variety of salsa options. The mild avocado salsa is the best! Also jalapeños and pickled onions available. The carne asada burrito comes with meat, beans and salsa. The churros are so warm, soft crunchiness and the glaze (condensed milk goodness) it comes with is heaven!

What a great spot! Walked in and was immediately greeted by Ricky. He was so welcoming and friendly. Amazing customer service!! We tried tacos de pollo, pescado, are asasa and al pastor. All of them were delicious. Fresh salsa options and limones. And can't forget the churros!! Thanks for a great experience Ricky!

Always Hits for us! Food is freshly made to order so you get it nice & hot. My fav are their Mar y Tierra Fries. And their Sonora Tacos are such a comfort food! And a bonus... SUPER friendly staff. Ernesto came up to us & greeted us as we found a table, cleaned it off & made sure we had what we needed.

Nice location! You can eat and then walk around and shop and get coffee or tea The mushroom taco is a 10/10. The char and flavor in the chunky mushrooms are delicious. Not soggy at all. They perfected them! The churros are delicious as well. Soft inside and crispy sweet on the outside. Don't forget your chips and guacamole. Not spicy at all, I add jalapeños from their salsa bar to give it a little more spice.

Shrimp Burrito- Very good- 4 stars

The Taco Stand originated in San Diego, and made its way to Orange County in 2019. This location is in the Orange Circle next to Snooze AM Eatery. I tried their Shrimp Burrito $10.50. The service was good and our food came out quickly. The only thing about the shrimp burrito is it did not come with any beans or rice, just shrimp and cabbage, but the chipotle sauce was good. I look forward to coming back and trying their variety of tacos and quesadillas. This place has a straightforward menu with good food. They also have a salsa bar with condiments for your food. There is a lot of seating, but they get very busy at lunchtime and fill up fast. Happy eating! Yelp Review #5- 2026

    Al Pastor Taco
    Carrie Z.

I tried the Al Pastor taco, and for $5 (including tax and tip), it was a win. Al Pastor: The flavors were actually on point, so much so that I was ready to go back and order a second one. Salsa Bar: They have a self-service salsa bar where everything tasted fresh and well-made. The Experience: It's a straightforward, solid spot. The only thing is that the tables were not clean.

Parking is a nightmare, but finding seating in the restaurant is worse. Ordered a bean and cheese burrito, it only has one bite of cheese. Took 45 minutes for food to be ready and everyone that ordered their food after us got it before us. I've been to the Taco Stand in Vegas and went back multiple times because it was so good. I won't be back to this location as the entire experience was bad.

    Carne asada is dope
    Jennifer C.

Tacos here are delicious and you can also swap to flour tortilla of corn is not your vibe. I usually get carne asada or mushroom tacos, and 2 tacos is pretty filling for me. The salsa bar can be slow depending on how packed it is. The portion cups are only so small and there's so much variety of items to get so line can get clogged pretty easily. They also do catering! My friend has catered for her baby shower before and can confirm the quality is just as good and holds up well.

Im allergic to pork. Is there cross contamination with the el pastor when I order other types of food?

    yes

Do you have a taco Tuesday deal?

    Nah

    This place is closed?

Nope - still open as far as I know.

What kind of fish is used in the baja taco?

For our Baja Taco we use swai fish that is battered.

What's the capacity of the store and are there taco Tuesday specials?

Capacity is small, approx 25 people maybe.

    Yes

Are the corn tortillas and chips 100 percent gluten free?

