Great deli style sandwiches and very friendly staff! I got 3 sandwiches to go to take on a picnic with friends - the hot roman combo, their chicken salad special, and the Rooster combo. All were quite tasty, my favorite with the Rooster. I was quite surprised they did not cut their sandwiches in half, particularly the Hot Roman since that thing was HUGE! I'm sure the staff would if asked but I didn't think to ask. They also had plenty of tasty looking pasta salads and homemade cookies and local Wachusett potato chips. I also enjoyed their shadow box tables for dining in - it was entertaining to look at the old news paper clippings while I waiting for my food. I'm not a local but if I am driving through again I would get another sandwich! read more

Always use to like getting Italian grinders from this place. They have fell off majorly. The Italian grinder i got today was by far the worst i have ever had from here. Bushel n Peck need to train their employees how to properly prepare an Italian grinder. The girl who made my sandwich totally left off the pepperoni. Like if your completely out of it. Let the customer know. So they can change their order. Instead you make it with ham cheese and salami minus the pepperoni. Thats a major flavor of the Italian. Also the Italian bread comes completely cored out. No option for the customer to say hey i dont like my bread ripped out. So your left with a super chewy outer shell of a loaf. Just awful and not a good experience. From 1 to 10 this experience was a hard 2. I will never be back. Complete waste of money. Not worth it. Employees dont even know how to make an Italian sub correctly. Like for real no pepperoni smh. It wasn't even busy the girl made my sandwich so fast it was almost questionable. I knew i should have checked my sandwich before i left. Complete experience ruined by lack of experience and focus of an employee. I knew it was gonna be bad when she said all the Italian bread comes cored and ripped out like that. To have the bread be like then you complete epic fail on the attempt to put the sandwich together. ​Look, if you go to Bushel 'N Peck and order a "Hot Roman" sandwich, you're not ordering lunch--you're ordering a temporary roommate. This sandwich is less of a meal and more of a regional landmark. I ordered a Superman sub, and when the guy behind the counter handed me the bag, I genuinely thought I'd accidentally purchased a small, oddly-shaped ottoman. I had to pay for my sandwich and then immediately pay for a chiropractor. The bread-to-meat ratio is such that I'm pretty sure my sub qualified for its own zip code. If you want a fantastic sandwich that will feed you for three days and make you question all your life choices regarding portion control, this is the place. It's ok but the service is friendly. I've always gotten decent sandwiches and soups and in a timely fashion. But it is clear they need work on communicating with each other between employees. It is also abundantly clear that some of of those employees who are poor communicators are family and/or long time employees. It can be painful to watch. Local delicatessen located in the Burncoat neighborhood. I was craving a big sub on this warm summer afternoon so decided check them out. I went with the Superman, a beautiful combination of roast beef, ham, turkey with all the toppings. My favorite aspect of the sandwich is their Italian bread - it has the perfect crunch to fluff ratio. If you're not feeling a sandwich they have plenty of salads and even feature a cold case with different pastas and lasagna. The lasagna definitely caught my attention. They are taken bake style so I will definitely have to try them at some point. The employees were super friendly and the service was fast. The sub itself it was filling enough to split between my wife and I. I'm super stoked this place is in my neighborhood will definitely return on a frequent basis. read more

Ordered the buffalo chicken and beef wraps. Both were good, but the chicken was loaded with dressing making eating very messy. A wrap is designed to be held in-hand with no clean up needed and hope they adjust this is future. We would try here again. read more

I did not come here for the food but needed a quick caffeine fix. But what was so memorable was the outstanding customer service, they made you feel like part of the family. Was this the best sandwich I ever had? Not by a longshot. Was it one of the biggest? Yes. I heard about this spot a lot ... mostly from blue collar folks ... and finally tried it. While I probably woukdn't go back, I am sure if you are fans of big portions and local sandwich shops, you might. The sandwich is served on a HALF LOAF of Italian bread. I was fairly amazed that it was a two-hander sandwich and thought to myself that the calories in the bread alone would equal an entire day's worth. I didn't see too many customers in the crowded shop who were on the slim side. Not surprising. I've never had a sandwich with as much condiment on it before. The amount of mayonaise seemed equal to the amount of meat. I scraped a lot off with a napkin but still the sandwich was covered. It was almost comical. The meat was piled pretty high ... although this was my biggest issue. The meat was basically tasteless. I had pastrami, turkey and roast beef in my sandwich. I couldn't tell you what the sandwich was made of if I ate it blindfolded. Each meat tasted the same, which when it comes to pastrami is a shame. Maybe the way to go was the Italian as the meats are more distinct? Thank goodness for the huge amount of mustard, mayo and lettuce as the sandwich would have had no taste otherwise. If I were to go back, I'd get something like an Italian or something with bacon as the sandwich I had was band. I was surprised to see that the sides did not come in a small cup as a side portion. The smallest container of macaroni or potato salad was a soup bowl sized container, which didn't break the bank at $2.50 but given the size of the sandwich, a small scoop was all that was needed. The macaroni salad was fresh made but very mayonaise heavy and sort of tasted store bought. The folks at the counter were nice and there were lots of regulars here. Everyone knew each other and given the area of Worcester it is located in, I sort of felt like I was on the set of a Shameless episode. Not really my cup of tea but they are always packed and highly recommended by many truck drivers, electricians, etc. I've talked with. There were also a lot of younger (mid-20's) office workers who still have the metabolism and lack of fear of cholesterol to eat these giant subs on a daily basis. Based on reviews, you'll either love it or you'll hate it. I wasn't a fan but won't knock them with low stars because it wasn't my thing. There's nothing wrong with this place. Great prices and big portions however just alright. The black bean burger was just ok I liked the toppings and roll more. We made our own fries they are not from the restaurant. The Italian sandwiches were liked well by my relatives maybe next time I will order that instead but maybe if my burger was a little less mushy and more dense I would have enjoyed it more. read more

