Had a technician come out to look at our situation. He seemed knowledgeable and helpful but then left and never followed up. After several phone calls over the period of several weeks and getting nothing but the run-around, I am finally giving up. Office staff does not seem to really care or want to help and just tell you the technician will return the call (which never happens). This could have gone so much better. :( Update: Just received a call claiming they left me a message (which they did not) and treated me with contempt and rudeness stating "the ball was in my court". My Honda Civic 2005, had an ignition/key problem. Key would no longer turn. I took it out, via U-tube videos, and had them to fix/replace the lock tumblers in the ignition. Seems to work okay. Just got done installing it back into the car. They got right on it, so I was very happy with that. Only took a few hours. Charged about $100.00, which compared the alternative was cheap. I am most unhappy because when I called the company and asked for a locksmith and the cost to open an office door which we had locked with the keys on the desk, he advised me that the charge would be $40. When he came and opened the locked door, he advised me the charge was $100!!! I was very surprised and I told him that I was told it would be $40. The gentleman insisted that he was the person I spoke to and that the charge was $100. I told my boss it would be $40 and my colleagues in the office heard me repeat the $40 charge he told me. This is not the way you do business! He was very unpleasant, unprofessional and downright dishonest!!! We are a minority owned business, not sure if this was the motivation, wish I had asked him to lock the door and leave so I could call someone else. DO NOT USE DO BUSINESS WITH HIM!!!! read more

I talked to someone on the phone at the office, helpful but not enthusiastic. I got an estimate for the repair, but dispatcher unavailable. Got a call back as promised, and there happened to be a guy scheduled to be in my neighborhood in just a few days. Shows up on time, explains and shows why the repair may not be successful, but I agree that he should try it anyway. Proceeds to do quick work with exemplary results. Cost is exactly as expected based on initial phone call. For a simple job, there were many chances to fail, and they did everything right. IMO that's professionalism where it counts. read more

Bought a used camper shell with the promise the owner had the keys. All said and done, camper on the truck owner couldn't find them. Tried two camper shell companies, neither very helpful and had to order new keys with a couple week lead time. Going out of town for work, a locking shell was a make it/break it deal. Had driven by this location for years and decided to see if they could do anything. It was close to closing time, on a Saturday and was nicely greeted by Jake. Explained my situation and even though it was late, he got on the job and made a key from scratch right then and there. Not only made the key, but spent time fine tuning it and even lubricated the locks. The price was CHEAPER then the camper shell companies and without the wait time. Got the keys to my newly bought home yesterday, only to come to the conclusion this morning that they didn't work, and the only one that did work had the chain on the door. I called these guys and they had someone at my door within half an hour. He was super knowledgeable and got into the house without even breaking the chain or busting the locks. The place is well set up, BUT had keys and fobs done there. One key wasn't working for me so brought it in to check. Waited 15+ minutes for the unmasked giant to go out and check it - he got the key to work - took him 2 minutes and he had the audacity to charge $20!! Really? After we spent over $110 a couple days before? Mind you, Mind you, I had to go back a second time (when we first went to get keys made) because he was the only one there and I waited over 20 minutes and he still hadn't finished up with the 1 customer. (When we went back, there were 2 others working who took immediate care of me) But making someone wait (yet again for 1 person) and then throwing a $20 bill in for 2 minutes time....Yeah, won't be going back. And on their response - there was no programming with my key (basic key they took him 2 minutes (literally) to check). Went to Safe and Secure to try and have a frozen lock removed from a hitch pin. While they were not able to free the lock, they explained to me how I could remove the pin. All this was done with no charge. I can completely recommend this business. read more

Really? Over a year later and you're going to tell me what I did or did not ask for? Let me do that for you. Did your rep offer me emergency services? No, he did not. I got another locksmith out that same day and that guy even drove to Bonsall to get a blank, because it was not a common key. Happily paid, plus a healthy too. Was it an "emergency"? No. No one was trapped or dying. Time was a factor, and there are other businesses happy to have mine. I accidentally locked my only set of keys in my RV and we called safe and secure to come out. We made the appointment and Chris called to let us know he was on his way and he was on time. This is one of the few "full service" locksmith shop in area. Appears to offer wide range of residential and commercial key services. I needed to have a blank automotive ignition key cut and programmed and they charged $75 to do so. This was in addition to the purchase price of the key which cost me $70 online. The only criticism is was the locksmith did the work and then indicated after it would be $75. I did not see a price board on display and that would be my recommendation and reason I did not give them 4 stars. Most locksmith are mobile and I preferred to just go directly to the store. If you just need a regular house key made it would likely be less expensive to just go to hardware store or key machine. read more

Excellent service. Called and got a quote over the phone. Cost came out exactly what I was quoted. I had a 2006 Ford Mustang key that cracked in half. They were able to cut a new key in minutes that worked perfectly. Dale was the one that helped me. He was really funny and I can tell he's an old pro. But let's face it, most of us will go to Home Depot or Lowe's if we need a door lock or a spare key made. But how many times have you waited 5 or more minutes at a Lowe's or Home Depot to get a key made? Do you know how long you'll wait for service at Safe and Secure? No time at all. The prices are competitive enough, but the store is a bit out of the way. I'll usually save this errand for whenever I need to buy bread at the Entenmann's Bakery next door.
