Great Pizza. Crispy crust, fresh toppings. Fair prices. My favorite pizza in town, hands down. Not a fan of their french fries. Sandwiches and other dishes are hit and miss, but I don't order them often mostly because of the fry thing. I never made it past the phone call. I looked online at Geo's, Pizza Factory, and Busy Bee's websites looking for any specials on pizza. I found a good looking coupon at http://www.busybeepizza.com/index.php?link=coupons for Mon-Tues only 2 Lg pizzas (coupon #2 on the website). There is no way to add the coupons to the web orders, so I figured I would call. No big deal. When I called, I was told that those coupons are too old and the prices are invalid. There are no expiration dates on the coupons and they should obviously update their website, but that is not my fault. He did not offer any compromise, so I told him that I would call elsewhere. I really wanted to like this place, but was sorely disappointed. As a food service professional, I'm generally very forgiving of errors and understand that things happen. This experience was just gross. Pros: Prompt delivery and very courteous driver. That's where it ends. Cons: Food was NASTY! Onion rings were mushy and inedible. Busy Bee has very friendly service and a rather large menu. The busy bee club is a favorite of mine with just about everything you can put on a sandwich with some fries and a salad. Busy Bee is the quintessential local pizza place. They have quality dough and they make the pizza with care. There are some less common topping options that I was a fan of. I liked the steak bomb pizza. It was greasy but that is an inherent problem with shaved steak. The fried foods that came with our order looked like they were dropped when the order was started and then the guy walked away and took it out when everything else finished. Just past done. I usually used to go here when ordering out because it's so close to my house, but after a couple times of going there I learned that most of their menu isn't really that appetizing at least in my opinion, I'm not the biggest fan of the place anymore. Their cheeseburger subs aren't bad at all and same with the fries, but that's about it! The cold subs aren't really good at all, same with the burger plate or even their pizza (which is what they are supposedly known for) the pizza tastes very bland and doesn't have much flavor. Last time I ordered from here was 2012. They missed an item in a delivery order I placed. Called to inquire about it. Told me they would bring it and "no charge", which I think most people would interpret as they were not being charged for the missed item. Poor, innocent delivery driver came back with the missed item...and told us how much was due. We refused to pay for the error, so poor kid left with the food. Called back and spoke with the same person from before, guessing it was the owner. He said he meant we hadn't been charged for the item in our first order, not that we weren't going to be charged for it at all. When I confronted him about his poor customer service skills (which is something I never do, but was very upset with how things were handled), he proceeded to YELL at me to not tell him how to run his business. So, I said fine, but now I won't be back. Unless ownership/management has changed since 2012, then I have no intentions of ever returning to this place ever again. Which is actually too bad, because I did like the food and don't have anything negative to say about the food. But treating customers this way is wrong, especially when the restaurant made the mistake. read more

I tried this place 3 times across a few months every time I had to come to town and I don't know why I gave it more than 1 chance, maybe because parking is so bad at some of the others and there is usually a spot open in front of this one? Both versions of the chicken fingers are bad, salad is bad, fries are always undercooked and the subs are bland. I thought maybe the pizza would be good, but had to remind myself that it already has 3 strikes, how could the pizza possibly be any good? Always have that brick in stomach feeling after eating here. Also the delivery drivers who come in and out always seem like they are tripping on some drug and twice they've been swearing and throwing trash from their car onto the street. They should close up shop and hopefully another sub shop gives it a better shot. read more

Finally! My fiancé and I have found the best "takeout style" pizza in Amesbury! (Flatbread by far for sit down gourmet style) ... I ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza and was quite surprised that it came with Pineapple and Bacon along with Chicken on a BBQ sauce base. The sauce was delicious and the chicken was cut up into nice small bite size pieces...unlike some places that give you those ginormous chunks of chicken. Ive tried this place on several occasions and its never better than "OK" or "DECENT". However on this past occasion it was Terrible, everything we ordered that was fried had a smell of old fried food to it, some of which was not cooked thoroughly. And all of it tasted pretty bad. Update, ordered pizza for delivery and after 45 minutes with no pizza, I called to ask whats up. Was told it's on the way (I live about 1/8 mile away) and was asked if I minded paying an extra $5 because they made a large pizza when I had ordered a small. 20 minutes later, still no pizza - called and canceled. The poor driver showed up about 5 minutes later. Not sure if the pizza had been sitting in the bag all that time or what, but they're off my list. read more

I was given a 30 minute delivery time my food was 36 minutes late and I called twice to inquire about my order and the second time I told them I was not going to pay for cold food. But I consider them to be two completely different types of pizza (gourmet is flatbreads, pizza shop style is busy bee). I was shocked when I ordered a 16" Chicken Cordon Blue Pizza listed on both the online menu and the printed menu for $16.99 and had to pay a $2.00 delivery fee which was not included on either site. I didn't argue with the delivery guy, hey it's not his policy and sent him away with a normal 15% tip. I contacted the owner, Arik who stated that this is the normal policy for any pizza delivery service in the area to tack on a delivery fee. I disagreed and gave him several names of other pizza joints that don't have hidden fees. He then chided me by asking ifif there were addition fees not listed on the menu and since I didn't, he would not refund the price. Is he kidding? Please don't get ripped off by these turkeys and tell 10 of your friends to tell 10 of their friends to stay far away from this place! read more
