We were in town and looking for a good burger. Other reviews said it had dive/biker bar vibes and the burgers were awesome so we had to check it out. Walking up to the door we could smell meat grease (in a good way). It doesn't look like a dive/biker bar at all. Just a good burger joint filled with locals. We sat at the bar so we could watch the grill. We enjoyed local brews and got burgers and the cheese fries. Everything was perfectly cooked. 52 years, obviously they're doing something right. Service was great and attentive too. Give this place a try.

Pretty cool spot. Dive bar, type atmosphere. I've grown up here all of my life and this was my first experience here. I'm not sure what took me so long to finally get to try them. Everyone kept talking about their burgers and fries so that's what brought me here. I was looking for a good burger. The staff and service here was pretty cool. Everyone was nice and friendly. They did a great job and didn't fail to check in to see if we needed anything. They have local beers on tap, which was pretty cool. They also have regular beers in a bottle. Food wise: everything here was pretty good. I wasn't disappointed in anything I tried here. They're known for their burgers, which I liked, but I felt that my favorite thing here was their wings for some reason lol. The wings were very soft and tender, and it was seasoned to perfection. I know I will definitely be back mainly for their wings. Their chilli cheese hot dog wasn't bad. I tried it fully loaded and it was really A LOT. I think if you just ordered that, it should pretty much fill you up. In all, I had a pretty good experience and would probably be back. I really liked seeing their Pac-Man machine. I haven't seen that since I was a kid. It had about 8 games on it. It's free play so that was really nice of them to do that. Thanks!

Never hesitate to stop at a small little place called busters... because chances are the foods gunna be bussin'! My husband wanted a good burger after eating junk and gas station food for a week straight after working the recent snow storm and the OTHER burger joint had a crazy wait we found this hidden little gem! Great food. Great service. Kids had a cheeseburger and hotdog. My husband said the hotdog was actually really good! Cooked really good too! I had the pimento burger and my husband had the bacon jalapeño and cheddar burger! We shared large basket of fries! It was the perfect amount of food for all of us!

Hands down the best burgers in the boro! Burgers are juicy with unique options. The jalapeño popper is the best burger on the menu with chorizo burger coming in 2nd. Service is always fantastic. When you walk in, you will always feel welcomed. This diamond in the rough has a great atmosphere with TVs playing multiple games or sports.

What more can be said about Buster's that hasn't already been said in their many years in business? Buster's is no longer a seedy biker bar, but a family-friendly local watering hole with excellent food. Their burgers are Boro legend, the location is a total dive (in the best sense possible), their cash discount policy is refreshing, and the bar has great energy for any parched patrons coming through the door. The burgers themselves that Buster's is known for are thick, handmade patties, grilled right in front of you just past the bar. They have some every-day routine burgers with good options, but their weekly rotations are something special. Constantly a different option each week with some crazy (and crazy-good) toppings, to help make each new iteration something special. The beer is served perfectly ice-cold in glass mugs. The pricing is more than fair on all their options, and they even have merch (t-shirts, hats, stickers, etc.) for sale right by the door before you walk out. The parking lot is small, and the place fills up quick though, so if you're in the mood for a great home-style burger, get there early!

