I bought the Groupon deal a month ago, and I called this weekend and left a message to see what openings they had available. So far, they haven't returned my call nor responded to the mail I sent via their Web site. Overall, I was very happy with the service that I received and was impressd at how clean the place was! I've been to A LOT of massage/spa places and it's got to be one of the homiest and the cleanest. The owner/masseuse kept the place in excellent shape, fresh towels and sheets, warm bathrobes, flip-flops and the whole nine yards. I got the $70 Women's Bliss Package deal through Amazon/LivingSocial, which included a hot foot soak, hand and feet paraffin dip, 50-minute deep tissue massage, scalp massage, full-body salt scrub, snacks and beverage. Loved the two-shower nozzle rainfall shower in the end. What a deal! I hope they have more promotions like this in the future. Will be back for more deep-tissue! I feel great today :) read more

I bought two groupons for this place and my maid of honor and I tried four times to schedule massages as a pre-wedding treat. The owner is very difficult to understand, and refused to let my friend schedule the appointment the first time because she didn't have the groupon IDs. When my friend called back (less than 10 minutes later, after logging in and looking at the groupon numbers), all of the appointments were booked for the next 3 weeks. After attempting to schedule a few more times, we gave up and decided to try after the wedding. I called again last week to try to use it, and when the lady called me back, the first thing out of her mouth is "Why did you wait until the last week to use this? People like you always doing things so last minute." WOW. The customer service at this spa is stunning. She then told me that I should come in during the week, and when I explained that I live an hour and a half away and worked during the week, she suggested I take a day off or call in sick so I could get an appointment. read more

I purchase a groupon for a 60 minute massage. I had difficulty scheduling and was canceled on twice and rescheduled. Once because of over scheduling and the second because the building was being painted. When I arrived I was greeted by my massage therapist who did not have very good communication skills. She did not ask me to fill out any kind of information sheet that would give her any background on my physical well being. She did ask where I would like to focus. I told her my back area and that I liked deep tissue massage. Maria used her forearms and elbows to massage my body. At one point she was pushing so deep over the same area over and over again that the area became very sore. After my massage I was brused and sore in that spot. Luckily I spoke up and told her that she was pushing to deep so she lightened up a bit for the rest of my massage. The room I was in was so so. There was wax from candles everywhere and oil on the floor that I almost slpped on when leaving. I felt like my massage therapist was not really into her job and that she was just passing the time. I would not recommend this place for a massage. read more

In all honesty, the only reason why I am writing this review is because I don't want someone else to go through what I did. My massage appointment was a week ago and from the moment the massage was over, I started experiencing pain that I didn't have prior to the massage. There is a nerve that runs from my shoulder to my neck where I feel extreme discomfort and even numbing at times. I am having trouble sleeping because the pain is making it impossible to get comfortable.. what a nightmare. My experience in making the massage appointment was the same as the other reviews, but my concerns lie in the massage technique, or lack of, and failure to follow standard protocol. As I walked into the business, there were no signs of a massage license, nor any name of the therapist/owner. There was no health/history form to fill out, which is essential in giving a professional massage as there are serious contraindications when dealing with pregnancy, health conditions or car accidents. Just to name a few.. From beginning to end, I was never asked if I have any areas of discomfort or pain or what pressure I am comfortable with. In fact, when I shivered due to her freezing hands she was out right annoyed but still said nothing. The stones that she used for the hot stone massage had been heated to the point of literally burning the skin. This is because the therapist failed to check the temperature before applying the my skin. She then continued to run the hot rocks up and down my spine, which as you can imagine, was extremely uncomfortable. There are amazing massage therapists out there that care about their clients and are in the practice of healing. Busaba is not one of them. Make sure you read the filtered reviews on yelp as well. Had to leave three voice messages over a span of two months before I got a call back to schedule an appointment which I did 4 weeks in the future. So I book my appointments and usually mark them on my calendar but I am only human and there are times when I forget to update my calendar in the mad rush of life. To date, I haven't had a problem with that because the salon or spa where I have an appointment always calls me/emails me a day or two before, reminding me of my upcoming appointment. Do not expect this courtesy from Busaba! I just received a call from them telling me I was 5 mins late for my appt. which of course I had forgotten about (my bad). No courtesy call before the appointment. When I mentioned that I didn't get a reminder call she said *some* customers don't like to be bothered with calls and so busaba only makes reminder calls when specifically asked. Hello? Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? Anyway, I was told I have to either forfeit my groupon or pay additonal $$ to get another appointment since I missed this one. Right now am so miffed I'm seriously considering forfeiting. read more

