Thus, before trekking out to Fisher Farm & Lawn, i did my research. I needed to replace an old, barely-functional John Deere with something newer, and, well, functional. Based on what i could find on the internet, i'd pretty much figured out which model would suit my needs. However, when i introduced myself to a sales person, i acted ignorant. I explained my needs (for example, my yard is on a hillside, and thus i need a mower that can handle a slope), and finished with, "But i really don't know anything about lawn tractors." The nice salesman asked a few clarifying questions, then walked me out to the line of lawn tractors and pointed to exactly the one my research indicated was what i needed. Despite a near explicit invitation to rip me off, he directed me to the mower with the specs that did what i needed without paying for features i'd never use. He even explained why he thought it was the best fit, and why i probably shouldn't spend more for the next model up. I can only assume i won't be in the market for a new mower any time soon, as JDs are pretty solid, but when i do need to swap out for something new, i'll be back at Fisher.

I reached out for help because my trees are in need of expert irrigation, and my current gardener has been slacking. Susan Johnson of Every Thing Gardens got back to me and referred me to Luis Martinez who works at Nike. I felt in good hands if he works at Nike and is on board with the Backyard Habitat. Luis Martinez came over to evaluate my yard and trees . He referred me to two different tree specialists who can inject fertilizer into such tall trees. He also referred me to Carlos to do a one time yard cleanup so that he could better plan his irrigation system design. Keyla is Carlos's office manager. She called me a few times to set up a new client account. Carlos and Miguel have been here 3 hours so far and are doing an amazing job Carlos has 24 customers and several of them have requested "pesticide free" services which is a requirement of the Backyard Habitat.
