I had busy bee come out to work on another multipoint lock. They sent out a tech that had no idea how to deal with these. The tech actually tells me that he doesn't know how to work on the hoppe multi point locks. Calls the office for help - on speakerphone so I could actually hear his conversation. Basically they wanted to sell me a full replacement without even sending out a tech that has experience working on these. Made me think about my 1st experience - they also replaced the entire unit instead of the failed mechanism. read more

Bought a key from them, 2 months in started to see key wasn't functioning as it should. The buttons would sometimes not work to unlock or lock. Started failing the push start. It happened a couple of times, just didn't have the time to call and get it replaced. My car never locks if the key is inside, but since their key was failing me sometimes it decided to lock the car completely with my key inside. I gave them a call if they can come fix the problem since the key was still under warranty and this just should've never have happened because it's never happened till now due to their bad key. They want me to pay the unlock of the vehicle in order to fix the key and on top off that pay an extra $10 on top off that for a new battery. Which seems very absurd. I work in customer service and when something fails on my part of the end we fix it. The manager just isn't workable and doesn't understand that i guess. Yes maybe i should've called the first time it happened, but life is fast and sometimes you just don't have time. But at the end of the day i don't think it's a customers fault for this. So i will have to call another locksmith and get the battery replaced, if it's even the battery or just a defective key. So don't recommend, due to pretty terrible customer assistance. Hello Jerry, I'm responding back to your comment. My car is a 2019 push start vehicle, my car DOES NOT lock if the key is inside. It just won't. Has never done it till today due to YOUR defective key. So i don't think it's my fault? Right? And the fact that you wanna waive 1/2 of it is funny to me. Made an appointment for Thursday at 10. Promptly served. I needed a remote key for my car. Within an hour they were done. Even with the amount of other customers work they were doing. I use busy bee for all my lock and key needs. Today my review is to give busy bee a big thanks for not over charging me to pair my key to my car. I just left the dealer after getting a quote for 165.00 to match my key to a spare. Busy bee charged 65.00 and did it in 5 minutes, not all day like the quote I got from the dealer. Other locksmiths I talked with were even more expensive as the dealer. I like that they don't take advantage or their customers. I highly recommend this locksmith. read more

When I recently purchased my 2012 Cadillac CTS, I only received 1 key fob and wanted a backup. After trying 3 different locksmiths who could not program a fob for my car I stopped at Busy Bees in Escondido. They had the correct fob in stock, the proper equipment to program it exactly as the original and had all the fob functions working within an hour. Needed a set of house locks re keyed. Realtor recommend this shop, so I gave 'em a call. They do charge a $50 show up fee but they did disclose this upfront. It was about 10 bucks a lock to re-key. Now all my locks use a single key for entry. On time, good communication, good service. Recommended. read more

These guys are great locksmiths. So far I've only gone to get keys duplicated, but they were able to duplicate some uncommon keys that I haven't been able to get done at any other place. They also have a great selection of locks, keychains/rings, many other lock accessories at every reasonable prices. Daniel Ward was very unprofessional and rude. I did my best at communicating with him about my location. His coworker found my job site with no help from me, but then he left back to their office to make my keys and sent Daniel back to drop them off. So I had sent Daniel my location prior to him coming, explained to him several times where to go. He was very frustrated because he had went too far which wasn't my problem. When I would try explaining where I was he had an attitude. Told me I can just drive to the office to pick up my keys, which I needed to lock up my job site. So I had to get in my car drive around until I found him and he asked for cash when my boss had already given card info but he told he had "no service" so he was unable to check if we had already paid, even though he didn't even try to look it up and he was also previously on the phone with me so I know he had service anyways so I had to give him cash. That wasn't the issue for me though his attitude was the issue, he was extremely unprofessional and very rude. If you don't like your job maybe you should find a new one. That's all :) Update: Him getting lost & having me pay in cash wasn't the problem, the problem was his attitude and how he communicated. When I told him that my boss wanted to pay with card he literally said "ughhh" and thru his head back against his seat.. I've never been treated so poorly. His customer service was horrible, but thank you for the apology!!!! read more

Kyle was great! Zero complaints there. But the three stars reflect the bill. I needed the mailbox lock to be replaced and it cost me $128 in total ($20 for the lock replacement, $19 for materials, and $89 for the service call). If I had known about the service call fee, I would have scheduled another company. Perhaps I should have asked before hand. Oh well, lesson learned. read more

WOW!!! completely impressed with their response time and how kind Roy was. As with business Lock issues they always are important and need to be addressed immediately. I called at 8:30am and by 11am Roy came in with his white cape and saved the day. Was able to re-key two office doors, make spare keys and was as kind and professional as could be.