Horrible service (woman walked away when we approached the order counter, went in back and just stood there muttering something about having to do inventory (we could clearly see & hear her). I ordered a sandwich with NO cheese, tomato's, or anything else, "just the bread and pulled pork". sandwich came out with melted cheeses. While waiting three people asked us, "did you pay yet?" They are very disorganized. Food is just cheap cold cuts. And their "hot" sandwiches are just heated up in standard microwaves. Why go to this place when there are so many other better places (e.g., Steve's Pizza about 1 mile away)!!!! I haven't been to the Summit location in a long while. Went in today for a salad for my wife and a wrap for myself. The women who took my order seemed irritated with me. Salad had expired lettuce in it that my wife had to pick out, about half a chicken breast of meat on the salad. The wrap I ordered was made wrong, and could fit within the length of my thumb and pointer finger stretched out (I have small hands). People make mistakes, I make them, the order being wrong was not the problem, the service that I received was unacceptable. I had a large bill (100) that I tried to pay with, the order being $26 bucks or so, and I was told that she would not be able to make change for that? So goodbye Bushel N' Peck, you will continue to do well I'm sure, but I will look elsewhere for acceptable service. read more

A preceptor of mine in clinic recommended this place to me since we had a little extra time for lunch. The menu has a lot of options, I went with the blondie (a corned beef sandwich), a small macaroni salad, a small potato salad, a bad of chips,and a lemonade (all for under $15) The food was excellent, I liked the potato salad more than the macaroni salad (normally my preference goes the other way). Mrs B decided to surprise me for lunch today and this is where she took me. She had been here before, this was my first time here. I'd been past here hundreds of times before and never noticed Elsa's before. Walking in reminded me a lot of a NY style deli. This is the kind of place I'm used to patronizing as opposed to Subway. My only complaint is that I didn't see a breakfast menu. We walked up to the counter and grabbed a menu and sat down at a table to look at our many choices. Mrs B chose a B & P Italian, I zeroed in on a Chicken Cutlet Parmesan. The sandwiches were huge and tasted great. The only thing I would have changed is having my sandwich toasted, but that's on me, not the staff. The staff was great. Our server was friendly and our wait was minimal. She was nice enough to bring our food out to us as were both still on crutches. While this was my first time here, I'm sure it will not be my last. read more

I give this place major props on their food. It's delicious, fresh, and packed with flavor. I've had issues with their service delivery. They are well staffed, but most everyone is consumed with making the ordered food, so there isn't really one person I'd say who manages or runs the counter. As such, food delivery can be anarchistic, and they seem to struggle with coordinating orders that consist of more than one item. It's frustrating to watch 10 people behind you get their food and leave while you wait for the same items. I'd like to come here more for lunch, but with a 45 minute lunch break, i can't really spend 30 minutes of it just waiting for food, especially for items on the daily specials menu that should be ready to go. read more

Really liked Bushel but my experiences there went down hill fast. Last time I was there a manager was yelling at another employee for putting the trashcan lid on the counter that they use to prep food, saying the board of health would freak out. Appetizing. I order the same BLT wrap whenever I go. They differ depending on who makes it. As of late, they're either missing something or sloppily made. Tonight I ordered a BLT with ranch and swiss. I got a sloppy wrap filled with a ton of lettuce, a glob of bacon, and ranch. No tomato (it's in the name) and no cheese. It's frustrating paying for something and driving back home only to find it's not what you payed for nor is it appetizing. We're all set with ordering from here. read more

Moved recently to WB and this shop just happened to be at one of the turns to the house. Sandwiches are spectacular. Had the specials the couple times we stopped. They are specially crafted by a talented crew who seem to enjoy what they do and each other. They love their " regulars" and we hope to visit them frequently. The best Italian grinder in town. I moved to Florida and make sure that I stop there to get their grinder for my drive back to Florida. I recently picked up 6 grinders to bring to the beach and requested the bread on the side so that the sandwich would not get soggy. They assured me it wouldn't, made the sandwiches and gave me the dressing on the side and it was perfect. For years I frequented the Bushel N Peck (BnP) at the Summit for lunch. I still do when I am in town. The food is fresh, prices are reasonable for what you get, and the people are always friendly. Their flagship "BnP" (Italian sandwich shown in one of the pictures here) comes pre-made so you can grab-n-go or you can have one custom made. Can't lose with this one. Other great choices I have had are BnP's Chicken Mediterranean Wrap, homemade chicken noodle soup, and Chicken Cutlet Parmesan grinder/sub. BnP also offer an assortment of very good homemade cookies and other desserts. Beverages are also offered and most are locally-made products as well as national brands. The deli counter also offers a multitude of homemade side dishes and entrees you can heat-n-eat at home. The only downside is that the weekend staff seems more lax and less efficient and tend to screw up call-in orders. In person, they seem less quick in working a line of customers because of their socializing...not with customers but with themselves. read more

Good selction of chips and assorted beverages to go with your lunch. Their tuna wrap special of the day rocks! My boyfriend gets the Generator everytime we go- it's a huge sandwich, but somehow he manages to finish it all.