What a night! UNFORGETTABLE EVENT OF 2026!!!!…read more Last Thursday, our ULI CFL Foodies gathered for a truly memorable evening at Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen in Orange -- with an exclusive private dining experience for 10 in The Cellar (Ki Hanal + Lounge). Such great 5 star service by our server, Jess!!! Thank you Mr. Don Domingue (Restaurant Manager). - The Yucatan inspired dishes were life alteringly good - The salsa was seriously addictive (carmelized onions in the salsa??? who knew it would be so mind blowing!) - OMG the skirt steak was cooked to perfection sitting on a corn medley served with hot fresh house made flour/corn tortillas - Their cocktails were vibrant, fresh and packed a punch! A converted wine cellar featuring an intimate bar and lounge and a dramatic private dining table reminiscent of King Arthur's Court, the space was unlike anything we had experienced before. The furnishings were rich with history, character and unique design. For a few hours, we literally felt transported. But as special as the setting was, the people made the evening. We celebrated a birthday , career milestones , and had the opportunity to get to know members of ULI CFL Cohort 2 on a more personal level. A special CHEERS to Judson B, whose thoughtfulness and efforts truly made this evening special. Thank you, Judson, for taking us on such a wonderful Mexican culinary adventure! Great company + great conversation + great food & beverages = the trifecta of a great night out exploring what Orange County has to offer! And with that, we officially pass the ULI CFL Foodies torch to Karen A., who will be leading us on our next culinary adventure this Fall (Oct/Nov). Details to come! Until then... happy eating and CHEERS!

I'd like to start by saying the service was not the issue. The staff were kind and happily offered…read morerecommendations when asked. In my opinion, the restaurant should just be called "Gabbi's Kitchen," because that would be more appropriate. This is the type of "Mexican" restaurant that Mexicans don't actually go to. Basic concepts and dishes that are either done incorrectly or have way too much going on. We ordered the Al Pastor Gordita, and it was easily the worst gordita I've ever had. The meat wasn't traditionally seasoned the way you'd expect al pastor to be, which could be fine, except it was overwhelmed by the taste of either cinnamon, allspice, or some other seasoning I couldn't identify. It was distracting and unpleasant. Then there was an overwhelming amount of pineapple. There shouldn't even be pineapple in a gordita, but if there is, it shouldn't be the main ingredient. Instead of lettuce, there were one or two spinach leaves, and no beans. We also ordered the Arrachera, which was basically carne asada on corn and nopal. This was the most expensive dish, yet while the cheaper dishes came with sides, this was mainly just a piece of meat on a small mountain of corn. No beans, rice, or salsa. I asked for salsa and received an overly sweet, somehow-not-spicy habanero salsa that they charged $4 for. And if you're used to going to literally any authentic Mexican restaurant and getting complimentary chips and salsa, don't expect that here. They offer it to you like it's free, but it's not. I wanted to try something new, and the hostess at the front said the food was "really good" (not her fault), but unfortunately, it's just another Americanized Mexican restaurant that makes you regret not going to a place you already know and trust.

Our water glasses were always full, and they kept the table clean as soon as we finished a plate. The food was good, but not the best I've tried. I had the Grande Taco Salad, and I really enjoyed it. We also ordered the seafood tacos, but unfortunately, the shrimp had a little bit of a soapy taste. We let our server know, and they were very nice about it and offered to get her something else. A note for anyone who doesn't eat pork: ask for the beans prepared "a la olla" instead of the refried beans. I asked our server if the refried beans were made with manteca (pork lard), and he confirmed that they were, so just something to be aware of when ordering. The restaurant itself has a lot of character. It used to be a church, so it has beautiful colorful windows with designs, lots of wood inside, and some huge, beautiful lamps in the middle. They also have outdoor seating, but it was way too hot to sit outside when we went. Overall, it was a nice first visit, especially because of the friendly service and atmosphere. A group of us came in and spent around $500. We ordered several appetizers and shared different plates because everything looked so good. I personally ordered the tacos gobernador. That night and the next day was awful. I started vomiting, had severe diarrhea, missed work, and my child also got sick after eating. Because of what happened, I called the restaurant to let them know and make them aware. I wasn't expecting an argument--I just wanted them to take the situation seriously. But I was being confused for someone that had already called earlier that day with the same problem. I felt completely brushed off. The response I received was basically, "Thanks for your comment." When I spoke with a supervisor he came across as aggressive and made me feel like I wasn't even allowed to express my concerns about what happened. As a regular paying customer, that was incredibly frustrating. I'm not saying restaurants don't have challenges or that mistakes can't happen. But when customers spend hundreds of dollars, we deserve quality food, proper food safety practices, and to be treated with respect when we report a serious issue. Whether this was a food handling problem or cross-contamination, my experience should have been taken seriously instead of dismissed.
