Then I remembered American Café, and I'm glad I did. From the moment we walked in, the service was phenomenal. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. The burgers were superb--cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and made with quality ingredients you could actually taste. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. It's not a fancy or upscale restaurant, but if you appreciate great food made right and served with a smile, this is the place to go. American Café definitely earned a new pair of regular customers. I had all the fixings and my wife deleted the tomato. The combo comes with fries and a drink. These fries are one of my favorites. They are uncoated straight cut and always perfectly done. The staff is friendly, helpful and always seem to appreciate the business. Seems to be a family run business with folk who maybe "aren't from around here" which makes it all the more "All-American". Wow! Had not eaten here in several years; don't remember much about it. I hate that the reviews on here include those from the previous owners, as I think it's improved greatly. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the Egyptian-born owner was very friendly and welcoming. I thought I'd ordered the Bomlette combo, which comes with a donut on the side. When he brought our order over, I asked him and realized my mistake. "I'll get you a donut-what flavor?" Wow, very kind. My bomlette was cooked perfectly, no grease at all. My husband ordered bacon, eggs over medium, hash browns and toast. Bacon was perfectly crispy, eggs were perfect. Getting eggs over medium done to perfection is a lost art, which includes perfect timing on the cook's part. Hash browns were delicious as well. The coffee is strong-just the way I like it! We are traveling from California and stopped here because it was a well reviewed, seemingly local place. I got the mushroom burger and my companion got the philly. Both were excellent. My burger was reminiscent of a Freddie's smashed steakburger, with the patty smashed wide spread on the grill with lots of crispy bits. My onion rings were breaded with bread crumbs and were cooked well, and the onion didn't pull out when I took a bite. The French fries were really good, double fried with a crispy exterior and creamy interior. The bomb sauce was similar to thousand island and was also really good. The donuts were good, but not my favorite. They were denser than I'm used to and the glaze on the chocolate wasn't hard to the touch. It was good, just not anything like I've had before. They had coke products- Dr Pepper, Coke Zero, lemonade, coke and Diet Coke, and gold peak unsweetened and southern sweet style sweet tea. My wife and I stopped by All American Cafe after doing a little shopping after Christmas. Although we had gotten groceries this morning, who wants to cook the same day? Am I right? This is a place that we've passed by several times and we've always said one day we'll eat there. Well today was the day! After leaving from The Avenue, we headed on over to All American Cafe, while we were headed there, I decided to do a mobile order and do carry out. They told us 15-25 minutes, which we got there maybe 10 minutes after placing the order. We sat in the parking lot talking and watching the restaurant, from the outside looking in, it was very clean, the guys that were in the kitchen were in the zone! We watched was they served one customer and they started preparing another order which we thought would be ours, then a truck pulls up and grabs it. Keep in mind our order would be ready between 5:17pm and 5:27pm it was currently 5:10pm. The next thing I know, there's fries being dropped, burgers being smashed, wings being sauced up! I told my wife, this has to be our order and lo and behold, I looked at the clock it was 5:17pm on the dot! I walked in with the biggest smile on my face, told them I had a mobile order and that I was very impressed by the time frame they had given us and how the the order was ready on time. I also shared that it was our first time trying this place out, he told me how all of the ingredients are fresh, never frozen meat, no frozen vegetables, all made and prepared once an order is placed! He offered us 2 donuts as well and boy were they yummy! Also the fountain drinks, if anybody knows McDonalds Sprite, then you'd love the Sprite here! Now to the food! I had an order of Honey Hot Sweet Wings with fries, now I know people are particular about their wings, me I just love chicken, but these were 10/10 wings! My wife had the BBQ Wings with fries and she says 10/10, she said this is exactly how she'd make her wings at home! Now for my main entree, I had to try the Double Bomb Burger! Ok breakfast place. We originally wanted to go to Waffle House but it was packed so I pulled up yelp and this was a suggestion. We stopped in here, no one was in the restaurant. I'm not from here so I don't know anything about the crazy clown guy but the restaurant is definitely different. Anyways, we ordered loaded hash brown which came with peppers, onion, and cheese, with a choice of meat. I expected mushrooms, jalapeño, other goodies. The hash brown was ok, it's not hard to mess up hash browns but I would prefer them crispy all throughout. Here the hash brown were crispy on the outside, soft almost not cooked on the inside. We also tried their maple bacon donut...which was good, it wasn't greasy and tasted fresh baked. Food is served on a styrofoam plate! Big turn off!!! You can see the plate melted! That's unhealthy! The restaurant could have provided different disposable plates. Overall, it's ok. I won't be back anytime soon for food.