I bought this deal on dealfind for my sister's birthday. It was for a 80 min massage with 20 min of hot stone. Her first appointement was cancelled due to overbooking, the person on the phone said her staff was over booked and turned out it was the same person on the phone that gave her a massage. Finally after rescheduling, she showed up and the therapist wasn't even there yet. Feeling very rushed she was escorted to the room and luckily it was warm although the therapists hands were very cold. The whole massage was very rushed and she said the hpt stone was nothing like she ahd ever had before....she just went up and down the sides of her spine multiple times. She ended the massage early and my sister was a little confused. After hearing her story, I felt I needed to write a review because I am a massage therapist myself with over 10 years of experience. This did not sound like a professional massage and feeling rushed and that the therapist is irritated by you is no way to experience a massage. Everyone has bad days but you must always remember to leave that as soon as you step into your clinic. If I would have known, I would have given my sis a massage myself but thought it would be fun for her to get out. Thankfully I only paid $30! One more thing I need to add is that Wa. state requires you to post your license number where you are advertising. You are required to carry your license where ever you are giving massage. 5/24/12 Since i wrote this review, the owner of Busaba (Rasita T.) has personally e-mailed me to tell me that I am such a nice person! What are reviews for anyway? And yes, I am a nice person. That's why I took the time to write a review so people know what to expect. I purchased 2 groupons, one for myself and one for my husband. I have had many massages over the years, come better then other. This was by far the worst massage I have ever had. Instead of using her hands, she used her forearm and elbow quite a bit. It was extremely uncomfortable but was giving her process a chance. Following the apointment I drank lots of water but as time went on I began to experience pain. I wasn't the usual good kind of sore following a massage, I was in pain. It took a few days and lots of advil to start feeling better. Thinking that I was being a wimp, my husband went in for his massage and had the same experience. I was impressed! I purchased a Groupon a few months back and I wish I would have purchased multiple! I called to make an appointment and I left a voicemail which was returned within 5-6 hours by the masseuse. She scheduled me for the next day which was convenient for me and much appreciated. The massage I had was the hot marble massage which is actually a simple hot stone massage but it wasn't bad! I think I paid $29 for the Groupon and got a decent hour massage. It is small and cozy. I made an appointment on a Sunday @ 9am which was great as there are few places you can go at that time to get a massage. I had no problem finding the place using my GPS it brought me to the door. The massage was deep and she did ask if I would like it lighter and after a few times she was able to get the right pressure. Called twice to set up an appointment, but got a message the first time ,and never a call back the second time - when I finally spoke with the lady on the phone, she says we have no record of you ever calling ...seriously! and then when I was obviously annoyed by the answer, she goes on to say "you can cancel your voucher" . Finally as I am asking for her name, she hangs up on me - that says it all!!! These people really do need to have better phone etiquette's - So good luck at making an appointment !! When I made the appointment for my women's bliss package (the Amazon Local deal) I was skeptical, only because I couldn't find any reviews and I had never heard of the place. My mom and I went together and we drove from Seattle to Issaquah. Let me set the record straight now...it was AMAZING! We paid an extra $10 to be in the same room, and we started off with some juice, water, and snacks while we soaked our feet in warm water. Then we were treated to a hand and feet paraffin dip, a deep tissue massage, scalp massage and body scrub. This was an amazing deal and we're so glad we went. The two women who worked on us were great, and so professional. Everything about the spa was clean and felt very comfortable. I liked that they paid great attention to detail. They had thought everything through from the snack, to the switching of services, to the shower, to the towels and the warm slippers. This was one of the best spa experiences we have ever treated ourselves too, and we let them know with a big tip! We will definitely return and are willing to pay full-price. The service was just outstanding and I left feeling like a princess! Go, I promise, you won't be sorry! read more

Difficult to get a hold of and then when I finally did get an appointment I had the most painful massage ever! I get deep tissue massages on a regular basis and used to some discomfort and sometimes pain because you feel releif afterward. I bought a coupon through Amazon Local for Busaba Therapeutic massage & Spa. All I can say is that it was a waste of money as I was never able to schedule an appointment over the course of a year and at least a dozen attempts. I called a number of times unsuccessfully as they either did not answer or they did not return my messages. Only one time did they answer the phone, and I literally could not understand what they were saying so I said I'd call back -- but was never able to get a hold of them again. At least 3 times I stopped by their address and no one was there. And contacting them through their website did not work either. In the end my coupon expired. I have been to fancier message places and this one was a bit hard to find. I had to make a couple of u-turns before I could find the place. But I came earlier and it was well worth finding. First of all, the owner/ masseuse is very nice. I had a Thai message so it was very different from the others I've had thus far. Swedish messages tends to be too soft for me and Chinese pressure point can be a bit much. But with the Thai message, she moved/stretched my entire limps and simultaneously message out the knots and bumps. Sometimes she applied a bit more pressure than I am comfortable with (but I'm a wimp and have very low pain tolerance) so I asked her on 2 different occasions to lessen the pressure and she did so. The previous post commented on the cleanliness of the place and I have to agree. I have never seen a cleaner toilet unless it was brand new. The place is simple/homely so don't expect a high end spa atmosphere. The message itself was the highlight of my experience, as it needed to be, b/c my neck and upper back was hurting bad. She asked me where I wanted the focus to be and really did worked out all the kinks. I felt great during and after the message. The only things that I would change is the oil that she used. Personally, it didn't smell very pleasant to me though others might like it. I will ask her if she has another oil with a different scent. I wouldn't mind something medicinal or herbal like lavender. The other thing would be the linen on the message table. I'd much prefer the heavy cotton sheets to the green blanket she had. But then again, I got an awesome, therapeutic message so I'm not complaining. Thanks for reading! read more