Cruisin' through M'boro around lunch time and needed a bite to eat. I was pulling out of the Kroger after getting fuel and saw Buster's Place, which was tucked back from the road and almost hidden except for the parking lot full of cars. A good sign for a non-chain restaurant is lots of cars, with work trucks, firetrucks, and police cars at the top of that list. Buster's Place had plenty of cars, and several pickup trucks. I'll take my chances. The current, 4.4 with 134 Yelp! reviews, many of which are 5 stars, is also a good sign. I get why some reviewers talk about the "don't judge a book by its cover." Buster's building is not a shining penny in the till of restaurant buildings. If it was a BBQ place, the rustic look would probably make it a "must eat" place. It is not a BBQ place. Still, the inside of Busters is a neat and tidy place. The staff was super friendly and helpful when ordering. The menu is basic, with a message board out front of the entrance advertising the special, which was also covered by the server. I read through other reviewers' takes on food and wanted to get a little taste of what was offered at Buster's Place. My order was to-go. The Buster Dog was a mess. If you're not sitting down with a decent place to eat this while using utensils, don't order it. Unless you want to wear some of it, you're not picking it up. Fortunately, I had a fork. Unfortunately, I also needed a knife. Adapt, improvise, overcome. To those who passed me going down the road, I apologize. The frankfurter itself was good. The slaw was good as well. The chili may or may not have been good, since it was very watery and ran all over the place. It has beans and meat. I now wish I hadn't gotten mustard since it was put on top of the slaw. I imagined the construction different, with mustard on the bun and slaw/chili on top of the dog. Individually, each element of the hotdog was okay. Together, they were a mess. I don't know that I got a single bite of the hotdog with each ingredient together. After my first attempt at cutting a piece off, the bun separated, spilling even more stuff out. Meh. Still, there was no shortage of toppings. Someone else mentioned in a review that Buster's uses cheap, crinkle cut fries. I think it was meant as a negative. For those of us who like crinkle cut fries, it was a positive. I got a large fry; I should have gotten a small. There were plenty of fries. There was very little ketchup. First world problem. The fries were average crinkle cuts, and moderately soft. The Buster Burger had a solid burger on the bun. None of this Golden Arches BS where you wonder "is there a burger patty on there" when you take a bite. The burger's issue wasn't portion size, it was taste...there wasn't much of any taste to the burger. Mayo? Yeah, I could taste it. Burger? Not so much. Maybe there are seasonings at the table for burgers. I don't know since my order was to go. It just had no taste beyond condiments. I certainly didn't think it lived up to the "World's Best" claim on the sign outside, but I'm only 1 person with a single vote. All in all the experience was over $25. Prices are on the menu, so it's not a "yikes" moment, but more like a "that escalated quickly" feel. Think more "final bill" on a cruise ship. Your mileage may vary at Buster's Place, so feel free to stop by and try it for yourself.

We went here for lunch today for the first time and it was a very good burger place. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't judge a book by the cover. I saw it opened in 1973, so I figured any place that has stayed in business for 50 years had to be good. They have a fairly small menu but good selection. The server told us they have weekly specials. They did have about 15 different beers to choose from. Price is moderate. I got a double burger and it was almost too much. A single will satisfy most people. They hand pat the burgers and I liked that. I would rather go here instead of Red Robin or somewhere like that. Its worth stopping in and trying. The service was also very good.

The classic burger with pulled pork on top was amazing. Onion ring were great didn't taste over fried or heavy. Service was great

A legend in our community. Old diner style where everyone from business executives to bikers enjoy a big, straight off the grill cheeseburger and smoking hot fries. This place is no frills, great service and great food. Sometimes they have a fresh catfish platter that is off the chart. Great service, nostalgic vibe, great food and locally owned. read more

We were in town to bust Stones River Battlefield. We stopped at Busters after reading the reviews on Yelp. The burger took me back to childhood when you could go to the neighborhood diner and get an amazing burger. Surprisingly the crinkle cut fries were perfect. The waitstaff was attentive. It was good, but not crazy good. I have heard so much hype about this place's food that I was not sure what to expect. What I got was excellent service and a pretty damn good burger at a decent price. The hamburger that I got was extremely fresh and very good but I did not feel like it lived up to all the expectations that I had going in. Overall though, for the price, it can not be beat. This place is the definition of "no frills", but don't let the outdated decor fool you its worth your time and money. Make sure that you bring some cash though, because they don't take credit/debit cards. read more

Absolutely great! From the smoked wings to the burger I had I was a completely happy customer! With fair prices and tasty food you really can't go wrong. The smoked wings........AMAZING! I thought about them hours after having them and am thinking about going back to get more. The waitress was very nice. If you like hole in the wall restaurants with good food you should definitely try Busters place. read more

If you want a total dive, biker bar atmosphere, and an awesome burger - then this is your place! Honestly, I thought it was worth it. I enjoyed the music, too! :) We both ordered a single burger and split a large order of fries. (Probably would have been full splitting a small order) My only complaint is the non-refills of coke products. But, that's just my personal pet peeve. Next time I go, I'll make sure to get a beer to go with my burger! read more

