(copy and paste the link) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YC2laXK6tLk&list=UUk5bwqerByHPuQzCxT4n88w&index=9 European pastry is known for its' decidedly low-key approach to sweeteners. In other words, they don't obscure the delicate flavors and flaky textures with the kind of heavy-handed use of sweeteners found in their American counterparts. Ma Petite Cherie produces exceptional baked goods in the French tradition, not too sugary and not too heavy. Their baked goods look exactly like the ones I enjoyed every day when I lived in Europe. More importantly, they TASTE exactly the same, fluffy, buttery layers with just a hint of sweetness. If your taste runs to Krispy Kremes, sticky buns, and Twinkies, you may not appreciate Ma Petite Cherie's restraint when it comes to the use of sugar. However, if you enjoy quality baked goods that DO justice to the fine art of French cuisine, then you definitely should stop by MPC's cute little booth at the the Brentwood Farmer's Market.

(With that said, I haven't found any bakery in East County that can make a great croissant.) Today I bought a flourless chocolate cake (like the cute one with berries in the Yelp pictures) and was very impressed!!! It was delicious. Rich, decadent but not too sugary. I will definitely buy it again next week at market! Overall, the flourless chocolate cake won me over. Give them a try. It's sure better than the overrated Dore bakery (see my other review for that bakery).

I don't come out to Discovery Bay too much anymore, but I stopped by for some gas and snacks on a Monday evening. Michael's Market is like a convenience store (c-store), but it's loaded with beer, wine and tobacco items. It has a fountain area and wide variety of snacks and candy. For awhile it was the only neighborhood shop around. But now the Discovery Bay shopping center is right next door. Yes, I saw the Confederate flag. But the clerk was friendly and helpful. I was wearing my work uniform w/ ID. People with jobs usually have money to spend. Michael's Market is a well stocked c-store that can save you a trip down the road to the Safeway shopping center. Shell gas prices were about average for the SF Bay Area. Located on the corner of Discovery Bay Blvd & Riverlake Rd.

I have come by a few times in the past 2 months and have never even been greeted with a "hello" at the counter. Did they all get a frontal lobotomy? Or are they just that afraid of women? If I were Michael I would find anyone with any personality immediately instead of letting these rejects be the "welcoming" face of your store. They make me feel like a complete burden at best. Gross customer service. I would rather talk to my wall.

We got there before 6pm and my first two dinner entrees I wanted were already sold out. It must have been pretty busy before we arrived. A little bit of a let down. We ordered two I REALLY DONT CARE (Angie's beef bites, mashed potatoes, deep fried Brussels sprouts) and HOT POCKET HOOCHIE pizza. All the food was really good. Not one bite was left from anything ordered!!! We inquired about how often the menu changes and we told once to twice a month. Can't wait to come back and try new things!

Most of the seating is in a covered outdoor courtyard with string lights and patio heaters, which creates a cozy setting for a group dinner. There's also a smaller indoor bar area that feels more intimate. The atmosphere is inviting and well done. We started with saganaki and The Bee's Knees to share. The Bee's Knees -- toasted bread with goat cheese, honey, and bee pollen -- was actually one of the highlights of the night and something I'd definitely recommend. We also ordered cocktails and a couple bottles of wine for the table, a Pinot and a Napa Cabernet. The Pinot was enjoyable; the Cabernet was not our favorite and felt a bit underwhelming. Service was friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. We were told there was only one cook in the kitchen that evening, which likely explains why the food took quite a while to arrive. Several in our group ordered the "I Really Don't Care" entrée. I had a salad with steak, and unfortunately the steak was a bit clammy and lacked flavor. It wasn't terrible, just not memorable. For dessert we shared the lava cake, which was decent but not exceptional. If half-stars were an option, I'd probably land at a 3 1/2. Since that's not how it works, I'm giving it three. The ambiance and a few dishes stood out, but the overall execution didn't fully meet the expectations we had going in.

We're so grateful for the care and attention you put into everything, it made his celebration even more memorable. Thank you again for such a fantastic night! It was seamless and perfect!! No one behind the bar acknowledged us stood there for a good 3 minutes before someone finally looked at us. And when she did it was a nasty, attitude. I told her this is our first time here. She goes you need to see the host to be seated... then points to a door and walks away. Ok great, see the host we get asked if bar seating was ok. I said yes thinking we would be sat at the bar with chairs that had backs on them. Nope we were seated on bar stools facing the boat launch. Only other option was a picnic bench with no backs. Um.. ok odd for a restaurant to have no actual table seating. We sat for 13 minutes before being acknowledged by the server. I have 2 stars because at least she gave a smile. Forget ambiance ... we had a party of kids behind us who were throwing cups and choking each other while the parents laughed. Food was mediocre.... We should have just gone to Whiskey tango foxtrot at least I know the service is good and where kids aren't running feral around the restaurant. My lobster tail was way over cooked and basically rubbery. The sauce wasn't even that great I could make a better sauce from scratch without even trying. Will not be coming back, our server checked on us maybe once before bringing the check. Definitely not worth the money we paid. Save yourself and visit whiskey tango foxtrot in Oakley by the Antioch bridge. Oh and not to mention everyone working here looked like they were 16 and could care less about service. Honestly just seems like a place for parents to get drunk and let their kids run wild along with a staff who doesn't care.

It was clearly a busy time, and I was ready to wait. Honestly, the wait was longer than expected, but what made the experience still pleasant was the friendly staff. Even though they were clearly swamped, they stayed polite, patient, and moved as quickly as they could. The food was hot, fresh, and exactly what I needed after walking around a blueberry farm for hours. Sometimes it's not just about the food--it's about the small kindness during a tired moment, and this McDonald's delivered that. Not the fastest McDonald's, but definitely one with heart. Appreciate the team working hard during peak hours!

By the time I got to the window, the interaction felt rushed and rude, and the food was practically handed off like I was an inconvenience. This used to be a quick, reliable stop, but now it feels disorganized and poorly managed. Long wait times with no visible reason and unfriendly service is not what you expect, especially from a place built on efficiency. Really disappointing experience overall.
