We visited on a Saturday around 230 and got right in with no wait. I did make a reservation online prior and it wasn't needed but I recommended you do just in case. We enjoyed our service very much. The place is beautiful, including the restroom. The food was great with just a few comments. The bread was rather small for a paid appetizer, I wouldn't buy it again. The lemonade was slightly watered down. The beet salad had almost as many walnuts as it did beets which was a bit much for me. I had a blueberry drink which was amazing. Very refreshing. The kids meal options were great and plenty for a kid that's super hungry. I've never seen so much for a kid! The steak was phenomenal. My son ordered it and after I tried it I wished thats what I ordered. My husband really enjoyed his chicken sandwich as well. I paid a little over $100 for the four of us. My husband had the shrimp and lobster pasta. The dish would have been very good except the lobster was not good at all. My grilled chicken sandwich was ok, my fries were not hot and somewhat soggy. My mom, sister, boyfriend, and I approached Burton's last night around 6 without a reservation to have dinner celebrating 'spring' (really my birthday). The host let us know it'd be a 25-minute wait, so boyf and I wandered to LL Bean to explore the merchandise. My sister texted us only 10 minutes later that our table was available. We scurried back and were greeted by Kyle, our fantastic server. He explained the specials and Burtons food sensitivity policy. We ordered a mango iced tea, calamari, and arancini as appetizers. The food came quickly, and my boyfriend and I enjoyed the calamari very much. Mom and sis loved the arancini as well - it had spinach and cheese in it and was served with some sort of dipping sauce that seemed like a la vodka sauce. We ordered the crab-crusted haddock with basmati rice and haricots verts, the short rib grilled cheese with sweet potato fries, the short rib grilled cheese with meat on the side (my mom's a vegetarian), and the California chicken sandwich, per Kyle's suggestion. Y'ALL. The food was SO good! My boyfriend ate up all his haddock before we could even taste any - and he's from the Philippines and Houston, so he knows good fish. The short rib grilled cheese was flavorful and tender, and rich. The sweet potato fries stood out as the second star of the meal - crispy and spiced on the outside, soft on the inside. My mom loved her grilled cheese without the meat as well. The short ribs on the side were bomb also. Now on to the real star of the meal: the California chicken sandwich. When Kyle suggested it, I looked at him askance. 'California chicken sandwich,' I thought. 'How good could it be?' Answer? REAL good. Best chicken sandwich I've had in my entire life. The chicken was moist and perfectly cooked, the bread is soft and grilled, the cheese shining through. I asked for bacon instead of ham on top and that was excellent. We ordered the pecan tart and creme brulee for dessert - these weren't quite as good as the pecan tart was a bit powdery and the creme brulee was not quite silky enough for our liking. All in all, though, Kyle was fantastic and so was the food. Each entree was about 15-20 dollars, the apps were about 10, and desserts were between 7 and 10. Rather pricey, but certainly worth the cost for a special occasion. As my boyfriend and I are a college student/recent grad, we plan to come back and just split an entree. We could escape for under $25 in that case, and there's plenty of food to go around. I could only take 3 bites of my sandwich before declaring myself full, and so everybody else passed it around in awe. Delicious. read more

I had not ever been to Burtons Grill but the atmosphere was very nice, the service was excellent, the food was prepared and presented deliciously and the drinks were great. The happy hour is decent, the soup is good, we love the wings the most but this place unfortunately has no atmosphere inside. It reminds me of a lower end chain restaurant but the prices don't match. Also has a bit of a sports bar vibe. This is unfortunate because it could be so much nicer with a few small tweaks(dimmer lighter, warmer decor etc). Travinia had it in spades when there were at Stonefield. Anyway I recommend Burtons during the spring/summer months for happy hour or lunch when the outside patio is open. I thought it was just another chain restaurant from the outside but it's very welcoming and beautiful inside. The decor and environment looks like a fancy spot but it's also family friendly! There is a large bar and lounge area, main dining room and two tented and heated outdoor areas. The host greets you immediately and the servers are wonderful too. They make everything from scratch each day including their dressings and cater to folks who have food sensitivities and allergies which is amazing too. I had a bacon cheese burger with hand cut fries which was yummy. My hubby had the fried fish tacos that are made with haddock which is nice to see. He loves them! This review is based on terrible customer service PRIOR to even visiting. CAVEAT: I have not gone to this restaurant and will not be going in because of the following experience: I was trying to coordinate a reunion meal for a large party of military folks. I began calling to make a reservation on Wednesday because you cannot make large reservations through the Yelp app. No one answered the phone. I tried again several times on Thursday and again, no one answered the phone. The answering machine says to leave a message but it also never beeps so you can't leave a message. I ultimately sent an email to the business via Yelp and when he responded he just told me that there were no reservations available during the time-frame of our choosing and that we wouldn't be able to be seated til much later. Maybe my time would have been available had they answered the phone any of the times I called. Furthermore, if you're not planning to answer your phone regularly at your business, then you should provide another option for scheduling reservations such as the use of OpenTable, etc., But, it seems like the only option for making a reservation at this place is to go in person or hope that it works to get one through Yelp Messenger. If you're trying to eat at this place with a group of more than four, good luck to you! read more

Went there for a casual lunch with my friend on a Thursday ~1pm. The weather was nice so we opted to sit outside. Pros: -we were seated immediately -food was good (we ordered the beet salad to start and crab cakes with parm/regular fries as our meals) Con: -Service was mediocre. Our waitress kept disappearing and we were left alone for at least 20minutes after we finished our meals. Waiting on the check was another long to do. At the time we arrived, there were only a few minorities which is not the issue but maybe it was. We were treated poorly from the minute we walked in. Started when we asked to be seated. They have wonderful gluten free options and our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding my options. We had a gluten free fried calamari appetizer that was absolutely delicious. I don't have any allergies and I love gluten - so I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy this restaurant which emphasizes it's dietary restriction friendly menu. The staff is very knowledgeable and the restaurant caters to those who have food allergies. They are clearly educated on the specifics of their food and everyone knows the ingredients in everything. All the way turn to the fact that some of the cheese is made with beef broth and could make those of us with meat allergies I'll. They have an entire separate gluten free menu and ask if you need it from the moment you arrive. As well as answer all questions related to meat allergies. They serve those who have special diets on special shaped plates so that everyone knows not to serve you the wrong thing. The food is great! We had the Crab bisque abc the haddock tacos with fries. I haven't given a five star review in a long time. Soooooo worth the stop. I went here on a Friday evening around 5:30. It was packed...good sign. I started off with the berry sangria...delicious. I prefer a white sangria but this red sangria is delicious. Then, I had the half house salad with blue cheese crumbles with the mustard vinaigrette. It was okay. Satisfying...not the best I've ever had but it complimented the meal well. The grand finale was my New York strip with spinach and risotto. This meal coupled with the berry sangria earned this spot five stars. Phenomenal. I was so pleasantly surprised. I was glad I chose this spot to celebrate turning in a huge assignment! The wife and I were out and about and decided to try something new Burtons Grill was right there so we decided to give them a try. We were seated promptly and the server was promptly to our table, as were there on a impromptu whim we weren't dressed properly for the occasion (jeans and tees), and based on that that was the only time besides bringing our check was the only time we saw our server, while we counted him visiting other tables 3-4 times during their visits. We both work in the Foodservice Industry and enjoy our times eating out and usually tip very well. But this time we felt judged by our appearance and were not treated as well as some other customers so it is very unlikely that we shall return.