So every single time I come here it is an outstanding experience. So much so that I guess I am waiting for something to go wrong. It never does. Today's experience was just so nice. Pimento Cheese Bacon Burger with onion rings, smoked chicken wings and draft Shiner Bock. You never have to look for a server they're everywhere and cover each other's station. You're waited on hand and foot! L O V E this place! read more

The place isn't much on the outside, but serves up a mean cheeseburger. Would go back just for that. The fries were fairly average, but I didn't really mind. Staff were all wearing masks, but did not require the patrons to wear them. read more

My wife and I have found our go to burger joint! We have lived in Mufreesboro for 3 years now and always drove by thinking it was a dive tavern. It is not that at all! Great Burgers and the staff is very friendly and does a great job of food service. I highly recommend! read more

Best wings in the Boro in my opinion. Smoked then fried when you order them and served with a delicious jalapeño ranch. Burgers are great as well. I always go with the pimiento cheese and bacon burger. Can't beat it. Great little place. Only con is they close too early. read more

I have gone there for years, Buster are used to be our neighbor when I was growing up. His mom was still making the hamburgers back then. Moved close to the restaurant again, so going about twice a week. You cannot be the burgers they are the best in Murfreesboro. We like the fries and the onion rings. The specials are always good! The service is always fast, it's hit or miss with the waitresses. But it is a bar so they put up with a lot. Would highly recommend this bar and restaurant read more

This is the best place in Murfreesboro to get a burger! Very good quality, and I just about can't eat a whole single cheeseburger. I'm a big dude, can't fathom how people eat their double burgers alone... The only things that kept them to a 4 star rating from me is the 70's honky tonk atmosphere and the somewhat long wait for the food. read more

Great place to get a burger and fries and a good cold beer if you are in the mood. The price is right and they have a great happy hour for draft beer. Wanted a juicy, sloppy burger and went based on recommendation from friend; burger was okay, as were the onion rings. It's definitely not a kid friendly place; more of a bar feel burger joint. Wow! How has Busters managed to fly so low under the radar! Amazing burgers...a fine balance between science and art! Cooked to perfection and stack perfectly. Such love for the fine art of hamburger building the mushrooms were positioned perfectly on the burger before the Swiss was placed over them so that the melted cheese held the shrooms in a molten layer of goodness...the bacon slices over the cheese added that special umph of flavor that took the burger to the next level. Truly a great burger. We had the crinkly fries (based on Michaels review) and agree that Busters has skills when it comes to knowing when to pull the fries - a bit crunchy and form on the outside with tender, almost mashed like texture, potato on the inside. Very nice. Also went with the onion rings based on the servers eyes - when I asked her to "tell me about your onion rings" her eyes grew large as she exclaimed, "They are my favorite!" After the first bite I understood her love as both the onion and the batter were flavorful. Will definitely be back the next time I have an excuse to be in Murfreesboro! It's a long-known fact that Buster's is THE place to go for a great burger! They offer a ton of options-all good, although their standard cheeseburger remains my favorite. They have open seating as well as a bar. The servers are super friendly and the service is always fast, even on Saturday game days when it seems the whole world is there. It's not fancy, sporting more of a cross between neighborhood bar and biker-vibe for atmosphere. If you want to grab a cold beer and Murfreesboro's best burger in a comfortable setting, Buster's is your place! read more

Just ate here with some friends and our kids. Excellent! Everyone got burgers except for me. The burgers looked great and everyone said they were awesome. I ordered the wings. Waitress said they are smoked and then fried. I liked them. They were not the least bit greasy - and were very smokey - which I was in the mood for (so be warned - if you want smoke - order them - otherwise get something else). I tried the jalapeno ranch and regular ranch to dip them in - both were good and they had several other dipping sauces to choose from. The menu is small (burgers, wings, dogs....few other things) - which in my experience usually means everything on it is good. Seems to be the case here! We'll be back. It's a dive restaurant - but it rocks. How have I lived in this area so long and not known about it?? Service was good and friendly. Go on in - you'll be back. read more

Meet the Business Owner: AJ ..

