A new 3 acre park for all sizes of mans best friend. It's divided into three areas of small dog,large dog and general area . Nice benches and picnic tables are placed about as well as modern,clean restrooms. All grass lawn areas with plenty of room to roam. There's even a convenient watering hole for hydration of humans and K9z. This place is pretty great and if you like dog parks,check this one out.

It's…read morequite large and has a number of amenities like a small pond, winding creek and access to an adventure park on the grounds. There are trails as well as paved paths for walking and jogging enthusiasts. The trails do not have much of an elevation change, but they are immersive enough to where you feel like you are in nature. In the midst of one of the trails, you can see the platforms and zip lines associated with the Go Ape Adventure Park. There is a part of another trail that has a beautiful wooden deck that is very peaceful and is akin to other parks I've experienced in Japan and Hawaii. So, if you like changes of scenery, Oak Point is a great option- it's a chameleon in that way. There are restroom facilities that are well maintained located by the large pond as well as ample parking. As far as variety of landscapes and well maintained grounds, Oak Point is definitely a terrific option for outdoor activities in DFW.

The people and dogs there are all very friendly and I have never come across any issues. There's also plenty of seating for the pet parents and most of the dog park is shaded which is perfect for those warmer days. Parking is never an issue either and we love how close it is to us. I also love all of the different food options at the shacks. There is a wide variety and something for everyone. The empanada spot is my personal favorite. Definitely recommend the shacks for all dog lovers

There's a variety of choice to eat here last time we got pizza and tacos and we wanted tot rt the empanadas but we will next time. You order at their window and can sit inside their shack or take it to the patio. Since we have our dog we always sit out and enjoy the patio and view of other dogs. We always end up at the brewery here where they have a pretty good selection of crafts. The place is also family friendly and has a little area for kids to run around too. The only complaint if any that I have is the fact that the park is simply just grass, no foliage trees or anything pretty much just a giant football field, and there is limited seating. Keep in mind too the type of people that visit this dog park (Allen, Murphy etc) ya know the type who will call 911, if you don't pick up a dog pie within 30 seconds. This wasn't witnessed, nor did it happen. You can just tell by the way people act.

Since it is a city park it is well maintained and kept clean. They also host cute little events for the pups on occasion with vendors and food trucks. There are tons of parks all throughout DFW to get your long run on. If you are up north in suburbia and are looking for a place to get your miles in, I highly recommend coming here! It's nice and peaceful and quiet plus safe and options for potty breaks in the area. The trails are beautiful and well kept and the residents are friendly! I recommend parking in the main park area where they have designated the public to park and start your run from there. Great sunrise views off of the creek and you can run throughout the neighborhood trails since it goes around the city. It's fairly flat but there are some opportunities for elevation if you venture out. If you are just looking for a safe park/playground you may bring the fam here too and I do think there is a pavilion. But there's tons of shade for the run and lots of fun fact/history out there about the park as well. Enjoy and keep on supporting local!

According to the map, it looks like it goes far south into Plano. Very quiet. Only saw a couple families walking, jogging, and riding bikes. We did come on a Friday morning though. It hasn't rained in awhile so the creeks are low. All paved, a couple bridges. I saw some wildlife too: squirrels, hawks, and egrets. We came in January so all the leaves had fallen off trees. I bet it is a sight to see during spring when everything blossoms. However, I imagine it being very hot during summer since there is no coverage throughout the path. Overall, nice, paved trail. Extremely well maintained.
