Amazing experience -- superb customer service, easy shopping, great bras. I finally had to admit i am no longer an A cup (and no longer 27) and that the selection at Target wasn't adequate. When i learned that the legendary Schwartz's in Skokie had closed after 100 years, I reluctantly gave up my dream of being led to the perfect-fitting bra by a bubbie manhandling my boobies. But a Google search turned up Bras Galore. After perusing the Web site, I made an appointment and prepared to spend an afternoon struggling. I walked in early, filled out a questionnaire and then Heather took me back right away and measured me, asking in detail what I was looking for. With her help, and not having left the fitting room!!! (happy face), I found three perfect bras. I left with just one because of my budget, but she recorded the other ones that I liked for if and when I return. This is a wonderful store, and I will most certainly be back! I enjoyed the "personal shopper"-style approach. Heather was super friendly and did a great job of measuring me and bringing a huge number of bras in my size to try. She immediately let me go through them to eliminate the ones that weren't quite the right style, and then let me take my time trying on and re-trying on all the ones that looked like they might work. She was extremely patient and never pushy, which I really appreciated. I ended up with a petite bra that is difficult to find in other stores. Overall, they had a great selection of bras for petite and small-chested women. My only complaint is the return policy. They don't allow refunds; instead, you can return unworn items with tags still on within 30 days for an exchange or store credit. Since they clearly state that the item needs to be re-sellable, their exchange/store credit policy just seems like a way to trap your money in the store once you've bought something. I understand that this is a new business that's doing everything it can to get off the ground (and on a stretch of Lincoln that tends to be cursed for new businesses), so I hope they'll start allowing refunds in the original form of payment once they're on their feet. (Okay-- one other very minor complaint: their bags are really tacky. They're bright purple and made out of a flimsy plastic. Before I knew what this store was, I saw someone with one of their bags on the bus and assumed it was some discount lingerie shop. Hopefully they'll get something a little more classy or discreet once they're more established.) read more

I took my large-busted teenaged daughter to Bras Galore today. She HATES bra shopping and was very apprehensive but knew we had to do it, and we both knew we needed help since she is hard to fit. Wow! What a great experience! We were warmly greeted, and the staff put my daughter at ease right away. Leia helped us and took just the right approach, really listening to my daughter for what she liked and didn't like, and educating her (and me) at the same time about how a bra should fit. She was friendly, tactful, and positive and actually had my daughter smiling throughout the visit. AND she really knew their (huge) inventory - we had plenty of options to try and left with 3 bras in hand (ordered a 4th in a color they didn't have in stock). I really wanted to love this place, as I would love to support local business. The staff is incredibly rude, patronizing and arrogant. I've shopped there three times, and every time I left there upset with how they treated me. The owner just sits there on the computer and never acknowledges her customers. Her last business didn't survive in this neighborhood - it seems she didn't learn from her mistakes. And when her last business closed, she blamed it on the customer. Trust me...I WANT to give local businesses my money...but NOT when I am treated like that. For shame. read more

Please do not down play my very real experience. It was no mistake in how i preceived the environment and fitters to be it was reality. Professionalism and friendliness CAN coexist. And the fitters were discussing more than just collaborating to find the right fit. Thier whole tone,demeaner,etc was very telling. Disappointing customer service and sizing. Staff was rude and unhelpful. When your merchandise is priced that high you need to provide good and helpful service. I will continue to order the same brands they carry from online retailers because the hassle of returns if sizing is wrong is preferable to going back to the store. read more

