It was Christmas Eve at 4PM when we walked in and were greeted right away by a very polite young lady. We gave our order and went to get our drinks. We took a seat at one of the many tables and it was a little dirty but my wife wiped it so, no biggie. The same young lady then brought us our food and politely asked if we needed anything and my wife asked for hot sauce, she hurried away and came back with a handful of hot sauce! Looking at the chicken I was worried cause it was a light color but when we took our first bite my tenders were juicy and crispy! I asked my wife and she said her drum was juicy and crispy as well! I also ordered fries which were crispy and soft in the center! My wife got some mashed taters which weren't great it was like like a block of potato but with the gravy she tore them up! we also ordered some corn bites and they were crispy and tasty, and I got a apple pie, which was awesome! It was my wife's first time and she was pleasantly surprised and quite happy with her meal although she'd probably skip the taters again! The food servers are handling food with bare hands, no food handling gloves while working the register. How does anyone think that is safe. Always understaffed the ownership of this location should be reported for cleanliness issues and proper food handling per the state. We walked out when we saw this, avoid this place. read more

Ordered a 4 piece strip meal with mashed potatoes and a 6 piece strip meal with fries. We got dry bottom of the basket chicken strip pieces and some leftover fries tossed into the box that didn't order fries. No working number listed so couldn't even call to ask for a remake we don't live near by but were willing to bring the food back to get the actual chicken strips we paid for. There's always a wait for the chicken no matter what time of the day and they only have two people working

Not sure which was worse. The personality of the person who waited on me (could not even greet me, he was wearing a shirt showing he was the manager) or the quality of the food they served. I ordered a family meal to include fries and okra. The okra ended up making me sick, so it is clear that was truly a waste of $40+. Needing to wait for over 5 minutes for someone to wait on me in the drive thru was a bit ridiculous. We stopped to eat at bush's on our way home from. San Antonio, we usually just just the drive threw. It decided to go in. The restrooms were very dirty and smelly. the dining area was too. Today I visited this location l, and encountered a young lady by the name of Jamie. She was extremely knowledgeable about the items, and even more pleasant. This young lady absolutely made my day from the moment I entered until the time I departed. She ensured that my lengthy order was accurate, and served hot. Avoid at all cost!! Where to begin? Walking in, the floor was super slippery with grease. The young lady at the counter didn't seem to have any speed other than 'sweet time'. We went sit down only to find every single table filthy. Luckily I had Clorox wipes and cleaned off the table AND seats. The wipe was gray after cleaning up leading me to believe they hadn't been cleaned in days!! After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for our food, I was not surprised to be disappointed once more. The food was completely cold and looked like it had been sitting there for quite a while. And I could see why since they had piles of chicken under the heat lamp. I just couldn't understand why it took as long as it did since the lobby was empty and the drive thru was not very busy. I've been to other locations and have not had an experience like this. Rarely give five stars. This is a great location. My brother and I eat here after playing at a local golf course. We've never had a bad meal, or bad service there. The "kids" who work there are always very nice, welcoming and attentive. Very different from most young people these days that are not very cordial. This particular post is not in regards to the food but in regards to an employee who I hope gets the recognition and appreciation from his team and this company that he deserves. I've been to this particular location a few times and out of those few times, I've been helped by a young man by the name of Alex (wears glasses). Let me start off by saying that each visits is pleasant and consistent from beginning to end. He told me on one occasion, as he hands me my food, "Here is your food, I apologize for the wait and it is fresh (hot) so just be careful" with a smile. Never in my 30 years of LIVING have I EVER had anyone from A FAST FOOD PLACE tell me that. He definitely is representing this company in a commendable manner and I just needed to let you know if already didn't. An employee like him is definitely worth keeping and investing in. first time at this location and the kid at the front counter that took my order when i visited on sunday, 3.15.20 was not paying attention... i repeated what i wanted which was the 16 pc family tenders about 3 times and i also ordered 1 gallon of half and half. the kid gave me 1 gallon of sweet tea and 1 gallon of unsweet tea... and charged me for both gallons... it kind of felt like it was too much for him to process so i just left it... not sure if i will return to this location... if i do... i hope my experience is better the next time... read more

I have become more and more disappointed in the chicken at the Castroville location. I purchase an order once a week and have for the last year. The pieces are getting smaller and smaller, the rolls, older also. Today, was the end. The chicken has obviously been sitting for a long time. It is dry and was "warm" when I picked it up (I go through the drive lane). This may be the last time for me. They were excellent when they opened, but sadly, it hasn't remained that way. read more