AJ (Alex Jordan) is originally from Hueytown AL. He moved to Middle TN with his wife Terri back in 2001...at the time they had a 1yr old daughter (Logan) and another little girl (Reghan) on the way. Before they knew it, the girls were in school and they never looked back...Middle TN became their new home and it has been so ever since! Aj's work in the Medical Device business allowed him to spend quite a bit of time in Murfreesboro...and that is when he was introduced to Busters Place. No one could have ever predicted back in the early 2000's that AJ would eventually own that amazing "Burger Joint" down in "The Boro"! Life happens in amazing ways... "We are committed to serving the best meals possible. Our goal is to create Regular/Recurring Customers who become FRIENDS. We keep it simple...but we work very hard to do it RIGHT! The sweet potato fries were inedible due to the salt they were doused with. I will, however, recommend the house fried chips with onion dip and it was a shame to have to leave it since there was so much of it. It probably would be great in place of mayo on a burger. I also observed 5-6 people wandering in and out of the back that weren't wearing uniforms but seemed to know everyone as they stood around chatting. Why??? Not very professional for food service. One young man in particular kept running his hand thru his long hair as he stood near the staff area for drinks and the pass. Ugh! There was also another guy with hair down to his waist that was pulled back but man!, that ponytail was swinging loose everywhere from the kitchen to the bar. Again, ugh! Neither of those would I want near where my food was being prepared. The menu is a fun looking and eclectic mess but we won't be back. I prefer a food be under-salted as one can always add more if needed and the hair completely turned me off.

To top it all off...I got to meet the owners/operators Frankie and Tony Wong. This couple works hard, serve up great food, and are really fun to talk to. Loved it! I was driving through the area, as I had been over to the Ford dealership getting my 1995 Ford Windstar worked on. I was having trouble getting it started lately and the shocks seemed to be wearing down on my side. They were nice enough and said they would take a look at it. Well as luck would have it, this place was right down the road. I went in about 12:30, a decent crowd, but I was still able to sit down. In some of the newer places I have a hard time getting in and sitting down. The new places use those narrow door frames, and as someone who is a bit larger, it can be embarrassing if you cannot get in the building. Well anyways, I was able to get in through the larger side door by the outdoor eating area. I wanted to try several things, and thankfully they had double burgers! Well I got me one regular double burger and also the hamburger steak, and decided since I had not been I would try a few sides, just fries, onion rings, coleslaw, and a side of the wings. None of it took too long to come out. Me and the waitress had a good chuckle. She thought surely I had some others I was ordering for, but I told her, just me today honey! We both got a smile out of it. It is nice they serve cold pops by the can instead of fountain drinks. I have had gastric bypass twice and the Dr's tell me the fountain drink soda has too much carbonation and can stretch out my stomach. All in all I was there about 45 minuets, and boy was I stuffed! I have eaten at this place a couple of times and I must say it's pretty good. This place is located in the Northside of Murfreesboro between the US 41 and US 231 highway which is kinda cool if you decide to go up to Nashville or go to Manchester then you have something good to eat at on the way also this is not far from a car dealership so after looking at a potential car or getting a brand new car then this ain't a bad location to eat at. The inside of this restaurant has a very biker feel to it and also roadstop style feel which i love very much, they have a tv in case you want to watch sports and there is Pac Man machine that let's you play for free which is cool because then that saves you a bit of money to not that the classic arcade games take a lot but anyway now onto the food. The food here I must say is pretty good whenever I've eaten here i have ordered the regular Buster burger and I must say it's pretty good i love how fresh the meat is and also the produce they use to is fresh as well. The onion rings on the other hand are to die for too I love how fresh the onions and how they weren't too breaded and all for a decent price. One thing I do wish they had was if they gave you an option side for broccoli and if it were in a more easier location to get to for some people but o well it's pretty good none the less anyway that's all folks I'm Roman S signing off. read more
