Worst service ever. Our waiter barely talked to us. He walked away quickly as he tossed our food, drinks, etc. He was extremely short with us. We waited a 25 minutes after asking him for a minute to look at the menu. The food was good. I had the fajita with chicken, shrimp, and steak. I really liked it and there was plenty for lunch and dinner the next day. The seasoning on it made it really great. Margaritas were tequila and Dailys, which I really like. I was excited to see a restaurant within walking distance from my downtown office. After visiting Burro Loco, I was not disappointed. The atmosphere is very nice, clean and inviting. The food so far, I've been 4 times and am planning to try the fajitas today, has been excellent. I try something new each time I visit and am always pleased. The staff is friendly, courteous and attentive. I love the salsa they give you as soon as you are seated accompanied with warm tortilla chips. It is chunky and not too spicy. I have to ask for "hot" salsa which is fine with me because I'm used to spicing up my own. Most of my friends prefer theirs mild and enjoy what is offered. I've not tried the margarita yet. I eat Mexican food a lot. I can honestly say this is the worse food I have eaten. I ordered a burrito and it had something that tasted like enchilada sauce. HORRIBLE. The other issue I had with this food would be the burrito had a bunch of unwanted stuff on top. I have never eaten here so how am I to know they would ruin my food? HELLO! A burrito is not meant to appear like an enchilada. It is not meant to have stuff all over the outside. I do not recommend this place for Mexican food. read more

We've been to Burro Loco twice now. Once with my family and again with a larger group. The staff seems to be really nice and attentive, but not overly knowledgable about the food. I'm vegetarian, so I asked about animal products in the rice and beans. I was told there was no lard in the beans, but a little bit of chicken broth in the rice--which is offered on the vegetarian menu. I got the spinach quesadillas with beans. The quesadillas were ok, but I wondered if they also had a little chicken for flavor. The beans weren't anything special. My husband had spinach enchiladas, which we both liked more than the quesadillas. (While still wondering about their meat content.) Our son filled up on chips, salsa, and queso dip, so he only ordered a cheese quesadilla. The chips are fresh and warm. The salsa is pretty good--fresh with chunks of tomato and onion and lots of cilantro. The queso dip is pretty generic, mildly spiced white cheese. His quesadilla was also pretty unremarkable for a tortilla and cheese. That first trip, we split "sopapillas" for dessert, although we expected fried bread and got four tortilla chips coated in cinnamon sugar. Disappointing. The next time we went with a group of friends, we only ordered guacamole salads. They have really good guacamole, and I wasn't afraid of finding any animal ingredients in guacamole, iceberg lettuce, tomato, and cheese. The others in our group seemed to really enjoy their food. The only complaints I heard were that they were stuffed from eating too much. I would recommend Burro Loco for omnivores. Their people are great, the decor is fun, their prices are reasonable, and the food seems to be on par with the other restaurants in town. For vegetarians, know that like most of the other Mexican restaurants in town, their food contains hidden animal ingredients. read more

We are locals, and love Mexican food. There are notably a lot of choices in that specific genre in our local area, and I really feel that Burro Loco stands out above the rest. They have done a nice job with the decor, it feels really unique compared to it's local competitors, I dig the artwork and the booths / seating. I have to say, you won't miss the building if you're coming from ANY direction. It is a very bright orange, with bright blue as an accent. It's like a beacon of salsa deliciousness. As for the food. YUM. It's delicious, fresh and they're clearly making things in house. The salsa is chunky, just like a good homemade salsa should be, and it's addictive. My Father In Law who is quite picky and definitely not a vegetable fan, LOVES the pico de gallo. He takes home two or three orders after each time so he can have it on anything and everything for the next few days. I think that speaks volumes about that particular dish. My hubby loves the Mexican Cheesesteak, and it's exactly what you think it is. Tortillas, Steak, Cheese, beans, rice.... etc, etc, etc. He also really likes the fajitas, and burritos. I've had the Mexican Pizza, which is delicious, but a LOT of food! The nachos are really good, and you can get them a variety of ways. I got the Nachos Grande last time, which had chicken (or beef, your choice), cheese, onions and green peppers sautéd with fajita seasoning, topped with pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. It's really good, and having the sautéd veggies on it adds some really nice flavor, however it is again, HUGE. I took home leftovers and could easily have had three meals out of it. My absolute favorite dish here is the Fish Tacos. Definitely the best fish tacos in the area, as we are landlocked and fish is not a fresh ingredient for us here. They are moist, delicious, fresh (as they can be) and light. They come with avocados, which probably make me like them even more. They've got beer on tap, as well as a variety of alcoholic beverages to enjoy. The prices are super reasonable and the staff is always extremely friendly and helpful in whatever your needs may be. I've just read through several reviews and find that more than a few people experienced the same rude and disrespectful service my friend and I received tonight. I drive from Indianapolis to Anderson and she drives from Muncie to Anderson 2-4 times per year to meet, have dinner and conversation. Because we take longer than their desired 20 minutes to eat, I usually leave at least a 50% tip and if they are busy at all, I leave 100% or more. From the second I walked in at 5:00 PM tonight, the wait staff were extremely rude including walking away while I was ordering, attempting to pick up my plate while I was still eating and taking my drink glass out of my hand while it was half full. They literally told us to leave because they were busy. This all occurred within 30 minutes after receiving my food. We asked for more chips and salsa and were told "no!". We had had only one basket of chips. Burro Loco does not need my or your business as they apparently have enough customers. The food here is not that good that they should be picking and choosing who they will be civil to. I explained the situation to the pleasant lady at check out and told her I would not be back. So here's the deal with this place . My friends and I have been going here for several years for thirsty Thursday's. The service used to be amazing but the last 3-4 times we have been here it's been terrible . The waiter never checks on us , he acts annoyed when we want or need anything . We were home visiting the grandparents, and of course they wanted to take us to dinner. So when asked what we wanted to eat, you can never go wrong with Mexican! We were seated right away. Our server was very attentive and answered all of our questions. They brought out the "hot " salsa, which actually was Hot! YUM!! I ordered the Camarones a La Diablo, it was on point. Perfect seasoning, plenty of shrimp, and they were not overcooked. The hubs ordered the Acapulco Chimichanga. It was filled with steak, chicken, and shrimp. This also was delicious.