My sisters took our 72 year old Mom here because the old chains she used to shop at for her long line, extremely supportive bras, ie. JC Penny, Sears seem to no longer carry the quality of bras she had grown accustomed to, especially in the large size she needs and wears. To our surprise, she not only found one bra that she fell in love with and actually "sat her girls up" the way she likes, but she also found what she wanted in a variety colors, ie. pretty pink, hot red and more... yes, Mom LOVES her hot red bra and her pretty in pink bra makes her feel like she's once again, a "spring chicken" and wherever we go and she's wearing one of her bras from Bras Galore, she will most likely get a compliment on her "girly figure" at 72. :). This place is amazing! My mom and I were walk in customers and a staff member, Cheyenne, immediately greeted us and assisted with our bra fittings. She listened to our concerns and instantly fitted us with a proper fitting bra! The store got fairly busy, however Cheyenne moved easily between the customers and attend to our needs. She did not make us feel bad if there was a bra we didn't like and did not pressure us into buying anything! The bras were very fairly priced and they have a large selection for every size woman. I had been looking for a strapless bra for ages and I was lucky I came upon Bras Galore. My fitter was amazing (I think her name was Kiana). She was super friendly, accommodating, and had a great sense of humor. Boobs can be a funny thing and it was great to have her laughing with me throughout the endeavor. I'm not modest and don't mind changing in front of strangers, but if you are they are very aware and accommodating. I found a great bra and was terrified as I walked up to the register what the price would be; I was thoroughly surprised at how affordable the bra was. I heard about the store on NPR. I've been trying to get there for weeks. Finally went today and it was amazing.I am overweight, and I have been buying my bras at Lane Bryant. But the size was all wrong. They did not allow me to feel self-conscious or ashamed of my body. Laurel measured me and brought me everything I needed. I have never had such a comfortable and well fitting bra. I'm super happy and will tell everyone I know to make the trip. The store experience was worth it. Not a positive experience. I went to find a special bra with lift but not cleavage and she brought cleavage and was 'fitted' in band sizes 3 up and cups 3 up. And they did not fit right! the woman waiting on me seemed disinterested and disgusted by my size. Unless you are an extra small as she boasted that she is, stay away...or be prepared for a brutal blow to your psyche. I went to Bloomies and purchased a perfect fitting bra for my special dress in my correct size with help from a knowledgeable and respectful associate. read more

Not a good experience, staff or product. After you're measured they bring the items to you. You cannot look through the racks and pick what you want. There's no way of knowing if they are bringing you the best style or the most expensive one. The return policy is ridiculous. In addition to the receipt they want the product tags. According to the manager they need the tags so they can "resell" the item. Buyer beware. That new bra could be someone else's reject. read more

I had an amazing experience here. The staff is unbelievably welcoming and very aware that there is a great potential for this to be an uncomfortable experience. It's very clear that customer service is a huge part of their training on top of how to do the fittings. Leah helped me with my fitting and she was fantastic. She listened to what I liked and didn't and helped me find exactly what I needed. She didn't pressure me to buy anything and gave me time to retry any of the bras I was considering of purchasing. The bras were reasonably priced for a specialty shop (these aren't Target bras so you're not going to pay Target prices - which is good because they'll last longer and fit better.) They keep nots on your fitting and your preferences to assist you better when you come back. They're not dumb - with an experience like that you're not going to want to go anywhere else. Just a fantastic experience. I probably won't buy a bra anywhere else ever again - and that will require a trip from the suburbs to the city. It's that worth it. read more

I did return and purchase my usual size in Panache my favorite brand and returned another brand, because your store had the inventory. What your response doesn't get is that if a customer says she's a J or K and you all know that J in your store equals M of N then show her that section not the smaller section which in your store IS NOT a J. I'm not a woman who needed a fitting but a woman who was looking for sizing it suggestions I know what I like and my size. Your service and approach should accommodate both types of clients. read more

I am thin and small chested but not a "petite". Bras gape at the top or the cups are too close together for my frame. I walked in and said "HELP! I got fitted then was given bras to try on. The person helping me gave honest feedback on how they fitted. I liked not having to look for bras myself. I let them do all the work since they think outside the box on style and size. I did not feel pressured to purchase anything . Great resource for women like me. I found at least 3 bras that could work beautifully and they are getting more small sizes this week.
